Re: Masahiro Sakurai Confirms Super Smash Bros. Changes to Edge Grabbing Mechanics

AdanVC

I'll be honest, at first I was like "Wait is this suppose to be good or bad?" since I'm not that much of a hardcore Smash Bros player but I've been reading that this is a pretty good thing and it can make battles more dynamic like it was in Melee. Looks like Sakurai is looking at every single detail of the game very carefully to make the perfect combination game between Brawl and Melee (wich is in some cases, more appreciated than Brawl because of the speed and perfect balance between controls/characters) This could be the greatest fighting game ever!!!

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's 'Relevance' Is About Sales, Nintendo's Strategy Has Remained Consistent

AdanVC

Another great article, Thomas! The battle has not been lost yet, I remember that once the 3DS had it's first price-drop and games like Super Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 start arriving it's when the handheld started to sell well and let's remember that 3DS was having a lot of hate with the "doomed" thing as well...

So if we compare the Wii U, Super Mario 3D World is out now and is one of the best 3D Marios ever, but 3D Mario is not much of a system seller, now, Mario Kart 8 is coming soon and THAT is a true system seller, and I'm 100% confident Nintendo is not gonna screw up this time, meaning, they would do tons of proper marketing and bring commercials for the game everywhere, and a Wii U + MK8 bundle would be more than perfect. I found difficult it can have another price-drop at this point but if it happens is more than welcome. A big Nintendo Direct could happen anytime soon, maybe in early february so they can announce the release date of MK8 and of course more key titles for Wii U and new unnanounced games! It's not all lost.

Re: Review: Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder (3DS eShop)

AdanVC

I was waiting for this review in order to decide if I should buy it or not... I'm still don't know tough, I mean i enjoyed the demo, it's charming and fun, I didn't have any issues with the camera, in fact it was fun trying to improve the photo to match the silhouette as much as I can and watching how Chibi-Robo appears on the photo taken is cool. I like random/bizarre/unique games like this (Maybe that's why I love the Wario Ware franchise as well) So ohh well. I think I buy it anyways

Re: Mario And Zelda On Mobile Could Bring New Players To Nintendo Consoles, Suggest Industry Analysts

AdanVC

Or maybe Nintendo could make an exclusive partnership with a big Asian smarthphone producer like Samsung for example, take it's most succesful phone (Samsung Galaxy SX) in order to properly create a dedicated gaming smarthphone for Nintendo games... That would be acceptable I guess and of course the $$ benefits would be insanely good. What I would never ever support is Nintendo going 3rd Party and releasing their games on Microsoft/Sony consoles, if that happens... It would be the most dissapointing/sad day in the story of gaming industry

Re: Weirdness: When Publicity Pictures Aren't Worth It - Aaron Paul With Wii Fit U

AdanVC

But he looks like that all the time isn'it? with or without the Jesse character... what is depressing in my opinion is this: "--this is the only official picture of a celebrity playing Wii U from the Sundance Festival." Not even celebrities care of Wii U anymore, even if they are telled to pose for the "yay this is fun" photo. Maybe if NoA had used other appealing and more exciting demos like Mario Kart 8 or Donkey Kong TF...

Re: Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue Twenty One

AdanVC

This weekend my cousin is comin' over so we would play tons of Super Mario 3D World, Smash Bros Brawl and Game and Wario. BTW, Game and Wario is such a fun game. Trying to get the collectibles and stuff is really cool, very underrated game (critically and commercially unfortunately) but I highly recommend it to those looking for bizarre/fun local multiplayer experiences.

Re: Nintendo Has "Great Games" But Is Facing A "Structural Problem", According To Industry Analysts

AdanVC

I'm just sad, man... I don't even want to look at my Wii U knowing all of the troubles it has right now (ok that was kinda dramatic lol) But stil, I just hope for good changes, both for the company and for the consumer... and looks like this time we REALLY are going to see changes on Nintendo and not just those vague promises (or I should say, lies?) of "lot's of 3rd Party support" "No software droughts" as they did when Wii U was going to launch on 2012.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wii U Struggles Bring a Challenge, Not Doom

AdanVC

The only realistic thing I predict happening right now at least is a "Panic" Nintendo Direct... a huge ND announcing all (or at least most of them) of the games that are in the works, with possible release dates for the spring season games, nice gameplay trailers, etc.

