Aside from off-TV play and putting inventory/map on the second screen, it's pretty IDK I wouldn't say useless but it's usually not needed. My friend has Super Mario 3D land and he doesn't use the gamepad because he finds it distracting, I tried playing on the gamepad but the second screen can be at times distracting if you keep it in your line of sight (although maybe it was just this one game in particular). Besides Zombie U I haven't seen much use for the gamepad's second screen.

EDIT: I think that second screen gaming just works more naturally with the 3DS because the screens are attached, it's a lot simpler just to look down for a quick second when the screens are that close to each other.

Well it's the closest thing I'll get to getting a main persona game on a 3DS console. Also how come the guy from the velvet room is there but the female main character from P3P is not? I guess it's mostly going to be like Etrian Odyssey but I don't mind dungeon crawlers if there's a story involved and it looks like there is. Gonna miss social links though

I've been wondering if all of this is mostly due to the fact that the Wii U has the gamepad and they have to make their games work for it, I mean people will complain if they get the game and there's no off TV play or if you're not able to use the gamepad in some form when playing the game.

I downloaded the video from their website OMG 60fps it looked amazing.

Why can't we just get an account system, it would just make it easier to ban whoever is causing trouble.

I think someone's over estimating the Wii, Considering the Wii mini was at the end of the Wiis' lifespan I don't know how or why Nintendo would have rebuilt the Wii shop just to provide downloadable games for a console nearing its end. Considering they were currently working on the eShop to try and make it something worth while I don't get why they would want to focus in the Wii shop which was dead the day it started. I feel like Nintendo is really at a point right now where they can't afford to focus on the Wii. The Wii U needs some serious steam to get it going and the 3DS just needs to keep up its pace. You can say people still have the Wii but it's steadily dying (unless of course you have homebrew) so there's really no point in investing money on it.

I only have a 3DS and nothing good as of late. Hopefully the good stuff starts coming out soon. Also yes I mean the eShop because if I leave a hole in my sentence that's opened to interpretation someone has to use it to start an argument.

Well according to that Emily Rogers girl the 3DS update has been delayed but the Wii U update should be coming this week. I wonder what's going to happen with this new update?

As someone who didn't play the original (but I did know about it) they did not do a good job selling the idea for this game when I looked at the video nothing impressed me and the atmosphere did not seem scary at all if anything it looked a little more on the cartoon-ish side so I couldn't take it seriously, You just see a guy walk around and then he's suddenly standing in front of a tower that looks like that tower from Lord of the Rings. if anything it felt like they marketed the game to people who played the previous game.

I don't really care I play any game I like regardless of what system the game comes out on. I just see this as an opportunity to play more games.

@shinpichu Who knows maybe he's worried about not getting enough new characters since apparently the amount of characters is going to be limited (because of 3DS limitations) and well toon link basically does the same thing link does he's just faster. I don't really mind it but I can see why others would consider it wasted space for a potential new character. I guess some people are holding out hope for some of their favorites to be announced or something amazing we wouldn't have expected (like megaman for example) and well you never know some of those new characters could end up being someone's new main. I personally look forward to using the Wii Fit Trainer and seeing what she's all about.

@EdenIndustries 50 Citizens? I'm a little skeptical because that's a lot of characters and since you can use them all in battle I'm wondering how much depth there will be to these characters. I don't mind the quantity but will it mess with the quality? If I decide I want to use a certain character from the beginning of the game will I get bored of him/her soon or will there be enough incentive for me to keep using that particular citizen throughout the most of the game?

I'm one of the few people who actually bought and played/loved GTA china town wars on the DS so yeah I'd buy this in a heart beat. Also had Bully on the Wii (even though I had already played it on my PS2). Plus with gamepad features included in the game the Wii U version can take this game and make it even better.

@Shadowkiller97 All I see is that you pointed out supporting characters, you make it sound like I'm saying females don't exist in Zelda, they do exists but there role is very minor and frankly not all that important at least not compared to Link. Also yeah Zelda was sheik and in about 1 minute after finding out that it's Zelda she gets kidnapped same thing with Tetra. In WW he's trying to save his sister hence a guy trying to save another weak defenseless girl. Point is all these "lead female characters" just play support to Link how about some of these "leading females" get their own game where they're playable or maybe have a female link which will most likely never happen. I mean since it's just another reincarnation and we're starting over with new versions of these characters why can't there be a female version of Link, is there a reason why this can't happen?

