Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Wii U Struggles Bring a Challenge, Not Doom

mamp

You guys drink beer!? I drink beer we have so much in common LOL.
On a serious note I think Nintendo should work more with getting some third party western support. Nintendo has secured Dragon quest, MH and other Japanese 3rd party developers but it hasn't done the same with western developers. Both Europe and the US have a bigger market than that of Japan and yet the 3DS and Wii U have sold the most in Japan. Nintendo needs to find a way to get more consoles moving in these markets.

Re: Iwata Accepts Responsibility For Poor Financial Results, Ignores Calls To Resign

mamp

"Please understand" Iwata you keep messing up over and over again. I think Nintendo would benefit with someone younger, who's ambitious and understands today's current market better than you do. Clearly you do not learn from your mistakes as this article shows http://www.notenoughshaders.com/2013/04/02/satoru-iwata-hubris-versus-western-culture/ Nintendo needs to change in order to adjust to the current market and the first change should start with you, "I apologize for your inconvenience."

Re: Talking Point: Claims of Wii U Third-Party Development Troubles Shouldn't Be Dismissed Lightly

mamp

Wow developing for the wii U in the early days must have been a mess, anyways when people have a bad experince most don't want to repeat another bad experience, sadly this is the problem with third party devs. Nintendo consoles are for Nintendo and Nintendo only. Nintendo just does their own thing and they expect everyone else to go along with them. They make consoles with weird discs, controls, or tech that's not on equal ground with other consoles and all of this makes it harder for third party devs. I think Nintendo can make it on their own but that's the thing they can only make it on their own cuz no one else wants to play with them.

Re: Feature: Nintendo Games We'd Love to See in 2014

mamp

Will ideas only be taken if they're posted right here or do we have to contact you? Anyways a lot of great choices personally I want Metroid Prime just cuz Metroid is my favorite nintendo series, also if it had an amazing online multiplayer that'd be amazing.

Re: Feature: Looking Back at Nintendo in 2013 - Part Four

mamp

Q4 for Nintendo summarized by me in a terrible fashion: 3DS still stayed as bad a** as ever and became even better with the addition of pokemon and Zelda. Wii U is starting to pick up not to mention Mario was like the best thing to get released this year, if Nintendo can keep up the great releases I expect it to turn around like the 3DS.

Re: Feature: Looking Back at Nintendo in 2013 - Part Three

mamp

This year was just complete win for the 3DS. Besides Earthbound the Wii U was seriously lacking. Q4 is when the Wii U started to pick up a bit of steam (not much but some) mostly cuz of Mario 3D World but there's nowhere to go from here but up. 2014 The Wii U is just gonna get better esp. cuz there's just so many good games slated for 2014.

Re: Site News: How was 2013 for Nintendo Life?

mamp

Features, talking points, and the fact that this site doesn't get crazy with rude internet people are the main reason why I love this site. keep up the good work guys you're doing an amazing job.

Re: Renegade Kid Teases Announcement for "FPS Lovers and 3DS Owners"

mamp

I hope it's not cult county it was supposed to be a horror game right? I don't want another FPS/horror combo they just never work out. Too much focus on the shooting and not enough focus on the horror. And I hope the game supports Circle Pad Pro it only makes the gameplay better (well for those who don't like using the touch screen). As for the other games I wonder what they may be hope they're cool.

Re: Talking Point: Is The Castlevania Series Finished With Nintendo?

mamp

I could see another Castlevania appearing on the 3DS but on the Wii U there's just no way. Nintendo Fanboys can live in their magical world believing the Wii U is perfect in every way but the reality is that After the SNES, Nintendo consoles have only been used to play games made by Nintendo and no one else. Third parties just can't find an audience on Nintendo home consoles which is pretty sad, IDK how Nintendo can win 3rd parties but I hope there's a way.
Also isn't it weird that their home consoles have no third party support but their handheld consoles do why is that? Is the market just that different between the 2?

