Re: Talking Point: The Wii U's 'Relevance' Is About Sales, Nintendo's Strategy Has Remained Consistent

@Kirk I don't typically buy Nintendo consoles for 3rd party content. I think exclusives Nintendo are usually a real gift. Look at mh3u and wonderful101. I had an xbox and now a ps4 for that junk. But 3rd party support isn't always a good thing. Yeah every now and then you miss out on a new Fallout or Bioshock but the number of 3rd party games that are awful are really high. At least Nintendo is uncluttered and almost always goty quality

Nobody cares about the controller anymore. I don't think the console is underpowered, I just want a year like last years 3ds. There was a confidence you could feel with the 3ds games that came out each month. We we're hit with superior games each month that were better then the last. If they just released a ridiculous amount of high end top notch games that aren't 2d side scrollers for the Wii U the console would be cool. People were having so much fun with the 3ds it was a great year. The a Wii U realistically needs right now a full fledged 3d Metroid Prime to be anounced this summer with Zelda coming out at the end of the year. No delays no more 2d side scroller crap. Get smash and Mario kart out as soon as possible, ridiculous amount of advertising they need to smother titanfall and remind people why Nintendo is "fun" while their competition is releasing unfinished half a games

Re: Talking Point: Claims of Wii U Third-Party Development Troubles Shouldn't Be Dismissed Lightly

@electrolite77 Killzone looks good but not much better than a 360 game. I see the gap of technology and graphics to be smaller this generation. A lot of major titles are only being released on xbox 360 and ps3. An hd Mario kart or smash bros is enthralling and more people get excited about that rather than another Skyrim or Fallout. Not to mention Nintendo hits all ages families and all demographics, heck even a China wouldn't blink to bring the products to its market. Nintendo is doing well, the Wii U is fine now it will be all about the games and I don't see much that can compete with Nintendo. So call me crazy I see Nintendo in the right spot right now ready to secure 2014.

Re: Tech Site The Verge Thinks The Wii U's Failure Won't Change Nintendo

I actually think the Wii U will dominate the market. I think it needs a price cut but families are more interested in Nintendo than Sony or Microsoft. Sony survives on 3rd party games and Microsoft completely blew it with the one. They aren't doing as well as the Wii U did at launch and I don't see why people think the other consoles won't suffer the same slowdown fate. Can Destiny and elder scrolls keep people interested in 2014? Even when they come out late in the year.

Re: NPD Results Deliver a 3DS Milestone And Modest Wii U Sales

The ps4 right now is feeling like a giant paperweight. With a ton of games recently delayed I'm really hoping some games come out. Perhaps Nintendo is waiting for people to see how boring the new consoles are knowing that they have more than a few superior games. Pikmin 3 itself is a good reason to go Wii U right now. The drought has started with the xbox and ps4 consoles.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Appearance at VGX Underwhelmed, But the Show Itself Was Far Worse

rmeyer

Nintendo was smart in keeping it low key as the show was trying to be e3 in December. Is it sad to say that Cranky Kong was the highlight of the show? I enjoyed Nintendos segment and wanted to die when they were showing off theif for an hour picking grand theft auto like they do every year even when it doesn't exist. Honestly in shocked some were expecting much from this show. Nintendo did a lot making an appearance and the got some awards which usually never happens from VGA so ultimately a success in my opinion. A link between worlds won best handheld game to people that don't know anything about video games says a lot.

Re: Soapbox: Even With The Arrival Of PS4 And Xbox One, I'd Still Pick The Wii U

rmeyer

399 is such a great price point for the ps4 I'm happy I bought it. Killzone is pretty good (even though I have no idea how to play multiplayer on it). Launches are difficult as you have to convince 3rd party to move to the next generation and few have yet. I think games like Pikmin 3 really make you love Nintendo, they just jam pack the quality and I think they'll still remain dominant unless developers step up in the quality department. Time will tell.

Re: Former Naughty Dog And THQ Head Jason Rubin Says Nintendo Is "Irrelevant" In The Hardware Arena

rmeyer

First of all Nintendo would never release it's games on competitors devices. I think he's nuts to say such a thing but I do like promotional apps on android or the iPhone like Mario brothers or an overhead Zelda game partial that could help advertise for a link between worlds. Most people are on cell phones and the iPad these days so they should really consider making simple apps that can further promote the stuff they have on the 3ds and Wii u.

Re: PS4 and Xbox One Surpass Wii U Lifetime Sales in the UK

rmeyer

We won't know how Nintendo did until January. I bet the ps4 is doing well because it's a great price and quality hardware, what the ps3 wasn't. What's being promoted and what actually sold is different. I do know Nintendo has sold a lot of Wii Us this Black Friday and were surprisingly sold out everywhere I was at.

Re: Cliff Bleszinski Thinks Super Mario 3D World Is "A System Selling Title"

@unrandomsam as simple the change is 4 player coop through a 3d world has never really been done well until now. This game is a great party game when online multiplayer is overkill and people want to hang out and laugh. Nintendo reinvents social atmospheres in a world where people are getting more disconnected by electronics.
