Re: Sonic Origins Receives Rating In South Korea, Key Art Discovered

russell-marlow

@MsMaestroon You can always, I dunno... just emulate them on a PC if you want. They can't be that hard to emulate on any modern computer, can they?

As for the Adventure games, they are a solid good time, even if the first game has some filler content. The second game doesn't waste any time, and it's usually everyone's favorite 3D Sonic game.

If they were to re-release them, it would be nice if they remastered them like how NIghtDive Studios does there remasters and added a cel-shaded look to both games, while giving the option to Switch between old and new graphics.

Re: Cult Classic Action Game 'El Shaddai: Ascension Of The Metatron' Is Getting A Switch Port

Heard about this game once and saw that it was inspired by the Biblical book of Enoch, which isn't apparently canon to the actual Bible.

Not too mention, it takes a lot liberties with it's interpretations of the depictions of most of the characters in game. Like the giants, they have been a bit, uh... artistically Japanified to look simple and cute. Much to my personal annoyance how some artists do that when interpreting other cultures myths.

Re: Random: Krystal's OG Voice Actor Reprises Role For Half-Life 2 Mod

@AstroTheGamosian I just Google searched up that model you mentioned and I was immediately greeted with vore pics (Eww gross)

Look, I know you guys like Krystal, in that way , but can y'all please refrain from posting cringe on here, please?

Also, despite some people saying they didn't like Krystal in those games, I would also feel the same way if not the fact that there's a website that exists, that literally worships her existence. I like the character because maybe her and Fox can have story potential together if future games explored that a bit in-depth, maybe her being a telepath could be an interesting dynamic in their relationship, I dunno.

But look, can y'all Krystal cultists please chill for a bit?
You're making us other Star Fox fans look like legit weirdos if we even mention a passing liking of the character in a discussion of Star Fox in general.

Re: Ark: Ultimate Survivor Edition Promises 'Complete Revamp' Of Switch Visuals And Performance

So if they are saying that this is a retail release and that this new version will supposedly look and play better, then color me interested. But I'm of course, cautiously optimistic about this whole announcement.

Also, if the "retail" version of the game is not on a physical cartridge and instead a download code in a box, then that's almost a deal breaker for me.

If CD Projekt Red could port a whole butt-load of a last gen open world game like the Witcher 3 onto Switch all onto a 32 Gigabyte cartridge, then I hope this game looks about as well as that game does.

@GinMiguel Someone needs to tell Shigeru Miyamoto to make another Star Fox game that isn't a remake of 64 for the tenth time.

Star Fox Zero was like the Metroid Other M of Star Fox games, fan feedback was so polarizing and sales were not-so-great on the Wii U, that it almost felt like they knew it was going to fail, so they sent it to die anyway.

I will never understand Nintendo's hubris when it comes to making games like Star Fox Zero. It was a game that already had a niche audience on a poorly selling console with controller gimmicks that not everyone was accustomed too.

Was anyone thinking whether or not this would sell well on a console that had an already dwindling audience or was it just the only way Nintendo could greenlight a Star Fox game if it had a controller gimmick shoe-horned in?

After seeing how the only true Metroid game that was released the last decade was Samus Returns on 3DS, I have a suspicious feeling that's the only way Nintendo tests the potential for a sequel to a series that hasn't sold as well as their mainline titles like Mario or Zelda. If it sells decently, there's a chance of a new game. If it doesn't, I guess wait for another decade long hiatus for a new game to maybe be considered. Ugh.

Re: Nintendo Teases New Course For Mario Kart Tour's Next Update

russell-marlow

So, what's the best guess on how often on a monthly bases we'll be receiving these new DLC courses and if there will be bonus unlockables like characters or karts?

Time Trials are available for some of the new courses, so that must mean there has to be some sort of reward planned out, right?

Edit: I thought this was Booster Course DLC for MK8 but I read the title wrong

Re: Random: Requests For Zelda Ports Increase Following BOTW 2 Switch Delay

russell-marlow

So many Wind Waker fans and not enough Twilight Princess appreciators, smh.

Anyways, if Nintendo wants to port both games onto Switch they better add new modes and maybe something to spice up gameplay like maybe a "rogue" or "randomizer" mode that changes what enemies you fight like imagine in the some of the first areas you come across some high level enemies early on.

Or maybe randomize where you find quest/key items out of order to make things interesting.

Ever since Miiverse went down, those rewards that you get from chests in Twilight Princess HD have become pretty much useless since you can't post them anywhere.

Re: Feature: 5 Accessibility Features That Every Game Should Have

russell-marlow

@UltimateOtaku91 They don't have too. They create the game the way they want too and the Souls-series of games still sell well regardless.

It's just that western gaming journalists have an unhealthy obsession with telling gaming publishers and developers what too do and to lower their game's difficulty, even if the game already has an option for that.

Whatever the case, sometimes this obsession with difficulty leads developers towards making easy games by default or not having a difficulty mode for an easy game, or even making the game's difficulty unbalanced even on harder modes.

Either way, I'm glad Fromsoftware makes somewhat difficult games though there needs to be a fine line between making a game difficult but fair and making a game that's just unreasonably tough like some old-school arcade games.

And also, as great as the Souls games are, it would be nice if so many indie game developers stopped copying the formula of those games just because they're popular. It really stifles the creativity of the industry if everyone just makes the same Dark Souls clone but with minor tweaks to the gameplay. I'm getting annoyed of seeing those gloomy 2D style games pop up on the Eshop.

Re: Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Hits Switch This June

russell-marlow

@MythTgr That's because it has "Zelda" in the title. Brand recognition is strong and I imagine Hyrule Warriors, the previous game before Age of Calamity, didn't sell as much as the Nintendo endorsed spin off game.

The way Koei Tecmo pumps out these games, I wouldn't be surprised if there was an Age of Calamity 2 released after the Breath of the Wild sequel. But I can't imagine it would sell as well because I think some people were duped into thinking this was a mainline Zelda game. After two entries, people would probably be burnt out already.

Re: Good Smile Company Announces Figma Samus Aran: Metroid Dread Version

russell-marlow

Okay seriously, what does it take for Goodsmile/Figma to make figures of other Nintendo characters besides the one's that are currently relevant?

Is it just popularity, is that what's this is all about?

When will they get the message from fans that there are other Nintendo characters from series as popular as Smash Bros. who have their own series that may not be as popular but are still relevant to an extent, like Fox Mccloud or Captain Falcon.

Re: Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Hits Switch This June

russell-marlow

@Silly_G That's just a collection, not a new game. While it's nice that we got a minimalistic port of those games, Koei Tecmo keeps churning out these Warriors games like Activision or EA does with COD or Battlefield.

We're not even getting ports of fighting games like Dead or Alive, just the sort of pervy Beach Volleyball game spin-off game instead.

If I am being honest, with how frequently they release these Warriors spin-off games they really slowly start to show how not very unique they are.

Re: French Retailer Lists Batman: Arkham Collection For Switch

russell-marlow

@Rika_Yoshitake If half of them are digital download-only, then I'd say some backlash is warranted.

I can't imagine if they'll be able too fit Arkham Knight, but if they can't, they probably shouldn't.

Witcher 3 is probably the only large scale PS4 game that was compressed and ported over to Switch and imagine that it took a lot of effort too do so.
