This is what happens when Nintendo and Capcom make love. There is even Animal Crossing crossover content? Then why the hell wasn't Brachydios included in Super Smash Bros. 3DS?!!
I definitely am more attracted to Story Of Seasons than The Lost Valley. I love the art style in this one over the other. Playing this and Fantasy Life should be fun!
As I have access to the DS versions already and played thru Justice For All and 4/5 of the first one, I'd like to know how much new content, if any, is in this re-release. I dunno how it'll be playing thru the same cases twice. I played them exactly a year ago so I guess I'll wait until I forget what happens LOL
This is not fair. Too much crossover for this title and MonHun gets no love in Super Smash Bros.?! Who here thinks Lagiacrus and/or Brachydios should have been a fighter in Super Smash Bros.?
The Euros deserve some luv since they don't always get the same games that US/Canada gets. On the contrary, there are EU-only releases...I just don't know what they are.
Isn't DQ10 coming out in English?? And I didn't know translation cost so much. How much do you pay a localisation team these days? What are they made up of? Software programmers and translators?
@Dreamz I agree the Wii U and its predecessor lacks RPGs but I think it has something to do with the fact that Playstation has that genre covered pretty well and so Nintendo has focused on other genres of games. Isn't Bayonetta 2 an action RPG?
I just wonder if this will affect Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate's Multiplayer Online Quests. If it becomes an issue, I can and will solo the game as I have done with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I will solo all the quests first before I do them online with others. Playing online also lowers the difficulty by nature since you have 3 people helping you.
Why would people want to buy Japanese games if they can't read 'em? What games are EU-exclusive? I find plenty enough to play that's available, thank-you.
@galachef55 Thanks! I procrastinated hunting Dire Miralis for the 5 Gushing Magma needed for the Ishtar for so long but it actually became easier than I thought. It took a long time, but wasn't too tough. My most successful Dire Miralis run is about 40 mins. with the Stygian Superbia dual blades. Now, Alatreon remains my biggest challenge...
Defeated Dire Miralis in the lake part yesterday. It's easier to carve b/c you can see where to go, whereas on land it is hard to tell which part your hunter is standing in: head, body, or tail so I don't get as many carves as I ran out of time running around. Upgraded to the Shining Ishtar gunlance yesterday, too 552 raw, 450 poison, baby!
@Iggly I always bring 10 honey even if I don't end up using them. I usually just avoid Alatreon and Dire Miralis hunts altogether :b although I would like the Gushing Magmas necessary to finish upgrading the G.Rathian poison gunlance, however the lucent poison gunlance has been helpful with 30% affinity but less poison.
@Iggly thank-you for this helpful new knowledge. I usually use Mega potions whenever I take damage but of course it heals red health first which makes it heal less green health. Do you also bring 10 Potions and 10 honey like I do? That way it's like carrying 20 Mega potions. Also, there's not usually enough time to take two healing items consecutively but I guess I could make it work. I also bring farcaster (and 10 combinable) to Abyssal Lagi fights and sometimes don't end up using any Mega potions at all b/c I just keep using the base camp bed.
@Iggly Do you know how long the duration lasts for the Tanzia chips? Do you use it to heal red health once or does it speed health recovery for a long period of time? Is it basically like having the Health Rec. skill?
Umm, MonHun would have been my choice for LAST summer but I guess it's ok since Animal Crossing is here, too, and I'm playing it now. Also, I know Fire Emblem: Awakening did well for the survival of the franchise but it's the most shallow and forgettable story in the FE universe. It's as if Intelligent Systems had to dumb down the story for a new audience. It's a good thing they're working on something else; S.T.E.A.M., which looks promising as Nintendo's answer to Borderlands. NLife should only include 2014 games on this list. Really? FE:A came out in 2013 and you're not putting Kirby 3DS on this list? And MonHun3U is the reason I bought a Vita so I could play Freedom Unite which is nice but really needed the updated controls the IOS version received (ie. Lock-on camera).
Free-to-play, or not; I just don't know how excited I am about a submarine shooter although I will say it sounds more interesting than a lot of eshop titles. For eshop, the best games are the retail ones when they go on sale
Come on, I still want to hunt with Japanese players, too. I like that Europe and NA will hunt together but come on, other games allow gamers from all over the world to play together.
@JaxonH I still look for used GBA games at game stores to play on my DS so I don't even care that GBA games do not come out on 3DS VC. It's too soon, in my opinion.
@Charganium SNES emulation on DS actually wasn't so successful save for maybe a couple of games. I tried to emulate the Super Famicom Fire Emblem games, but no dice. Some games that were built bigger could not be handled by the DS.
@HyruleChampion You and me both on the reliving the childhood part. Berry blending while I was walking outside along the sidewalk was my fave memory Planting berries, blending 'em into pokéblocks, and participating in contests were the best memories!
They couldn't figure out what else to do so they gave Pikachu some new outfits...How 'bout a huge new area like the Sevii Islands from FireRed/LeafGreen?
It looks like the gym challenges haven't been updated. A graphical makeover is not enough! Regarding Roxanne's gym: Really? Another gym setting in a museum? I hope it's not like Heartgold/Soulsilver where it was just a graphical update with nothing really new added (ok a small new area but it was no Sevii Islands). Anyways, I'm looking forward to berry plots all over the world again! And contests!
I love that when they go with a budget developer, it ends up being a better game. No console developer wants to put their heart and soul into making film-based games b/c they don't have to and it's a waste of time. WayForward didn't have to, either but it was probably a big cheque for them and they want to build a great portfolio.
@stalepie2 It seems like Sony has abandoned the Vita in comparison to the love Nintendo gives to the 3DS but the Vita is getting some love by being linked to the PS4 for second-screen (read:Wii U-style) gaming. Personally, I would like to get the Vita, as well b/c not only do you have access to Vita games but also many PSP and PSOne titles.
@stalepie2 Wow, that's nice of you to consider gamers of other systems. Vita already has a decent selection of dungeon-crawlers but map-making is better suited to the dual-screened 3DS, don't you think? And it's even better on the 3DS XL. Sure, the Wii U is another possibility. It would be nice to see HD environments in an Etrian game. I'm perfectly fine with the 3DS visuals.
@stalepie2 Well, there ya go. Why would you want a game to come to Vita if you don't have one? Vita actually has a few good-looking games trickling in at a faster rate now.
I spent so many hours in the Moga Woods that my quest progression was so slow but I didn't mind b/c I loved the idea of just wandering around never knowing what to expect. Ofc now I only play G-rank quests b/c I'm just too familiar with the High Rank Moga Woods but it was a wonderful experience.

Re: Video: The Latest Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Trailer is Serene and Gorgeous
@Iggly 2DS would be fine but honestly MH3U really shines in 3D so I can't wait to turn the 3D switch up to the max for this game.
Re: Video: The Latest Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Trailer is Serene and Gorgeous
@Dogpigfish MonHun 3.5 would be 3 Ultimate. MH4U is a completely new game; more like 4.5 since it's an enhanced version of 4.
Re: More Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Story and Setting Details Emerge
I always wanted to know....just what do Tanzia chips do?!! (They reused a town from MonHun 2? I guess it's technically new to west folks)
