Re: Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima Feels The 3DS Can "Continue In Its Own Form"

@Pokefanmum82 I won't buy Switch, either, but only b/c I usually take a few years to adopt a new system. I think backwards compatibility will be managed differently than having native hardware/software emulators in the system. I see them porting a few of the Wii U titles to it, not to mention all previous Virtual Console releases. I think it will be interesting to follow Switch news all next year as I continue to purchase 3DS and PS Vita titles. I am also surprised no one has mentioned the fact that Switch is essentially PS Vita + PSTV rolled into one.

@invictus4000 Have you ever played Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and one of the beginning quests that has you gathering in the lake and then a Lagiacrus comes out and scares the crap out of you? This is one of my most vivid memories in video games. Have you ever made it far enough in any of the games to hunt large monsters?

@LasermasterA My 3DS XL's circle pad came off and in its wake left a nub that was still fully functional albeit was a bit painful to use for longer sittings as the small thing dug into my thumb. Also, the D-pad is cracked (still fully functional) and the casing around the right shoulder button is cracked however it is still a fully workable machine even after 1650+ hours of Monster Hunter play (from all 3 releases combined) not to mention the other games I've played on it.

Re: Nintendo Download: 27th October (North America)

@Clockwerk To be fair, even though the games that were out since launch are at full price, they have all gone on sale. I got both Super Mario 3D Land and New Super Mario Bros. 2 free through Club Nintendo and Paper Jam and Luigi's Mansion for $30 CAD in eshop sales. I feel like Switch will just have games from every single one of Nintendo's platforms, handheld and home console, past and present. I even feel they will port/remaster Wii U titles for it. I think they will do this with Xenoblade Chronicles X and Bayonetta 2 b/c for all the work that went into them, the small Wii U user base inhibited their full sales potential.

I'm with the others who don't mind there's no Halloween sale. Corpse Party physical is 59.99 CAD and with my Amazon PRIME free trial (20% off new releases) plus $10 off code in my email, I was able to get the price down to 37.99 CAD for the Back to School Edition (eshop price is 34.99 CAD).

I hope they announce a Part Two. I am playing Hotel Dusk currently and I keep on playing despite its drab-ness just to find out at the end if it was all worth it. There's an element of challenge in that if you choose wrong answers, it will lead you to a Game Over screen and have to restart the chapter from the beginning so you have to be careful with your choices. I want Jake Hunter 3DS, as well. The more detective games, the better.

Re: Review: Disney Magical World 2 (3DS)

This is an insta-buy based on the fact I've played the first almost to the end with few stickers remaining and it was a game I would find myself coming back to b/c you really can't find fault with the gameplay and this one looks even more fantastic. It's better than Animal Crossing. Sorry. The friendly facade of the AC residents masked the tedium that lied ahead. I have never felt Disney Magical World to be tedious or "too kiddy". Even combat is solid and male characters can wear dresses <3

Re: Review: Disney Magical World 2 (3DS)

@plug313 You can skip the original b/c it appears clothing and possibly furniture carries over however there are exclusive worlds to each title. I don't know if you'd want to play both b/c the gameplay appears largely the same here. The original might be going for cheaper and goes on sale, too. There's always the fact that if you play DMW 2 first, the original might be less satisfying.

Re: Capcom UK Gets Hopes Up for a Localisation of The Great Ace Attorney

<-- See profile GIF...

This is the internet and so many things get easily and unnecessarily misunderstood so if it's not part of a true reveal, the CAPCOM UK staff member (didn't know there was a CAPCOM UK...) should issue an apology for getting peoples' hopes up. It's best to tell yourself it's not gonna happen. That way, when it does happen, you'll be pleasantly surprised and if it doesn't, then you've already accepted a loss and moved on. We should look at it as a positive that the tweet, at the very least, gained attention and a little buzz for the game.

One of the best ways to show Capcom you want 'The Great Ace Attorney' aside from writing letters to the company and asking at the live-streams is to BUY Ace Attorney games in your area so I will buy this game but also b/c I would be just as upset if it weren't localized. I expect news concerning The Great Ace Attorney to surface in the next few weeks.

Re: Monster Hunter Generations September DLC Includes Star Fox and Strider Gear

ollietaro

In 3 Ultimate I left all of the DLC quests to do at the end however most weapons/armor capped at High Rank rarity levels in raw damage/defence so there was no incentive for me to embark on any of them. Now, the strategy with DLC quests is to do them as soon as you're able to b/c the gear they provide will only be useful in the moment as most did not upgrade as far as endgame rarity levels.

Re: Gallery: Take a Better Look at July's Monster Hunter Generations DLC Goodies

Does anyone else note the 3D effect has changed in this outing? There is not as much depth between objects both in the towns and areas. It feels like this was a corner to cut in order to include all of the content. I noticed a similar effect in Majora's Mask 3D where there were flickers of objects flattening as in they weren't completely in 3D all of the time.

@happylittlepigs Like you, I didn't really like the game and I realized that by the time I was about to begin the water dungeon and since haven't played to completion. I can't cite anything particularly wrong with it. I want to say its rigid structure was a factor in losing interest. Maybe it was just a case of preference.

Re: Review: Monster Hunter Generations (3DS)

@tabris95 3U is also my favourite. I loved swimming and the underwater areas were cool b/c they added mystery. I like the areas better than 4U b/c they had natural beauty. The areas seemed uglier in 4U and the monsters were crazy lol

Re: Review: Monster Hunter Generations (3DS)

Good. The amount of text in 4U bothered me to the point of skipping it. It would be nice to see the monsters being a threat to the town by charging towards it in an in-game (not separate film) animation instead of the threat just being described through dialogue alone.
