I'm also struggling for time this weekend, but with what I have I'll be bouncing between Crypt of the Necrodancer (trying to beat the 4th level) and the Witcher 3.
I put 50 hours into it, loved it, but had a few weeks off to play some other things. Now I'm hyped to restart.
If by some miracle I find myself with more time on my hands I expect I'll start a playthrough of Golf Story. Never played it, very keen to see what the fuss is about. Happy weekend folks.
I remember creating my first Miis on the launch day of the Wii, and the massive Mii collection of all my friends along with freakish creations we made when drunk in my uni flat. It was a brilliant part of owning the Wii, and helped everyone get up for playing whether they were gamers or not.
Ridiculous, the amount of successful ideas Miyamoto has seen through. Or should that be Miiyamoto (soz)
I'm trying to knock off the final few moons in Odyssey after a few years away. It's still my favourite game on Switch. Also Pac-man 99 and Tetris 99, and might give Akuto Showdown a whirl too.
I'll be closing out the final two levels of the excellent Thumper, and knocking off the final stages of Doom 2. Might also give Uncharted 3 a bash on my PS4.
I really enjoyed this article. This kind of lyricism is what we have to resort to, to convey how we feel about this brilliant series. This article and the comments below are tempting me to revisit a game I've never really tried to play
Halfway through my first ever playthrough of Doom 2, which plays delightfully well after all these years, aiming to get to map 22 by Sunday night. And might chip off a bit more of The sWitcher too.
I'm revisiting the excellent Thumper to see if I can grind through the tough second half of the game.
And then I'm finally, finally going to start the Witcher 3 for the first time. My target is to clock up 10 hours by next weekend, which is presumably barely even scratching the surface. I'm really hoping I love this game!
Playing through the final case of the first Ace Attorney game, which is a beauty. Then I'll give Donut County a whirl, and if I get all that done I might launch into my first ever playthrough of The Witcher 3...slightly daunted by that game!
Splitting my time between the highly-festive Outlast 2, and Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney to decompress. I can only manage short sessions of Outlast, it's quite fun but also horrendous. Will likely get some FIFA 19 in during the holidays too
Getting into Ori and the Blind Forest. Stunning-looking game, and got that addictive feeling of exploration down really well. Quite a decent challenge too if the first boss set-piece is anything to go by.
Having been going through Infini which has been a very pleasant surprise, as well as dipping into Q-YO Blaster, and hopefully chipping off the final few hours of Okami before deciding if I can face the post-game content.
@Stevethejedi I agree with you on LM3, was a bit underwhelmed given the reviews and love for the series, though i found the final few floors more enjoyable. Pity really.
On topic, I'll be mainly swapping between Super Mario 35 (so many 2nds, need to get a 1st), and collecting ninji speedrun medals on Mario Maker 2. Might drop in on Smash Ultimate and the £2 copy of Fifa 19 I picked up today!
Wow, very tempted to pick this up. I had a decent time with Transistor, though the art style and atmosphere weren't for me. This whole concept looks way more epic and compelling though. Plus I'm just waking up to the roguelites thanks to Mana Spark, so could definitely be swayed to what looks like a more seminal example of the genre. On the wishlist it goes.
It's all about Okami HD for me. Have returned after 14 years and it's still a very lovely game. You could make a case for it being one of the best-looking games ever, the visuals are timeless.
I'm keeping on with my run through Yoshi's Island - great game - on SNES app, and dipping into 80 Days, Tetris 99 and hopefully a bit of co-op gaming with Luigi's Mansion and Broforce..
I've got my first day off from childcare in months today, and I plan to devote at least three hours of that jumping in with both feet to Wolfenstein II. Been sitting in my backlog for months - today is the day!
Having got the end credits on Astral Chain at last, I'll be winding down from that very good and intense game with some Trials Rising, the Clubhouse Games demo, and checking back with my attempt to find all the hidden exits in super mario world
These round-ups are always a favourite video of the month, though i wish NL could commit to actually reviewing all the games they feature in these vids. Tbf all the ones released so far this month have had a review v intrigued by Summer in Mara and Outer Worlds
@GeeEmm I'm on mission 6, have started to turn a corner a bit so less D grades and more As and Bs - it took a while to get its hooks into me but now I'm enjoying it plenty! Did you find the same?