No offense, I can see why you don't like the game but why do you get a front page article to whine about a game you don't like, seems better suited for the forums. I thought it would be more IDK unbiased and focused more on Nintendo than on your own personal opinion. Personally I don't like Zelda and I doubt I would get a front page article to whine about how much I dislike it. Basically if you don't like it don't buy it, which is probably what I would be told if I went on my Zelda rant.
A lot of your points are debatable, let's not talk about sending out messages of sexism and misogyny when you play Zelda games to save the weak and pathetic FEMALE princess Zelda who apparently has great power yet somehow manages to get herself kidnapped by a MALE antagonist or somehow screwed over to the point where she relies on the brave MALE hero Link to come and save her (considering Link is basically a silent avatar I think Nintendo should have let you have the option to choose genders by now but you know the MAN has to be the one rescuing the WOMAN). Even this game shows just how bad our society is. I'd love to see kids not getting mixed messages about that.
I also don't get how a remake of an old game (which most of us have already played considering we're all Nintendo fans) is much more worthy of our attention than a new game? It's the same game with new graphics which according to Nintendo and a lot of fanboys, graphics don't matter so take that out of the equation and you just get some minor gameplay tweaks. You want to talk about open world gameplay I wish Zelda was as explorable as GTA and I wish you could do as much on Zelda as you could on GTA but you really can't or I would log in some serious hours on that game yeah we play for the story but our hundreds of hours logged into the game aren't on the story itself I'll tell you that much. Personally I'm not that crazy about the violence and sex but you know deep down it's a game also it has a rating so you know it's for the older crowd so if people are worried about their kids exposed to this game clearly they don't keep an eye on their kids. I think games like Bully and Read Dead are more my thing.
Anyways this was terrible I expected something a little more professional but instead it was just a biased article. Nope NVM it was more of a whiny rant about how you don't GTA than an actual article. Also good job sneaking in some promotion for Zelda and your review at the last moment.

This game looks pretty interesting, I'll be keeping an eye out for it.

My experience from what I see is that my nephews/nieces/cousins do use the iPad/smartphones but they don't necessarily choose it over gaming consoles for actual gaming (but they do use them for youtube, facebook, and social games mostly these are 10yr olds btw). I will say though they do have the shortest attention span ever had well over 20 games and we went through all of them in like 45 mins because they would get bored in an instant. The other major thing is they think Nintendo games are for kids and they want to play COD and that more adult stuff why, because we live in a society where apparently being cool is the "thing" and well what's cooler to children than hanging out with other kids that are older than them (like my niece who likes to hang out with my 16yr old cousin and talk about friendship/relationship drama) or hanging out with kids that act like they're so adult (like my 9 yr old cousin and his friend who say Nintendo's for kids and they only play COD on they're BROed out console the 360 while cussing at each other when they play). Please people I implore you to teach your kids to be kids and keep an eye out on they're gaming and what they do and who they hang out with. EDIT: Also my niece has her own iPad because she's spoiled like that and well everyone else just borrows mom and dad's smartphones.

If you guys aren't supporting this device you guys are crazy this is the most innovative device I've ever seen there's nothing out there quite like it. Totally worth the $410 they're asking for actually I think we're very lucky because this machine could have been worth more and it's totally justified personally I've already given my money and so should all of you. LOL totally trolling if you haven't figured it out by now. One thing though I've been thinking is if this gamepade rip-off gives a general idea of how much a Wii U gamepad costs. Wait have they revealed the price for the Wii U gamepad?

I will get a Wii U eventually when I finish school in a year and a half (wouldn't want to miss out on Smash Bros and Bayonetta) but if it doesn't pick up some serious steam odds are it'll be my secondary console next to the PS4 I plan on getting (I wouldn't want to miss out on the next GTA, KH3, and some other sweet third party games that I can't think of right now).

So the question I have is how do u put a game on sleep mode since you cant close this system i mean you can push the power button but it turns the game off too, so how would it work? Mario hitting Peach in a videogame about fighting, OMG someone has to do something about this!!! Seriously though it's a fighting game and unlike most fighting games out there this game's type of violence is pretty cartoonish(like Tom & Jerry) compared to other types of games that take violence to another level(like the MK series). If this really was an issue something would have been done a long time ago, like about the time that Chun-li was taking punches to the face in SF back in the old days. We all know what Smash Bros is and it's not like we're gonna say the Mario in Mario games is a domestic abuser because he can fight Peach in Smash Bros while you're gaming audience may be stupid we're not that stupid, and EVO is watched by fans of the fighting game community not grandma or the parents. If anything people would complain that females aren't in fighting games you know cuz of diversity and women aren't stereotypical weaklings and bla bla bla (also people have complained that there's not enough female characters on Smash).