The other realistic thing it could happen soon is a Wii U revision, like the 3DS and then after, the 3DS XL. A new Wii U model with a modified Gamepad so they can fix those little issues the Gamepad has right now such as the battery life, a higher quality screen and a slightly new Gamepad redesign so they can get rid of the annoying gloosy finish the top of the controller has... and maybe (but more importantly), a rename of the console, getting rid of the "Wii" brand forever... It can be called simply as "Nintendo U"... that name would go perfectly with the "Nintendo 3DS" name tough, and it won't be confusing for casual market anymore. If PS3 did (remember their first logo? It was the exact same font of the Spiderman movie logo... and it was being promoted as Play Station 3 not PS3.)

I really REALLY don't want Wii U to fail or being descontinued like the Dreamcast, of course they are completely different consoles/era/company but still... We're talking about a challenge, just that, a very decisive challenge on wich -hopefully- it can see benefits for the company, and for us the customers. If Wii U doesn't sell even after Mario Kart 8, Smash or Zelda U, if continues to sell low even with those games, then yes, it's when we can consider the Wii U a dead console, not now, not yet...

Re: Nintendo Confirms Major Reductions In Sales and Financial Projections

AdanVC

Big changes ahead for Nintendo, hopefully for the good. Even with all of this, I'm still optimistic about Nintendo's future. Remember that Microsoft and Sony are having very tough times now as well. No need to start doing the "Nintendo is dead thing" because this is just a call to make Nintendo realize that their actual strategy is not working at all and that they need to bring another and improved strategy ASAP (hopefully for the good of the company and for us the customers) wich at the end of the day, it just bring us to having games, games, a ton of them, a variety of them, that means, indie titles, 1st party titles and more importantly, 3rd party titles.

I know it's not easy but the majority of people don't want to spend $300 bucks on a console that would just have note-worthy games every 3 or 4 months, even if we are 100% confident those few games would be awesome knowing the greatness on wich Nintendo games are crafted, for most people unfortunately, those are not enough to justify the Wii U purchase...

This is not the end for Wii U nor Iwata nor something crazy like that, it's just a call to change things for the better. Remember we would have Mario Kart 8 and Smash this year, those two titles alone would sell 1000x more Wii U consoles than all of those sell on 2013 I guarantee you!

Re: Watch_Dogs' Pre-Delay Budget Was $68 Million

AdanVC

Let's not lose hope, guys. Watch_Dogs would be on Wii U and it would be awesome. Ubisoft is the only 3rd Party publisher that keeps supporting and would continue supporting Wii U. We even received Splincer Cell: Blacklist here and Assasin's Creed IV was a very decent port, just on par with Rayman Legends. I would do my part and buy this game on day one and probably the collectors edition (if there's one available for Wii U of course)

Re: Nintendo Download: 16th January (North America)

AdanVC

Interesting indie titles for Wii U. Virtual Console on the other hand... I'm getting tired y'know Nintendo? No SMB3 or ALTTP in 'merica when you promised to bring SMB3 before the end of the year is something to be quite dissapointed about. I'm holding to play ALBW on 3DS in order to play ALTTP first... Sigh.

Re: Kirby: Triple Deluxe Makes Japanese Chart Début at Number One

AdanVC

Sigh Wii U, well it was expected. Let's just hope doesn't go back to selling 5k or less each week as this past year, but considering that there would not be new games for the console until february with DKCTF then... yeah, probably this couple weeks would go back to 5k Damn it. At least it had a great holiday tough. And the 3DS... you doing it wonderful, you little stereoscopic awesome thing.