Re: Feature: 12 Days of Christmas - Wii Fit U Steps Up a Level While the Trainer Gets Ready to Brawl

mamp

I wonder how many people kept using the original Wii Fit everyday both my friends bought it initially and used it a lot (initially) but then it just ended up tucked away under the bed indefinitely. I did not buy the original cuz before I lost a lot of weight (50+ lbs thru healthy eating and exercise) I was probably too heavy for the balance board, although now I'm at a good weight to use one so maybe I'll get wii fit U? Anyways back on to my topic the Pedometer might be a good idea because people love to walk/jog/run and that's usually the one exercise most people don't give up on and the pedometer might give more incentive to people.

Re: Hyrule Warriors Is Zelda Meets Dynasty Warriors, And It's Coming To Wii U In 2014

mamp

Why? I guess they want money because Dynasty Warriors is just a flashy looking button masher I mean there's no real strategy or depth to it. I know the games sell but a game like Zelda does not lend itself to mindless repetitive button mashing. What's worse is you can tell all these enemies are going to be as dumb as bricks just like the ones in actual Dynasty Warriors games. When will Nintendo learn that other companies should not go near their franchises.

Re: Mighty No. 9 Studio Comcept Facing Fan Backlash Over Community Manager Appointment

mamp

Here's the only thing I have learned from these new-age feminists (Because feminism was never like this, it was actually good back then): they don't want REAL equality. Feminists are like little kids that want to be adults. They want all the benefits but they don't want what's on the opposite side of the coin.
As a man I don't hate feminists I just hate that every woman who says the word equality more than the average person thinks she's a feminist. I believe there are actual feminists out there who aren't full of themselves and full of **** and want true equality.
Also I have a (true) feminist friend and these are the kind of ideas she puts in my head.
EDIT: I'm just talking about feminists in general IDK who this person is and I personally don't care.

Re: Parent Trap: StreetPass Makes Social Networks Social Again

mamp

Personally puzzle swap is my main reason for streetpass don't care much for Streetpass but the OCS I have won't let me live until all my panels stop being empty. Also I've met people thru streetpass messages (fellow college students) people can be pretty smart about getting past limitations so I suggest keepin an eye on your kids don't get too careless

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Appearance at VGX Underwhelmed, But the Show Itself Was Far Worse

mamp

@ThomasBW84
I like the talking point but your feature articles are the best and I love them to death. Personally I think that's what sets you apart from other websites, because I usually don't get invested in those type of articles. Also since my best friend is a hardcore Nintendo Fanboy, we usually discuss about some of the points you make in your feature articles and heck sometimes we even discuss about the article itself at times. Good job and keep it up. Also whoever does the captions for those smash bro pic articles needs a promotion they're usually really good and some make me chuckle.

Re: Soapbox: Nintendo's Appearance at VGX Underwhelmed, But the Show Itself Was Far Worse

mamp

Well it's very well written and I agree with the points you made. Also just for the sake of convenience I choose to believe the stupid rumor that they were going to show off Metroid but judging on how terrible the show was they stuck to Donkey Kong. Anyways this is the third (I think) Soapbox article I read and I think I'm done, I love NL features I try to never miss reading one because they're so good but the soapbox thing just sux (at least I don't care for them). Basically it's just rambling (but with proper grammar and sentence structure) and I mean that's usually what the forums are for or even the comments section. I think the rambling should be done there.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Confirms Playable Cranky Kong and Release Date for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

mamp

I wasn't disappointed because it was Reggie doing a reveal so I knew he wasn't going to show anything that was actually new. Let's face it only the head honchos of Japan have the creative freedom to do anything. All Reggie ever does is look like an idiot revealing news that is never actually news. I mean Cranky Kong was leaked days ago he missed a good opportunity well Nintendo missed a good opportunity by not giving him the chance to reveal actual news. Even the guy from Retro studios seemed so bored to be there because even he knew it was a joke.
