Re: Review: Wheel of Fortune (Wii U)

@Chrono_Cross What the hell are you talking about?

"The metaphor implies that the creators showed little care for the original software, as if the new compilation or version had been indiscriminately created/ported with a shovel, without any care shown for the condition of the software on the newly created product"

Are you serious? Do me a favor and climb out of my tushie, cause I'm sick of your stupid assumption jumping posts.

When did I ever say anything like "Half-Life and FFVII is shovelware lol"? WHEN!?

COD constitutes shovelware, because each new entry is quickly made (like I said, not when they have to update the engine for consoles and such). Capcom makes quick ports, THOSE ARE SHOVELWARE.

I never said Half-Life is shovelware, I never said anything like that. You should honestly stop putting words in my mouth and close yours.

Re: Review: Wheel of Fortune (Wii U)

rayword45

@TheKingOfTown A rating doesn't necessarily indicate shovelware.

Spirit Hunters got a 3/10 but was in development for over 1.5 years. Not shovelware.
Duke Nukem Forever took over a decade to develop, and sucked. DEFINITELY not shovelware.

New COD games are of the same quality, and are debatably shovelware since they're the same engine typically, with only a few new maps that fans could make and a short, short campaign. Probably took very little to make (although whenever the engine is updated.that takes more.)
EA, Activision and Capcom are all incredibly guilty of making shovelware. I'd argue the same for Nicalis in terms of indies. Still, all these games are of consistent quality.

Re: Nintendo Gives US Government Recommendations on Tackling Piracy Abroad

@SpecialHam Celebrities get special treatment all the time. Chris Brown gets off ofassault charges, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton have escaped crack charges how many times now? And Scarlett Johansson threw the guy who exposed her breasts in jail for LONGER THEN MURDER AND RAPE CASES.

Now then, I challenge you all, tell me you never downloaded an illegal song. If you can honestly say that good (though iTunes also sucks and buying from anywhere but the label is spiked prices)

Re: Amazon UK Lists Wii Mini For £79.99

rayword45

@bahooney While that is true, vinyl is costly, bully, and any specks of dust result in snaps and oops. Compared to a FLAC or 24/96 WAV with high-quality headphones, the difference is negligible enough to basically rack up pretentious people and DJs alone (with more then a few exceptions)

Re: Review: Cake Ninja XMAS (DSiWare)

rayword45

@Reviewer How far did you get in this game?

Because I take back what I said. This game should be a 1 for being a glitched-out piece of crap.

Level 1-34 is all the same.
If you got to level 35, that boss is passable with practice.
Level 36-43 unfairly fast but whatever.
Level 44 and past IT'S BROKEN AS F***. The glitches hurt your eyes and your score. Black boxes (passable before) are everywhere, half the snowballs disappear out of nowhere, you lose lives completely unfairly (because they get launched while in aiming mode).

If you'd like, I can record a video of this mess.

Re: Wii Mini Shifts 35,700 Units in Canada

rayword45

I can get a pre-owned Wii for like, $50-65 on eBay .

What kind of sales were they expecting? By American expectations that would be horrendous for an obscure Japanese retail game but I don't know what gaming is like in Canada.

Re: Bioware: "No Plans" To Bring New Mass Effect 3 DLC To Wii U

rayword45

@Bankai 2nd comment

Yes, it's true that many people lack a PS3 or Xbox 360. However, upon seeing the other package, they may want to avoid in hopes of a future port of said trilogy.

Or maybe even avoid it simply due to the complete lack of fair treatment. Now, I'm not saying EA has any sort of obligation, but when people see what they get, and then compare that to the deals others are getting, they'll be pretty pissed. That's why people weren't happy with a lack of sales of the Wii/DSi shop, since I have no good examples here.

Re: Bioware: "No Plans" To Bring New Mass Effect 3 DLC To Wii U

rayword45

@Bankai You can't be serious. You're a consumer too.

Wii U has Mass Effect 3, unsupported for $60
Other consoles have each game for MUCH less, and then a trilogy with all DLC for the same as a single game from the trilogy with practically no DLC.

