Re: Feature: Hiroshi Yamauchi - The Man Who Made Nintendo

jayclayx

This is a reminder that nobody is forever and talking specifically in Nintendo, Shigeru Miyamoto may be the last guru at Nintendo and they must think carefully his succession to remain the essence Yamauchi were able to create in the company, so many great memories I have back in the days with the nes, snes, 64 and somehow in the gamecube, he always persecuted innovation not only on gameplay like nowadays but nintendo consoles were the most powerful in graphics term, it was a very magic synergy between power and fun, RIP Mister Yamauchi San.

Re: Sega Sammy Acquires Atlus Parent Company Index For 14 Billion Yen

why sega is buying up companies like atlus? what about all the force power they had before? like the amd's, smilebit, amusement, hitmaker, etc. I mean they were disintegrated all this amazing studios and then buy studios again? anyway Im not excited that Atlus is becoming part of sega since sammy holdings bought the company they just use the name and nothing left from the old sega anymore.

Re: Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me

@Royalblues Amen to that pal, this is exaclty what I mean when I say that haters on this game must be fanboyism just because is not made by Nintendo and the fact the wii U DO need this kind of games for a healthy and diverse game lineup, again if you think playing gta goes against your moral then yeah you should keep playing pokemon in your lifetime, I mean c-mon its just a game, killing turtles in a mario doesnt make a turtle killer in the real life.

lot of nintendo fanboys here as expected, god we are not in a church or something, I like my 3ds and love nintendo games but many opinions here makes me feel sick, this game is brilliant not because the violence and sex content on it but because how the game is able to reflect the today society in many countries specially in the US. If you talk poopsiecacadoggiedoodleloviepoops about this game cause it goes against your moral so I suggest you keep playin what you enjoy. Gta V its just a fun game.

Re: Talking Point: Marketing Wii U to the Masses

jayclayx

Nintendo did pretty well back then advertising the wii U with all that tablet controller features, the problem is that Nintendo didnt invest enough in game development from its own studios so after a year they still dont get a game enough to make people get convinced why Wii U is a worth buy, so even with w101 and pkm 3 its really not enough compare whit what other consoles can offer you and with no games on the market also there is no advertising.

Re: Without iOS Support Nintendo "Doesn’t Reach Today’s Kids" Says Apple Advocate John Gruber

jayclayx

@b23cdq dont get me wrong, I also hate this kind of games, I have an iPhone 5 and I never play on it, its an amazin devices for media at least for me but I prefer play on my 3ds xl but sadly many people are comparing ios and android software with nintendo because they are looking for this kind gamers, thats why the terrible name "wii U"they gave to the console because clearly they want to replicate the sucess on the wii with all those casual gamers.

Re: Without iOS Support Nintendo "Doesn’t Reach Today’s Kids" Says Apple Advocate John Gruber

jayclayx

@b23cdq do you have an idea what are you talking about? have you ever heard about micro transaction in game? well in a week more than 25 million potential clients, how about in a year? do you think this numbers can compare with any game on 3ds? do your maths, candy crush is also a free game and Im pretty sure their sales are massive aswell, yeah you should be impressed because finally what Nintendo are looking for is this kind of massive sales.

Re: Without iOS Support Nintendo "Doesn’t Reach Today’s Kids" Says Apple Advocate John Gruber

@Luke8400 the kids are not really interesting on a depth gaming experience, call it casual if you want, the point here is that Nintendo are looking for the massive sales, it is a fact that most of the casual gamers created on wii now are using an ipad at home and it seems looking at wii U sales after almost one year that they are not interesting on buy a dedicated console anymore because their devices provide everything they need, the boom sales on ios makes people like Gruber said that if Nintendo are interesting on those casual gamers they need make games on ios otherwise you go for the core gamers who already jump to ps3 ps4, 360 bone.

Re: Atari Founder Nolan Bushnell Claims Nintendo "Could Be On The Path To Irrelevance"

jayclayx

@Zael your point really make sense nowadays its really difficult to see people carrying a 3ds or vita on the go, you talk about portability? your smartphone provide everything you need, personally I only play my 3ds at home or when I need leave home for several days, many people complain about Bushnell statement but speaking frankly the point you mentioned about the poor feedback between costumers and company is another issue they need focus if they want to remain in this market that evolve really fast.

Re: Talking Point: The Wii U May Be Playing Catch-Up With Some Developers, But Money Always Talks

jayclayx

very good article, Nintendo's policies are outdated, I remember when Iwata stated that right now it is more difficult to impress the people than before, well ps3 and 360 were enable to handle HD games since 2006, most of the casual people are using ipads since some years ago so the tablet like controller is everything but new, the secrecy Nintendo use on make their hardware its juts ridiculous and everytime when somebody ask Nintendo about the low specs hardware they always use the playstation 2 case were it was the weakest console on the last generation, for me that excuse doesnt make any sense to me because they always said they dont have competitors, they make things on their way, true or not Nintendo should change their politics and support and involve more developers on their ship because I dont think Nintendo can remain themself only by their own ip's and ignoring the world.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo's Low-Key Approach to the 2DS and Wii U Price Cut Reveals Wasn't Surprising

jayclayx

I bought the wii U since its launch and from day 1 till pikmin 3 was released I just played new super mario and nintendo land, because other third party games didnt appeal to me enough to get them, the point is I do really feel regret to get the console at day 1, with the price cut and the zelda bundle make me feel somebody cheatme, I will never buy a nintendo console at launch.
