Re: Nintendo And Sony Shares Drop Following Google's Stadia Reveal

@Dilated gotcha. Your experience with Ohio internet is what I feel the main issue will be for a long time. A large portion of continental US doesn’t even have broadband, nevermind a stable connection at a high speed without a data cap. Streaming is the future for sure, but I believe it’s going to be mostly niche for a while which is why it benefits Sony Microsoft and Nintendo. They are putting consoles in hand, and also offering streaming. Easing us into the future rather than rushing in

Re: Nintendo And Sony Shares Drop Following Google's Stadia Reveal

jly1987

@Dilated why would you need to leave gaming behind just because it requires a connection? The world is going to be more and more connected. When it because streaming only, it will still be fine. I have good internet so I’m not worried. I’m 31 myself, but in all seriousness in my adult life I can’t really even think of a time I didn’t have internet access but my power was working. My connection has always been stable enough where it only goes out if I lose power to my house. Obviously everyone’s situation is different, but I don’t see how down the like streaming only is an issue. Unless your issue is that you need to have a disc in your hand

Re: Nintendo And Sony Shares Drop Following Google's Stadia Reveal

@USWITCH64 exactly. This is completely Niche. The advantage that Sony Nintendo and Microsoft has is streaming is 100 percent the future, but they already have established eco systems and their console base always them to ease people into this growing future. Stadia will be successful as a pioneer of this, but it’s jumping in the deep end head first into a market that still needs a lot of time.

People have no need to worry. The stadia isn’t going to be legit competition for a long time. The average consumer isn’t going to be ready for this for at LEAST another 5-10 years, and I think 5 is being generous. I really think stadia is the future but it’s a future people aren’t at yet

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Will Be Considered For Switch If Dragon's Dogma Sells Enough

jly1987

@Dazzle exactly. I don’t understand why this community has realized yet they are always going to get the short end of the stick due to the limitations of the console when it comes to ports. As far as new, original switch games are concerned, all I have to say is these companies still remember the Wii selling 100 million but their games barely breaking a million copies sold

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Will Be Considered For Switch If Dragon's Dogma Sells Enough

jly1987

@Tempestryke you seem to forget that making games is a risk. Why is Nintendo going to make 2d Metroid if nobody buys it. Why is Suda going to make NMH3 when nobody bought the first two, despite claiming how great they are. If Nintendo wasn’t funding Bayonetta 3 I guarantee you Kamiya and his team wouldn’t be making it right now. Be glad Nintendo is funding it because after they funded the 2nd one and nobody bought it they would have been right to not bother with the 3rd

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Will Be Considered For Switch If Dragon's Dogma Sells Enough

jly1987

@Tempestryke Nintendo fans wouldn’t have to deal with it if they bought more than Mario, PokĂ©mon and spinoffs. Indie games being the exception seeing a tiny team makes them for next to nothing. This is the reason why the consoles lack 3rd party support besides the porting issues. Everyone talks about how much they loved Bayonetta 2. Nobody bought it. They loved wonderful 101. Nobody bought it. Sega made mad world, nobody bought it. Okami undersold. Red steel 2. I can go on and on. The Wii has over 100 million units sold and tons of great games were struggling to break a couple million. These consoles historically have proven one thing, unless you belong to a certain franchise your game could be perfect and everyone loves it, yet some how it doesn’t sell. Would I love more support? Absolutely. However, I don’t expect it at all because time and time again the gamers on Nintendo consoles have proven that no matter how much they say they love or want something, they’ve proven otherwise with their wallets

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Will Be Considered For Switch If Dragon's Dogma Sells Enough

jly1987

People need to get over it. The switch can’t run the game or they’d put it on switch. I’m not complaining for the same reason I don’t complain about 4K and 60fps on my PS4. If I wanted that I’d play on a PC. If I wanted to play high end games coming out at the tail end of the current generation, I wouldn’t have bought a switch. Think about what you’re playing on before you complain about stuff

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Will Be Considered For Switch If Dragon's Dogma Sells Enough

jly1987

@AlternateButtons he says might port it because they have to look into it. Unfortunately, our console is not capable of running things as intended due to the limitations of the hardware. NOTHING that uses REngine has come to switch except for a cloud based version of RE7. He says MIGHT because if if they WANT to, there’s a chance it’s not even possible

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Will Be Considered For Switch If Dragon's Dogma Sells Enough

jly1987

@AlphaElite the reason Nintendo gets treated this way, isn’t because of the fans. You say they don’t treat Xbox and PlayStation fans that way. It’s because their games can run on the hardware. Switch isn’t getting hames and It’s because the console is not capable of properly running the games. Why do you think Mega Man 11 is day one, but other capcom titles aren’t. It’s 100 percent due to the limitations of the system and the extensive work it would require to probably get even a VERY bad version of the game running. I’d rather have them NOT release it, than try to get out a version of the game that just doesn’t work right. If it’s that upsetting to you that 3rd party publishers treat Nintendo consoles the way they do, you should play on a console or a PC where what you get isn’t limited by the lack of power

Re: Guide: The Best Nintendo Switch Controllers

jly1987

@Euler the pro controller is the best controller for smash. Sorry but the GC controller isn’t. It’s sold off of nostalgia. The same reason why people buy all the virtual console stuff on other Nintendo systems. It’s not better. The sticks are bad, the butting shape and layout are awkward

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Been The Best-Selling Console In Japan For 12 Months In A Row

jly1987

@Spudtendo if you think Botw does open world better than even half of the games on the market you have a very sad idea of an open world game. BOTW isn’t even the best Zelda. Never mind one of the best open world games. Quite a few open world games better than BOTW have come out this generation alone. Never mind if we go all the way back to the inception of the genre. I didn’t mention pc gaming because we aren’t talking about pc gaming. We’re talking about console gaming. Again which I own all three consoles. I’m currently playing smash and final fantasy 9 on my switch. I love my switch. I simply said that people are acting as if outselling PS4 in Japan is way more impressive than it really is, and that the switch is going to be hamstrung by its technical limitations very soon. Once the novelty of playing inferior ports on the go wears off, it’s going to be on 1st party Nintendo titles and quality indies to keep the momentum. Can they do it? I don’t know. I hope so because I don’t want
My switch to become a paperweight like my Wii U became a doorstop. You can call me a Sony diehard all you want. I’ve owned evrery home console from Nintendo, Sega, Sony and Microsoft EXCEPT for the PS3. The GameCube is one of my favorite consoles of all time. I’ve got more playtime on a switch exclusive (octopath) than I do on any other game this generation. I’m by no means a Sony diehard, I just don’t give Nintendo a free pass on everything like everyone else seems to

Re: Nintendo Switch Has Been The Best-Selling Console In Japan For 12 Months In A Row

jly1987

@westman98 I will be shocked if the switch is outselling ps5 between years 2 and 3 of the ps5 lifecycle. That would actually be a huge achievement. It’s not likely. People can same I’m looking at it from my own opinions. No I’m looking at it from the switch is not dominating PS4 in western territories when the console is around 100 million units sold and seemingly at the end of its lifecycle. The Japanese public are into mobile and handheld gaming. If the switch ISNT outselling the PS4 there it’s a huge problem. It’s ok to say hey Nintendo, good job while also realizing that the stat we’re talking about is overly optimistic
