As well as being able to buy the Bill & Ted Collection in physical form for the Switch, you can also buy a physical copy for your PS5. Yes, because that's why I bought a PS5 a few weeks ago - to play old NES or Game Boy games. (I have nothing against old NES or Game Boy games. I play them sometimes. But it's not the reason I bought a PS5.)
Anyway, I looked these two Bill & Ted games up on teh interwebs. It seems the NES game is abysmal and the Game Boy game is OK-ish. So that's one abysmal game and one OK-ish game. I think I'll pass, thanks.
He may call himself 'Doug Bowser', but the president of Nintendo of America is really Vin Diesel. I mean, look at that photo of him. Or he's Vin Diesel's twin brother.
"Strongly recommend saving space and some cash by picking up an amiibo card set for the price of one of these. There's a 28 pack for £14.99 on Amazon right now. So much more convenient if you've no plans to display these and just want the scanning ability."
I'm guessing these cards are unofficial and not licensed by Nintendo. If so then why haven't Nintendo stopped the sale of these cards?
Maybe I got the platinum points error earlier because I was trying to complete the order on my phone. I tried a bit later on a PC with Google Chrome and my order for the three Game Boy posters went through OK. I didn't have enough points for that Zelda keyring though. Perhaps it's because I've not played Tears of the Kingdom yet, but the design on the keyring doesn't look like anything from the Zelda universe to me.
I don't think the rewards you can get for platinum points are as good as the rewards you could get in the old Stars Catalogue. I remember redeeming my Stars years ago for a few game soundtracks, a few of those DS/3DS game card cases, and a few other things I can't remember. The platinum points rewards I've seen aren't that impressive.
I see there were a few responses to my post. It's really just my opinion. If you like amiibos and you want to buy them then fair enough. They're just not my cup of tea. And I stand by my comment that I think they should be used to unlock more substantial content - such as unlocking expansion passes.
I'm a big fan of the Zelda games. But figurines of the games' characters don't really appeal to me. I like to buy the games, books about the Zelda games, and Zelda soundtracks. If Lego were to produce Zelda sets (which is possible, as they're producing Mario and Donkey Kong sets), I would certainly buy them. But amiibo figures don't really interest me.
I'm surprised people still buy these things. In my view, amiibos are cheaply-produced 'made in China' bits of plastic tat. I admit I did buy one amiibo a few years ago - the huge woolly Yoshi. But that was because he was too adorable not to buy.
Amiibos only really unlock cosmetic things, don't they? Things like different outfits for characters in games. That kind of thing, right? The only thing that would really make amiibos worth buying for me would be if things like expansion passes for games could only be unlocked by using an amiibo. Imagine if the expansion pass for Tears of the Kingdom could be unlocked only by using a Zelda amiibo. Now, that would make an amiibo worth buying.
Will I be getting Tears of the Kingdom on Friday? To be honest, I've no idea. I placed an order with Curry's for the collector's edition a couple of weeks ago. They took the payment from my debit card. I've had a look at my Curry's account just now, and it says, "order received". So, not despatched yet. If I'm supposed to receive the game by Friday I assume they would have to despatch it by today.
The pessimist in me says that Curry's will be unable to fulfil my collector's edition order and will cancel it. Anyone else order the collector's edition from Curry's? If so, have they despatched your copy yet?
Not interested. I bought the Play Asia limited edition for my Vita years ago. Besides, even if you put aside the fact that Limited Run sack employees for following the "wrong" Twitter accounts, their service is awful. The time they take to despatch items is woeful. I've had a game on my Limited Run account with the status of "Ready" for weeks, and yet Limited Run have not despatched it. I've no idea when I'll receive my game. I'm sure they were never this bad a couple of years ago.
I think there's a very good chance the Switch will become the best-selling console in history. It all depends on when the Switch is discontinued. All models of the Wii weren't discontinued until a few years after the Wii U launched. And since the Switch's successor won't be launched until 2024 (at the earliest) then the Switch likely won't be discontinued before 2025/26.
So, yes, the Switch has a good chance of beating both the DS and PS2.
