@somebread So you think the music has no effect on the customers' enjoyment? You think it has no value or something? Yeah the lame looking wrist band game that looks terrible, I think you find ?blocks and look for nintendo characters hiding in the back grounds. It's all based on the nostalgia, they have a mario movie coming, they changed there plan majorly. I wonder if the Switch will have half a billion dollars invested into it across its entire lifespan. I honestly don't know but I think the theme parks are their biggest investment
@Wexter Another thing about fair use is you are allowed to broadcast a few seconds of copyright material. I have a BA in music industry and actually studied this. Nobody seems to believe me or care though
I'm one of the few people who agreed with Lars Ulrich years ago that Napster was wrong in allowing people to steal music. I'm one of the few who thinks Nintendo is well within their rights and are protecting themselves. The soundtracks are very important to Nintendo, I'm guessing the theme parks need themes to justify their existence and at over a billion bucks of investment Nintendo needs the memorable and popular themes, characters, music to make the theme parks work. If you could listen to someone on Youtube do an amazing cover then why go to Nintendo World? What if a YouTuber make videos on how to reproduce the menu at the Super Mario Cafe? Doesn't leave much for the customer to see if everything is on the internet for free other than the mario kart ride.
@TexanBanjo But there's the mobile pikmin game, I have a feeling that one will make more money than any other pikmin, so it looks to me that Nintendo really care about pikmin and happily put money and resources into the franchise. Maybe they don't need a pikmin 4 if the mobile game is there? We want a pikmin 4 but it might not make sense to Nintendo to make it just yet.
If Metroid Prime 4 has reasons to explore other than missile upgrades and health and ammo i don't need then that's what I'm most excited for. It needs better rewards or completely new weapons that aren't the arm cannon. For a 3d game it feels like a sci fi Kings Field only you have the same weapon all game, no leveling up, no magic and no inventory. I've tried all 3 and finished 2 of them, I really want to like them too.
I read about how amazing it was for years and tried it recently, it kind of sucked. The levels are all screwed up so you have no challenge at all or enemies that take way too long to beat. I never found a good challenge the whole time I was playing.
Except for Ring Fit haven't played my switch in at least 2 years. I've been looking for games that I want but everything interesting I already own on the wii u. Gamepass is filling that gap, and cheaply too.
Old games on sale and overpriced. This is like when the wii was popular and companies tried to sell overpriced junk to the wii user base. Soon people are going to realise they are buying decade old games that perform badly and paying top dollar for it.
Wii u sports club had great side modes for tennis, bowling and golf. They were probably my favourite part of the whole game. Still nothing beats resort. I hope they revist the resort idea again.
XB2 has the main character making a sexbot that asks other characters for advice on how to get him to be romantically interested in her. If you ever saw the movie weird science it's like that but way worse, in weird science their sexbot doesn't want to screw them, she helps them act mature to get a real life girl.
If you just hold the wii u gamepad up and not have it in your lap the control scheme is really good. That way you just shift your eyes a tiny bit to see the second screen, and once you learn the levels you will remember when you need that extra precision of the second screen. There's also a cockpit view option where you see the gamepad screen on the tv and vice versa. You just have to learn the control scheme in your first play through.
Why does it seem like most people are more concerned with Bobby Kotick than the actual rapists and sexual criminals? He was CEO of the offenders and nobody seems to want the names and info of the sexual criminals, only the rich guy matters.
My favorite CRPG designers Brian Fargo announced he would retire after Wasteland 3. Then Microsoft bought him out, all the Bards Tale and Wasteland games came to gamepass and he's decided not to retire and keep making games. So I don't see buyouts as always a bad thing.
@somebread Nintendo payed $580 million to build the theme park in Japan. People pay to go to a Nintendo theme park with only one ride. The rest of the experience is walking around looking at pictures, guys in Nintendo suits, going to the super mario cafe. Nintendo invested so much money in it and it's just the brand: The characters, the music, the art style. That's it, no video games. It is worth insane amounts of money and they have every right to protect themselves.
The original super mario bros theme must be worth an incredible amount of money to them.
@somebread So I actually looked at his channel, there are links to stores that sell the remixes. http://sbfr.dojin.com/ So yeah the traffic drives sales.
@somebread You're actually correct, I didn't research the Youtuber because I don't care too much about it. The guy SnesDrunk had the same thing happen to him a week or 2 ago and he definitely drives traffic to his channel via video game sound tracks. I just assumed this was another uploader like SnesDrunk. And life isn't so black and white, I like SnesDrunk even though I don't like uploaders profiting off other people's work like he did for years. Nobody is perfect.
It's to drive traffic to his channel so he can make money of all the other videos. It happens all the time on Youtube and most people just whinge about big business screwing over the little guy when it's the little guy leeching off the big business. Without the big business there is no content, it's that simple.
Astral Chain had some sweet bosses, Shinji Mikami always seems to prioritize over the top gameplay over anything else and he's doing Ghost Wire. Seems to me both Ghost Wire and Bayo 3 will be better because of this guy. Not sure why everyone her is so obsessed with the title of lead developer?
@Troll_Decimator I pretty sure the lead creator is on a performance based salary, the better the sales the more cash he makes and the better his CV looks. I'm not convinced all these crunch stories are the way they are made out to be, I think the devs choose to crunch or mismanage themselves therefor need to.
@SepticLemon I'm aware of the genre, It's just that I bought a new double pack of bayonetta 1 and 2 for Wii U on launch day for$60 AUD and that's what this game will cost in AUD. I actually like retro shooters but skip them due to borders, newer games without the borders are so much better for me.
I want some nerds to buy EA and then they can bring back Ultima. Start with a remake of Ultima 7 part 1 and 2. That would probably be a huge flop but I'd be happy.
I played it on Steam a couple of years ago. It felt like a 3rd person Metroid Prime or King's Field but more complex and labyrinthine. I really liked it.
@antdickens It's not a joke at gay people it's a joke about Alex Jones and how absurd the concept of turning frogs gay. I suppose you hate that South Park episode with the gay dog? I remember it being funny myself.
I find some of these allegations hard to get behind to be honest. A death threat from 15 years ago that the police have never investigated? Members that aren't the CEO sexually abusing people so make the CEO the bad guy? I'm not saying he's a saint but he probably is happy to take this 300 million severance package and retire. You may all be playing into his plans and giving him another 300 mil to play with in retirement.
Gamers are so holier than thou, I bet almost every fan keeps giving this company money and just whines even more. At least they get to ride the high horse again, and knowing gamers it will last a decade. Too much water, horse armor, the Fable creator everyone hates, Miyamoto ruined this franchise, EA sucks blah blah blah
@Trmn8r I thought that too but I'm pretty sure it's the kid who can shape shift into a hamster from Bayo 2 all grown up. But Bayo looks younger which is a contradiction. Also the different voice artist makes me think. Why get rid of such a good original voice artist? I think the original voice artist is still in the game and the 2 time lines converge
@Aurumonado I think the fake out was a hint that Astral Chain 2 is coming, a few of those monsters at the start looked just like Astral Chain style and they were leased like in Astral Chain

@somebread What if the ball park doesn't have anything else there, like no game happening? Nintendo World is a mario kart ride and a cafe.

@Fulkaffe I doubt Phil is that nice, there's been a Halo soundtrack legal battle going on for years. They are sticking it to the original composer bad

Wii sports and Nintendo Land were so much better than the switch novelty games. They're not even comparable.