Let's say you're a schoolteacher. Brand new kid, you give him a test 3 times as difficult as every other student, and no calculator, no ruler, nothing. You aid the other kids but not that kid.

Who's at fault? You could say the student, but I wouldn't.

Re: Review: Yoshi (3DS eShop / NES)

rayword45

You're being too nice to these retro games Chicken.

I'd give it one point lower. It's fun for short bursts, but pretty bad value and I personally thought the graphics were pretty ugly considering the time.

Re: You, Me, and the Cubes Designer Dies Ages 42

rayword45

That's sad. You, Me and the Cubes was one of the good WiiWare games. Gonna check out his other works.

A notice from an Asian person: If eating habits in Asia (AKA high sodium) stays the same, we're going to have to see a lot of this. That's not necessarily indicating this is one of those cases though.

Re: Rayman Legends Challenge Mode Coming Exclusively To Wii U This April

rayword45

@WaveBoy Glorified Flash games?

I seriously don't understand you at times. This isn't bashing, it's just me being confused at how you bash on games like Jett Rocket and Gunman Clive (some of the best budget titles around) and use the most generic titles possible as comparison (Mutant Mudds and SM3DL). And now you call Rayman Origins, one of the best platformers of the last generation, a glorified flash game when the 2D platformers you listed before are far inferior?

Re: Review: 99Moves (DSiWare)

rayword45

Yeah, 7/10. Disappointingly short and lacking in replay value but for 2 bucks it's a stylized arcade blast.

While accessibility is understandably a factor, the difficulty isn't too fair to judge as a sole factor unless it has awkward spikes.

Re: Review: Mega Man 2 (3DS eShop / NES)

rayword45

@Philip_J_Reed You didn't really go over it in the review. That's what I'm getting at, since that's like a third of the game.

Also, Donkey Kong was an arcade game, meaning high-scores were a major factor.

Re: Review: Mega Man 2 (3DS eShop / NES)

rayword45

@GN0LAUM That's where you're wrong. I love the mega Man series (or at least the first 3 games). I'm just trying to offer a perspective.

Game length is a major factor, how is it not/ Even though it's an NES game, it's quite short by modern standards.

And yes, guess-and-check is a problem in any game even when it's enjoyable. Guessing shouldn't be a factor especially in cases like this when you can be completely screwed by it.

That, and as I said before, the level design isn't always the best. Mega Man 3 had much better level design IMO.

Re: Review: Mega Man 2 (3DS eShop / NES)

rayword45

10/10? I disagree with that. The game isn't lengthy, it requires a bit of guessing without any help (since certain stages you have to know the tricks and powers needed), and at times the level design could use polish. I realize the first 2 are part of the style of Mega Man in general but still, don't think guess-and-check gameplay should be rewarded.

That's not me hating, as I still love this game (and Mega Man 3 moreso), it's just trying to provide a somewhat objective point of view. The music is still top-notch I'll give you that.

Also, just pointing out you didn't talk about Dr. Wily's Castle.

Re: Kid Icarus: Uprising

rayword45

@DarkCoolEdge Circle Pad Pro would suck. If you have one, move with the face buttons and aim with the circle pad. You'll see why. They should've supported it anyways though.

Did you like games like Moon, Dementium or Metroid Prime Hunters?

Re: Review: Ikachan (3DS eShop)

rayword45

@Chrono_Cross Well, I'll have to disagree with that. I actually liked NightSky the least, but that I felt was a much more artistic game.

Also, over Cave Story, what's a better example of Metroidvania-style platforming in your opinion? Even with the linearity, it's better then, say, Shantae: Risky's Revenge (the other highly revered indie example I can think of) and has far less flaws.

VVVVVV is overrated, I'll be fair about that.

Re: Review: Babel Rising (WiiWare)

rayword45

Oy, religious propoganda.

But yeah, there's no reason this should get on and Binding of Isaac shouldn't, other then stuff like blood and fecal matter that's already in other games.
