Well, it's taken a while, but European 3DS owners finally have details on when they can get their hands on Fire Emblem Fates; thankfully the wait won't be too long.
The games - Birthright and Conquest - will arrive on 20th May, while the third storyline - Revelation - will be available from 9th June. A Limited Edition, below, will include all three on one cartridge, however, along with a steelbook, poster and artbook; Revelation will be available first in that edition, as a result.
The rather neat Fates limited edition New Nintendo 3DS XL will also come to Europe.

When is the Special Edition available to preorder??
Thank goodness. I was beginning to think that NoE had just forgotten about this. I understand why the localization has increased the time of release, but not giving it a release date at all? That was horrible, NoE. I'll just be ticking off the time till May 20th then.
With the NX looming at some point in the near-to-middle-distant future, I don't think I'll go for the SE console even though it's rather gorgeous. I still really love my small N3DSes and can't justify buying another. SE game pack though is something I will be hunting down.
I love the fact that the 3DS case in the European version has a new cover that reflects the "complete" nature of the package, as opposed to the U.S. version, which has the cover art for Birthright on one side and Conquest on the other.
That New 3DS is also mighty tempting… though I like the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer design more.
@JMR_Alden I'm in your situation man. I'll be refreshing my screen on GAME, AMAZON till tomorrow morning for the Special Edition.
I'm really scared I may not being able to get to pre-order the limited edition...it was a huge race in NoA just to get the special edition and I still haven't forgotten Ni No Kuni Wizard Collection fiasco...

So glad to get a date on this. The wait has been unbearable for myself and everyone around me. Yet I'm still unsure which side I'll pick first.

@TheXReturns I'm curious, do we know if they'll be using Treehouse's work as a base for localisation, or doing it all from scratch?
Hype! Ridiculous that it took so long! Still this comes out on a day when I have my exams so I'll have to wait I really want that new xl as I love fire emblem but I have the animal crossing new xl and K can't really sell it for enough anywhere to get the fire emblem one!
I will also be getting the limited edition no matter what I've been checking the store every hour for weeks so I will get it!
@Kirigherkins Possibly, it hasn't explicitly been stated, but don't forget it also needs to be localized into French, German, Italian and Spanish(?), so Localization would have easily taken twice as long, more likely three times as long.
This will do for me. Now to play the very fun game of saving up the pennies and staying on alert to pre-order the Special Edition. Fun all around.
@thefudgerman I read that people in America missed the special edition and had to buy all three versions separately :/ Lets hope that doesn't happen to us. I am praying for you

I'm glad that Europeans that want to play this will soon be able to. As for me, I didn't enjoy the Awakening gameplay enough to want Fates.
@sillygostly The NA SE has reversible cover art, which matches the package box and carry bag.
That steelbook is nice. and I really like the map. Wonder why they insist on making different special editions for different countries.

Yay for Europe! Also I just wanna say, this is in my opinion, the BEST game on 3ds period. (I'm playing Conquest by the way). The action, the characters, the story, all amazing.

@Camilla I can't wait! I'm looking forward to hearing what it'll be all about! I still have to finish conquest though of course. Dang this game is amazing.
@NinjaWaddleDee What chapter are you on? Everyone kind of dies no matter what I do in 10. Not even Boo Camp can be beaten without someone eating a fist of death.

@BRAINFOX I'm on chapter 16 currently. I'm also playing on Normal Casual, because if I didn't, I would never beat this game! Chapter 10 is the area defense level right? I just placed people around or on the squares to guard them, and I paired my healers up with stronger allies so that they wouldn't die. Be sure to make use of your environment thingies like the cannons and stuff to take out multiple enemies at a time. This was so far the hardest level in the game for me, but it's doable. Make sure to save often so that you can reset if you make a bad move.
@Camilla I wonder what exactly we'll be doing if we side with neither of them. Its going to be interesting for sure!

@NinjaWaddleDee I made it as far as the turn right after the water evaporates. Everything was going just as planned until Odin was killed by an Oni Savage. It really sucked because I had my Corrin paired with Camilla tanking everything by the ballista while Niles and Azura were softening up the Sky Knights for Mozu and Effie.

@BRAINFOX Yeah thats a pain to deal with! Try saving right after he drains the water, or right before he drains the water. You want to have most of your team left by that point though. Toward the end of the battle though, you'll probably be down to like 3 people like I was lol.
@Camilla Oh snap! How difficult will it be? Conquest hard or birthright hard? Or in between? Also I might skip birthright just because Conquest's story feels darker, which I like. Should I skip birthright?

@NinjaWaddleDee You can do that? I'm doing Hard Classic (to bring glory to Nohr, of course) right now, so I'm not sure if that's possible on this difficulty. All I get during battles is the Bookmark option which is really just a temp save.

Well, good luck getting slammed in nice ubersandwich between Uncharted 4, Doom, Homefront, Mirror's Edge, maybe TW3:Blood and Wine (although rumor has it will be april 23rd) and scalpers, so obviously they won't meet demand, because Nintendo.

@BRAINFOX Actually you may not be able to save mid battle on that difficulty. In not sure because I've never tried it! I'm not hardcore enough I guess. lol good luck with that! Nohr is the best.

Yeeeeees finally~! I am definitely getting the Special Edition and the new 3DS And it's release date is only 3 days after my birthday so if I'm lucky I might get money instead of a present and then I might be able to buy both at once~ :3
Yeah I can't justify selling my animal crossing new 3ds xl it looks amazing anyway! So I'll make sure to wait next time! Still I imported the cover plates for my smaller 3ds so I'm pretty happy with that! Unless someone could tell me a good place to sell my xl? But I'll be checking constantly for that special edition I am not missing out!

I'm glad we have the release date and that package looks sweet. I shall pre-order as soon as it's possible! I'm glad that Fire Emblem has gained a higher profile now. It's always deserved it. Hail Intelligent Systems.
