Again, it's effing abhorrent of Nintendo to patch Ninjhax, a piracy incapable, no profits lost exploit, but leave Sky3DS, a piracy only, no homebrew flashcart absolutely unscathed.
"Loath" in the articles context is spelled like that. Just a minor nitpick.
And do people actually want official iPhone or Android emulation? I ask this because there are hundreds of emulators already on the store. And before you delete this comment, I'm not advocating you use those emulators. If you were to use one of those emulators, you'd realize that trying to play games meant for buttons on a touchscreen SUCKS CHIHUAHUA JEWELS
I swear to whatever mothereffing god there is in the sky, the world needs to have less mules and sheep, because lord only knows what it would take to teach them anything.
On a less condescending but equally negative note, this game went for being $4 in value to $50 in less than 20 hours due to scalpers and that's disgraceful. Yet another ugly side of the homebrew world which just can't catch a clean break when it comes to reputation.
Honestly I wish NintendoLife would stop posting stories about this. I'm not complaining about journalism quality, that's fine. It's just that every damn time this story comes up people starting whining and pissing and screaming "dirty pirate!" even though
A. This has absolutely nothing to do with piracy B. Piracy is already very much possible on 3DS and has been for like a year.
And then we have region lock defenders, who need no mention for how asinine their argument is.
It's interesting to think that not really that long ago, 2010 was considered a distant future... Actually, wait, they made a game with planet hopping and cyborg cops and chose 20 years a future? What the hell kind of logic is that? Why not 3100 or 20X6 or something?
Any company trying to keep modders out look no further than the PS3 to see exactly what and what NOT to do. They had OtherOS, nobody skilled cared enough to find an exploit. Remove that, DING DING DING exploit for all y'all mothers.
A region free system with enough capabilities to please a homebrew dev is less likely to attract hackers.
Man, some of you guys are ignorant as all hell. The very nature of this exploit IS TOO LOW LEVEL TO ALLOW ANY PIRACY. Besides that, there are already piracy exploits by the means of flashcart, and those guys definitely don't want to stop monetization of piracy. This guy wants nothing to do with piracy, and maybe if you READ anything at all about the exploit you'd stop jumping to conclusions.
The vast majority of you should never get jobs in law or politics because your comprehension skills are either blatantly below par, or you're too damn lazy to read.
Anyways, unfortunately I believe the most outright offensive comments he has made have been lost to the purging of data on his own website... I mean why make yourself look bad when you can simply be a closet jerk?
Fun games with good graphics, brilliant missions, catchy music and controls that aren't totally clunky include World of Goo, Space Invaders Get Even, Fluidity, Toki Tori, Jett Rocket, the list goes on.
Almost two years after commenting I still think this game is a damned joke of an FPS.
I found out about this guy through his cover of My Girls by Animal Collective.
His stuff clearly takes quite a bit of talent, and that cover was fantastic. I'd like to see him attempt a live performance, just to see how he would handle it.
I'd feel kinda bad saying I don't want to purchase this because I don't agree with some of the political stances of it's creator, even though those were comments made several years ago.

-Leaps of faith -Offscreen enemy placement -Highly crapluck-based jumps
When you jump in a game, only to hit offscreen spikes which you had NO WAY of knowing about, I consider that cheap. I didn't even think MM was that hard, but when it was hard, it was hard in the wrong way. Thinking about another game, Super Meat Boy did have a fair amount of crapluck jumps, but nothing absolutely terrible in terms of spike/enemy placement.
@CountWavula I don't understand why you feel the need to constantly bash Shin'en even when it's completely unrelated to the topic.
For the record, there's pretty much the same amount of originality between Mutant Mudds and Jetty Rocket. Very little. But on the plus side, Jett is, yes, prettier, and relies a lot less on cheap level design.
This is dumb as hell. You don't shut down a school because a few idiots draw penises on the bathroom wall. You punish the kids who drew them, not the entire school. Nintendo, get your crap straight with this online business. Miiverse is just as bad as Swapnote from what I've heard.
@Link-Hero Disagree. The way they acted towards things like Let's Plays and Streaming Gameplay makes me think they're quite uptight with any of their properties.
Simple as that. For those of us who enjoy homebrew, I'm all for region locking. But then with the hindrance of piracy, perhaps region locking isn't the best idea.
I'm going to say that no matter what, there will be efforts to hack a system. But stuff like region locking and DRM make people want to hack it more.
I'll find a boxed copy for cheap now that I read this. A couple of people who I met through rhythm game communities claim this game is actually quite fun.
EDIT: You can find complete copies for as cheap as $12 nowadays, $15 if you don't wanna deal with shipping.
And the boxed copy has a reported length of 4-5 hours so I suspect that's the better deal.