Has anyone else ordered the collector's edition of Tears of the Kingdom from Curry's? I happened to look at the Curry's website a few hours ago, and noticed that the collector's edition was available to order. So, I took a chance and placed an order. However, being the natural pessimist I am, I fully expect that Curry's will be unable to fulfil my order, and that they will cancel my order in the next two weeks.
I bought the PS4 collectors' edition of Night Trap from Limited Run Games back in 2017. I still haven't got around to playing the game yet.
Anyway, I thought the thing about the GBA video cartridges was that they could hold only about an hour of video, and the video quality was pretty poor thanks to the compression of the video.
One last thing - I would like to know when I can expect to receive the copy of Xbox One Day of the Tentacle I ordered from Limited Run Games at the beginning of last September. Seven months later and it is still "in production". How long does it take these days for Limited Run to actually ship their games? Is it likely to be something like a year from the time you place your order?
Given the reviews I've read online of Captain U, I don't think the rigmarole you have to go through in order to obtain a code from this final batch is worth it. And it seems that people's direct messages to the developer to request a code are not being sent/received.
I played a bit of Mario Kart Tour a couple of years ago. I wasn't keen on the automatic acceleration in the game. Why couldn't Nintendo have provided support for Bluetooth controllers? Then the game could have had the usual acceleration and braking controls all the other Mario Karts had.
I'm sorry, but it's not a genuine Samba de Amigo game if it doesn't have actual maraca controllers. Shaking the 'cons of joy' on the Switch is no substitute for maracas.
I've owned the Dreamcast game and official maracas for over 20 years. That's how Samba de Amigo should be played.
Actually, it depends on where in the world you are. According to a webpage on Nintendo's Japan website, the 3DS and Wii U eshops close at 9am Japanese Standard Time on Tuesday 28th March. So, for people like me who live in the UK, that's 1am BST on Tuesday. If you live in the US, then the eshops close tomorrow afternoon/evening (depending on where you live in the US).
Did anyone see the topic on Resetera listing the games on the eshops that are exclusive to the 3DS and Wii U? The list they provided of games exclusive to DSiWare has only about 20 titles. Given that there have been over 500 DSiWare games, doesn't it seem unlikely that only about 20 games were exclusive to DSiWare? I'm sure they must have missed some from their list.
Here's the topic from Resetera if anyone wants to have a look at it:
Thanks, Potato-man. I wish I'd known about that code a few days ago, as I topped up my balance back then on my Switch with £110. Oh well. I'll probably be topping up my balance again with another £100 or so in the next few days before the 3DS and Wii U shops close, and so I'll use that code.
By the way, is that code for the Nintendo Life shop permanent, or do they change their discount codes from time to time?
I can't help wondering what the point is in buying all those games that are still available for other consoles or PC. Wouldn't it have made more sense to buy only games that are exclusive to the Wii U and 3DS (or have exclusive features on the Wii U and 3DS)?
Is there anywhere selling Nintendo eshop cards with a discount? I'm planning to top up my account with £100-150, and then buy a load of games/content in the next week. Even a discount of only 5% or so would be good. But I've found nothing. All retailers selling eshop cards in pounds sterling have them at full price.
I've just received one of these postcards today, and I'm someone who has never played Fortnite and has no interest in Fortnite. The iam8bit theory is plausible. I've ordered a few things from them in the last several years (several game soundtrack LPs, No Man's Sky art cards and Edith Finch game). My name and address on the postcard are in the exact same format as what's stored in my iam8bit account (one line of my address that I sometimes omit is missing on both the postcard and my iam8bit account).
Regarding the 441722638030 number, if you replace '44' with '0' then it's a UK phone number. And 01722 is the dialling code for Salisbury.

"all to celebrate the 1993 movie's 30th anniversary"
Ha. This is Limited Run Games we're talking about here. You'll be lucky if you receive your Jurassic Park game before the film's 35th anniversary.
My copy of Day of the Tentacle has been 'ready' and 'unfulfilled' for almost three months. Maybe one day Limited Run Games will post me my game.

I keep getting this too. Is it because I earned the points on Mario Run?