Re: A Link Between Worlds Early Japanese Sales Surpass Ocarina of Time 3D

AdanVC

Times are totally different now, 3DS has to compete with smarthphone gaming and Vita (But Vita unfortunately is just a case lost already...) back in 2007, the DS main competitor was only the PSP and smarthphone gaming was inexistent or at least it was not so important to be considered as a competitor, that's why Phantom Hourglass reached those insane hugh numbers and the DS in general. But with ALBW and the 3DS in general you can clearly see how Nintendo still keeps the touch on handhelds and proving once again that Software would always move hardware and quality will always means more than quantity. You could have hundreds of games on your iPhone but NONE OF THEM would reach the epicness of a handheld Zelda experience or any other 3DS game, that includes Vita experience as well.

Re: A Third-Party "Secret Developer" Gives an Inside Story of Working on Wii U

AdanVC

This was probably an EA developer. He(or she) talk about developing for Wii U like if it was a truly nightmare wich I don't believe at all... Maybe the part when they are trying to contact Nintendo for technical advice is true due to the fact that Nintendo is a mistery house when it comes to Japan developers and they would not share anything that can risk a leak of it's "magic" that all of their 1st-Party titles have... but it's sad that they behave like that even with 3rd-Party devs when it's extremely important to give them all the necessary resources to create their games on the console.

Sigh, hopefully this first year of Wii U makes Iwata to change a little bit that concept and being more open-minded to 3rd Party devs and allow them to literally "go crazy" with the hardware and give them all the necessary tools.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Games We'd Love to See in 2014

AdanVC

Seriously, I was crying while reading this article because I imagine all of this games in real life and knowing none of them are real is so sad omg . Nintendo has so MANY damn awesome franchises that practically covers all the best game genres. I don't understand why they have Starfox or F-Zero frozen for so many years... But I'm still have a little hope... a tiny bit of hope telling me that soon we would see some of those forgotten franchises alive.

What I consider it could be the most realistic game right now is a new 2D Side-Scrolling Metroid for 3DS just like Super Metroid or the ones on GBA but with 3DS graphics of course. I read months ago that when Nintendo release new hardware the first year or two are just to establish momentum by releasing all of their major franchises that sell a lot first (New Super Mario Bros Series, Zelda, Pokémon and 3D Mario) and once the console reaches a certain good amount of sales it's when they literally "take the liberty" to create games of those forgotten franchises and well, in the case of the 3DS, it's a pretty damn good established handheld console already so that's why I see higher the possibility to see a brand new Metroid there, a Majora's Mask remake and maybe, even a F-Zero game.

Re: The 3DS Was The UK's Top-Selling Games System in 2013

AdanVC

I can't get enough of my 3DS. This handheld is now my favorite ever! Even more than GBA or DS! (GBA was my favorite before) Now I just need to finish all of the games I have. Can you guys believe I'm still need to finish Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, Pokémon X and ALBW? Being an adult sucks...

Re: Weirdness: Chibi-Robo! Photo Finder Has a Virtual Butt Removed in North America

AdanVC

Damn you, Reggie!! NoA sometimes can have a very close minded attitude : / It's just a silly cartoony butt, why the censorship? It's even useful because that way you can identify wich is the front and the back of the object. This is why we barely have some cool and crazy games that Nintendo Japan releases.

@FutureAlphaMale LOL! Butt DLC for just $4.99!

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th January (North America)

AdanVC

I've been checking the eShop every hour to see if Chibi-Robo is up and still nothing (I'm in Mexico btw) Ahh I'm a fan of Gradius, especially Gradius 3 for the SNES. I just lost all hopes of seeing SMB3 on the American eShop soon, I'm sure it would appear at least on early spring

Re: Pokémon Bank Remains Offline in Japan as Nintendo Apologises for Issues

AdanVC

It's ok Nintendo, at least all of this means that lot's of people got a Wii U / 3DS this holidays, at least in Japan we know both consoles are selling great. It's not like Pokémon Bank is an actual game we've been looking forward for years, it's just an app so it's not a big deal to me. I would be mad if this happened to something like Chibi-Robo for example, I'm looking forward to play it this thursday.

