Re: 3DS Homebrew Channel Reportedly in Final Stages of Development

I just wonder if this will affect Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate's Multiplayer Online Quests. If it becomes an issue, I can and will solo the game as I have done with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. I will solo all the quests first before I do them online with others. Playing online also lowers the difficulty by nature since you have 3 people helping you.

Why would people want to buy Japanese games if they can't read 'em? What games are EU-exclusive? I find plenty enough to play that's available, thank-you.

@Iggly I always bring 10 honey even if I don't end up using them. I usually just avoid Alatreon and Dire Miralis hunts altogether :b although I would like the Gushing Magmas necessary to finish upgrading the G.Rathian poison gunlance, however the lucent poison gunlance has been helpful with 30% affinity but less poison.

@Iggly thank-you for this helpful new knowledge. I usually use Mega potions whenever I take damage but of course it heals red health first which makes it heal less green health. Do you also bring 10 Potions and 10 honey like I do? That way it's like carrying 20 Mega potions. Also, there's not usually enough time to take two healing items consecutively but I guess I could make it work. I also bring farcaster (and 10 combinable) to Abyssal Lagi fights and sometimes don't end up using any Mega potions at all b/c I just keep using the base camp bed.

Re: Feature: Ten Wii U and 3DS Games That Are Perfect For Summer - Community Choices

Umm, MonHun would have been my choice for LAST summer but I guess it's ok since Animal Crossing is here, too, and I'm playing it now. Also, I know Fire Emblem: Awakening did well for the survival of the franchise but it's the most shallow and forgettable story in the FE universe. It's as if Intelligent Systems had to dumb down the story for a new audience. It's a good thing they're working on something else; S.T.E.A.M., which looks promising as Nintendo's answer to Borderlands. NLife should only include 2014 games on this list. Really? FE:A came out in 2013 and you're not putting Kirby 3DS on this list? And MonHun3U is the reason I bought a Vita so I could play Freedom Unite which is nice but really needed the updated controls the IOS version received (ie. Lock-on camera).

It looks like the gym challenges haven't been updated. A graphical makeover is not enough! Regarding Roxanne's gym: Really? Another gym setting in a museum? I hope it's not like Heartgold/Soulsilver where it was just a graphical update with nothing really new added (ok a small new area but it was no Sevii Islands). Anyways, I'm looking forward to berry plots all over the world again! And contests!

I love that when they go with a budget developer, it ends up being a better game. No console developer wants to put their heart and soul into making film-based games b/c they don't have to and it's a waste of time. WayForward didn't have to, either but it was probably a big cheque for them and they want to build a great portfolio.

Re: Atlus Teases a New Etrian Odyssey Title, Makes You Work To See It

@stalepie2 It seems like Sony has abandoned the Vita in comparison to the love Nintendo gives to the 3DS but the Vita is getting some love by being linked to the PS4 for second-screen (read:Wii U-style) gaming. Personally, I would like to get the Vita, as well b/c not only do you have access to Vita games but also many PSP and PSOne titles.

@stalepie2 Wow, that's nice of you to consider gamers of other systems. Vita already has a decent selection of dungeon-crawlers but map-making is better suited to the dual-screened 3DS, don't you think? And it's even better on the 3DS XL. Sure, the Wii U is another possibility. It would be nice to see HD environments in an Etrian game. I'm perfectly fine with the 3DS visuals.
