I'm a big fan of Jeremy Parrish and will probably end up buying these books. I noticed a few questionable design choices (why are the Super NES/Famicom hardware shots of dirty old systems? Was there actually no way around making the VB game shots grey and black instead of red and black?), but they still look interesting.
I really liked Sküljagger: Revolt of the Westicans for Super NES. It was a pretty basic side-scrolling action game, but it came with a lengthy comic book that provided a detailed backstory for the game, which really made it interesting for me.
The item description thing was so baffling in the original Skyward Sword. How on earth did that get past playtesting? Who thought that was a good idea? I mean, it seems like it must have been a mistake somehow.
I like the idea of a Hyrule Castle Lego set, but that just looks dumb. Is that supposed to be the Temple of Time crammed against the right side? What about the little cottage thing on the left? Why are the turrets red and blue?
@twztid13 Lol, do you really believe there is no new Nintendo Switch model being planned? It's been planned since the day the original Switch launched. The only question is when it will be launched, which may or may not be this year.
@twztid13 IIRC, they never said specifically that there wouldn't be any new hardware they just said they had "nothing to announce". Nintendo (and every other hardware manufacturer) will never reveal their plans until they're ready. Hundreds of millions of dollars is at stake and everything is planned and timed months (or years) in advance. They're not going to admit there's new hardware when they still want you to buy the old hardware, and they're not going to change their carefully designed launch strategy because of some random journalist.
I'm playing this more than I played Super Mario 35 or Tetris 99, and I like both Super Mario Bros. and regular Tetris a lot more than Pac-Man. You just have to get used to how fast-paced it is compared to regular Pac-Man, which doesn't take long.

I liked the N64 controller. People who are introduced to it after the system was already dead seem to be confused about how to hold it, but it's simple and no one had any problems with it at the time. I also had no problems with the control stick's reliability, although to be fair, I never played Mario Party.
I still play this game occasionally after four years, it's just amazing. The recent talk of the Switch Pro makes me hope for the possibility of backwards compatibility enhancements for regular Switch titles. Imagine Korok Forest without all the frame rate drops...
It sounds like Skyward Sword to me - "medieval, but not photorealistic". It's also the only 3D Zelda game that hasn't been re-released on another platform.
As much as I liked Link's Awakening, I wouldn't want to see that art style used on A Link to the Past or any other Zelda game. The mainline, more serious 2D Zeldas would look amazing with HD sprites.
@Zidentia Thanks, I didn't know that. It's interesting to think that at the height of the NES's popularity in the US, each had to be at least partially hand-assembled.
I had no idea NES consoles were ever assembled at Nintendo of America. Does anyone know the story behind this and when they stopped doing this? I thought that maybe they would do final assembly in the US in order to be able to put "Made in the USA" on the console, but I've never seen a NES console that said anything other than "Made in Japan".

Re: Talking Point: New Super Mario Bros. Is 15 Years Old, And It's Still Fantastic
I thought New Super Mario Bros. was great, it was the sequels that were disappointing. I want a New New Super Mario Bros. with some originality.

Re: Feature: Zelda: The Minish Cap Is All About Seeing Things From A New Perspective
I love Minish Cap and it’s easily my favorite portable Zelda (unless you count BOTW as a portable Zelda).
Yes, I think it’s better than Link’s Awakening. Fight me.
