Just earlier today, Tom Whitehead wrote a piece contemplating the merits of Nintendo loosening up with its IP, suggesting that the company could benefit from doing more cross-promotional work. It does seem to be logical, as the company's storied and diverse stable of IPs certainly has depth to appeal to consumers that may not necessarily be interested in the traditional game experience. While there may not be any announcements of Nintendo movies on the horizon, there will soon be a more fashionable way to show off your appreciation for Nintendo.

It was just recently revealed that Vans will be producing a collection of shoes featuring Nintendo characters and designs. The designs primarily revolve around the nostalgia of 8-bit, but there's also a few newer designs as well. These Nintendo shoes will begin to show up in June, with some additional design still left to be revealed at a later date. Follow this link, if you'd like to see all of the designs that have been revealed so far. Here are some of our favorites:

What do you think? Would you be interested in any of these shoes? How else would you like to see Nintendo branch out with its IP? Drop us a comment in the section below.