Re: 3DS System Update 9.3.0-21 Introduces a Shuffle Option for HOME Menu Themes
The fact that they patched Ninjhax while leaving the much more despicable, PIRACY-ONLY SKY3DS unscathed is kinda gross.

Take a long vacation, then come back refreshed with a new mindset and new plans.
New mindset and plans for a Kid Icarus sequel.
Re: Nintendo Download: 16th October (North America)
Not sure if it's really a game but technically, the first non retro game was PokeDex 3D.
And then, not sure if it's original but there was Let's Golf 3D.
Then Pyramids
Re: Sorry, Contrary to Rumours the New Nintendo 3DS Will be Region Locked
I'm very pleased to learn that Nintendo has not learned from their past nor the past of their rivals.
There's gonna be an exploit for homebrew much sooner than if they had left it region free

Yeah there is no reason to support a region lock.

Bizarre? Very. But there is a little bit of a market there.

BUT! One rather notable example exists here http://www.dsipaint.com/memberblog.php?blog=43146
Look for HullBreach in the comments and read his statement about bisexuality. There used to be much worse but this is still pretty bad IMO.

Re: Video: Here's Some Battle Footage From Wii U Space Sim Hullbreach: Uncloaked
I wasn't gonna buy this because I don't have a Wii U.
If I got a Wii U I was gonna skip it because of the creators homophobic comments.
But now, even if he retracted those statements, I wouldn't buy it cause the game looks like horse crap!

Re: The Year of Luigi Officially Ends on 18th March
@Mr-DNA Waluigi needs a year. He's been shafted WITHOUT getting a game like Mario is Missing or Luigi's Mansion. XP
Re: The Year of Luigi Officially Ends on 18th March
I would like a Year of Wario myself. So we'd finally get WarioWare 3DS and a new Wario Land
Re: Video: This Is What The First Half Hour Of Kirby: Triple Deluxe Looks Like
Damnit they should've taken the opportunity to move the series into 3D platformer territory.
Ah well. Hopefully the Wii U.

Re: Renegade Kid Teases Announcement for "FPS Lovers and 3DS Owners"
I still want a multiplayer FPS with four separate control types
Metroid Prime: Hunters-type
Kid Icarus: Uprising-type (basically the above with flick motion)
Face Buttons to aim (lmfao)
Circle Pad Pro to aim
Then we can see which one is the best once and for all
Re: Review: NES Remix (Wii U eShop)
2 semi-WarioWare games on Wii U and none on 3DS. By Nintendo anyways.

Not much of a surprise. I find the tropical theme kinda hilarious considering the title.

@MarkyVigoroth No that was Hockey Allstar Shootout (although it was on WiiWare World).
It COULD be many of the VC games but VC-Reviews was 1-5 stars so those were all rerated.

I wait for them to attack people who are ACTUALLY preventing VC sales such as ROM sites, or even VirtualNES. This is just a college kid having fun.

Re: Review: EarthBound (Wii U eShop)
Well, for the sake of integrity, this review is 100% different but still written by Corbie. Offers a nice different view (please don't delete this): http://web.archive.org/web/20090515114612/http://www.super-nes.com/earthbound.htm
So I think he's being kinda generous with the 9.
Re: Review: EarthBound (Wii U eShop)
Funny how people are objecting to a 9 when many years ago on a separate site Corbie gave this game a 6. How would people have reacted to that? XP