It's true. I just hope something like this don't happen once Mario Kart 8 or Smash releases. Everyone trying to play online and making explode the Nintendo servers, now THAT would be a true disaster. Hope Nintendo is getting ready to handle the millions of people that would play at the same time once those two games releases...

Re: Feature: Looking Back at Nintendo in 2013 - Part One

AdanVC

Wii U survived the disastrous drought of games of Q1 thanks to that iconic Wii U Direct on January 2013. That Direct give us hope knowing that huge games were (and still) coming. Nintendo Directs are my favorite thing to look forward on videogames each month or so. Fortunately, 2014 looks 1000x times better for Wii U on Q1 just for the fact that there's DKC: Tropical Freeze on february and Mario Kart 8 after... Let's hope another iconic Wii U Direct is coming on the upcoming weeks as well

Re: Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2014

AdanVC

Kirby's Triple Deluxe and Smash Bros for me. I can't believe Kirby is out next week in Japan and here probably would be out at least early spring or even summer Also...I don't know but I predict that this year a brand new 2D Metroid would be announced for 3DS. I believe it's more possible and realistic to see it there than on Wii U at this point. A new 2D Metroid like Super Metroid, Fusion or Zero Mission for the GBA... yes it would happen.

Edit: After a while trying to choose one to vote, I end up voting for Yoshi's New Island. It looks kinda meh at this point but come on! It's produced by Takashi Tezuka, the Godfather of the best Nintendo games and director of the original Yoshi's Island. We could give it the benefit of doubt. I'm sure would not dissapoint.

Re: Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2014

AdanVC

I'm way too excited for all of them, it's difficult to vote. But I think I would choose X even if I never played Xenoblade but the fact that X it's an open world RPG with HD graphics, dinosaurs, huge creatures to battle and flying robots it's something that every gamer should be excited about. 2014 could be the true ryse of Wii U since it would have two of it's biggest system sellers such as MK8 and Smash. Plus, all the unnanounced stuff that would be revealed in future Nintendo Directs.

But the thing that makes me more excited is that looks like we are not going to have another drought of games like on spring/summer of 2013 anymore! Heck yesss!

Re: Game of the Year: Nintendo Life Readers' Awards 2013

AdanVC

Super Mario 3D World and Zelda ALBW winning the most important categories like a boss! Ah, those Nintendo haters can say whatever they want, but this year was nice for Wii U in terms of quality games, at least. It has the highest critically rated Next-Gen game right now and with obvious reasons, it is the best Mario I've played since Super Mario Galaxy in 2007.

I'm super excited for Wii U in 2014, is going to have some epic titles such as Bayo 2, and X and big system sellers such as Smash and MK8. Plus, all the unannounced stuff that would be revealed in future Nintendo Directs and the announcement of the brand new Zelda at E3. Forget Halo 5 on Xbone (and... what else? there's nothing else on that damn console to be kinda excited about!), forget Uncharted on PS4... ZELDA on Wii U is the real big thing to be excited this 2014!!

Re: Eurogamer's Game of the Year is a Nintendo Winner

AdanVC

This game IMO desserve more GOTY awards than the Last of Us. Why? Because Super Mario 3D World is 100% PURE VIDEOGAME in all aspects. No cutscenes, no difficult story, no boring side-quests in order to progress, no boring characters with generic looks. The Last of Us has an awesome story, but his gameplay is no other than just a generic genre of walk, shoot, find, talk to someone, cutscene and repeat that for over 13+ hours... a GOTY should improve and innovate on it's gameplay with lot's of variety and content that can been extended through weeks and weeks of playing (That's why Zelda ALBW won GOTY award beating TLOU, GTAV, etc.) But yeah, I forgot that most gaming sites just care about realistic graphics, stories and guns.

I'm not "trolling" in any way about TLOU, this is just my humble opinion.

Re: Nintendo Network Services Now Starting to "Operate Normally"

AdanVC

What!? Nintendo of Europe just tweeted that once again the 3DS eShop would go offline for around 12 hours today ! Looks like the Wii U eShop is totally restored everywhere wich is nice but still. I'm in Mexico anyway but I just hope NoA doesn't do the same for the 3DS eShop.