My other options are continuing with Transistor - another very fine game - and co-op playthroughs of Unravel 2 and Super Mario World. Quality!
It's all about Transistor this weekend. Though, the discovery that I can play SNES games online with a mate was the best thing that happened to me yesterday. Was playing this little-known gem called Super Mario World
Mainly getting into Astral Chain! Finding it bewildering at the moment. I think it'll be my usual platinum games pattern of being hopeless for, say, the first 8 missions and then suddenly being semi-decent. My grades show I'm some way off that still.
Also hoping to finish off Death Squared with my wife, and maybe start Unravel 2 next..
@Benjoo it's not too bad, I just went for all the Teensies (kinda equivalent to moons in Mario odyssey) - there's a bunch more stuff on top which I don't have the will for!
The difficulty curve is so well pitched that it never feels that punishing but a decent challenge. just finished an hour ago, took me about 25 hours...recommended!
I was just sampling SMM2 for the first time when they dropped the latest update so my tiny mind is being blown on all fronts.
I've been having a look through lots of demos this weekend that have been clogging up my switch menu - the Touryst, just shapes and beats, and coffee talk were sampled last night. Tonight maybe Disaster report 4, blasphemous and moving out...
And my main project is 100%-ing rayman legends - I'm getting boring telling everyone I can what a brilliant game this is.
I think this is the week I finally boot up Astral Chain. I've been looking forward to this since it was first revealed but my backlog has stopped me getting to it.
Also I am tracking down those final teensies in the magnificent Rayman Legends, and if I manage that I'll be starting Transistor on the side, which I got for an outrageously low price in an eshop sale six months ago..
As someone who's on the fence on the whole AC thing, this is one of the most persuasive things I've seen to suggest I should actually buy this game. Genius!
Grinding away at Super Metroid - my first playthrough of this classic - and finding those last few teensies on Rayman Legends...if I get through all that I'll be made up.
I enjoyed Oxenfree a lot, and very tempted by this. On the wishlist it goes until sale time!
For those asking about performance issues with Oxenfree, I ran into a couple of bugs and the autosaving really wasn't that clear which led to a couple of annoying times having to repeat sections of the game.
Just completed Starlink: Battle for Atlas this morning after a big binge on it this week. I thought it was...pretty good.
So now have cracked into the demo of Dragon Quest XI to see what all the fuss is about, and I'll boot up Rayman Legends as well at some point because it's absolutely awesome.
On Starlink, it's tough to argue at the price it's at now. I bought a weapon pack DLC on top so I've paid £16 all in. It's not bad, sometimes I find the gameplay loop too repetitive and at other times I'm more into it. Couldn't whole-heartedly recommend it but I don't regret the buy either!!
@JDavies I've got a nearly-2 year-old and I can't wait for the day when it's platforming 101!
I'll be grinding away at Starlink: Battle for Atlas, I think I'm in the final 3rd or so of the game now. Can't say I've loved it but I have rules about finishing games I start...also Rayman Legends for some light relief.

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Games Of 2022
Kinda crazy how few brand new games are on this list. Remakes, collections and reissues are clearly where the money is.
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life eShop Selects - December 2021
What a strong month of releases last month was, I'm so keen to play all of these 3 games and a lot more on the longlist too.

OKAMI. OKAMI. OKAMI.
PS - is anyone still playing Super Mario Bros. 35?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (October 17th)
It's a weekend of wrapping up a few games.
Down to the last handful of levels on Yoshi's Island. It is a classic, though I'm ready to move on, so use of the rewind function is creeping in.
Also trying to find the right build to finish Mana Spark. Keep getting to the penultimate room. It is a little indie gem though, very addictive!
Also want to chip off a little more of my Okami campaign, and look at the demos for Pikmin 3 and Mr Driller. So it's videogame tapas for me.
