so well made article for the legendary dreamcast, to be honest I am deeply sad the old sega has already died, in fact it is even more sad to think that the old era where companies like sega were investing their money on "fun" is gone, the old credo for those companies was "it is fun? then go for it".
However I am more than a lucky person that I was there when games like jet set radio, shenmue, sonic adventure, space channel 5, rez, the old capcom arcade games etc, appeared in this little white machine, the old good days I will never forget, thank you sega for bring the best memories of my childhood, thank you for create this amazing world, people don't understand why nowadays we consider games like call of duty garbage.
If you are a real gamer you should buy a dreamcast and take a look a it, then you will discover a real pure love gaming machine like the dreamcast is.

@Hy8ogen Im not agree with piracy, I do not use any of those flash cartridges, however I bet you will eat your own words with the "The age of video game piracy is ending, and I'm glad it is." I would not be that sure about this statement, since hackers are always playing with nintendo toys.

i haven't played my wii U since I beat super mario 3d world, :S

it is kind of sad but since zelda a link between worlds I am not interesting on any game recently for my 3ds , the next game would be smash bros but besides bravely default I don't feel like the console is getting third party support

@Zeldamaster97 what matters is to enjoy games in whatever console you are playing thats make you a true gamer not a fanboy, you cannot ignore the ps4 just because the wii U has better games right now, do you remember how the wii U did in it first months? good games are everywhere and Sakurai is mature enough to recognize the ps4 is a good looking young console.

this game just killed the mega drive genesis, it was the most beautiful cool platform ever made on earth and all in a snes cartridge, beautiful music, oh old rare we miss you.

people are talking nonsense, if I am not mistaken there are several exploits on 3ds and wii U but all of them are actually pretty useless since there is no way to run decrypt code to run unsigned apps leave alone piracy loaders.

@Goginho don't complain like a bi!@$tch, ubisoft was one of the very few companies who has been put a lot of effort to the wii U starting with zombie u (an exclusive game) no other third party has been support wii U like ubi did, and companies like them don't sell well on nintendo platforms because of people like you who don't care anything besides zelda mario and pokemon.

this is only happening on the falling sega, I mean cmon people Nintendo would never destroy the mario universe like sega is doing with sonic, yeah I am aware this is for entice the new generation kids but I think there is no need to do this, even more far from sonic adventure 3 perhaps ... anyway I have lost my hopes on this.

honestly I do regret I got my wii U at launch with a full prized new launch console since the games I started to enjoy was until a year ahead and right now you can get a really cheap bundles with games like mario 3d and zelda.

everybody here keep saying what nintendo should do in order to maintain the ship afloat and many others are complain about nintendo should remain conservative because its singularity but the fact is that the times are constantly changes, you can't remain the same over the years ignoring the tendency in the market and all this Iwata statements are congruent for what the company needs nowadays in order to survive without compete with sony and microsoft with brute force

its kind of virtualized platform where we will see games like wii fit and brain training but with other activities and themes and not necessary on the wii U or 3ds, and once the platform get massive fan base it will be a potential gamers for their core products (traditional games on their hardware like mario, zelda etc.) well that is what I understood from this puzzle...

this is why japan is much better than america...

if nintendo release a wii u with a pro controller then there will be no difference in hardware terms between a 360 and a wii u (for example) so the answer is no, the gamepad should remain with the console, nintendo needs to spend money on a good marketing campaign and keep releasing nice games thats all nintendo can do at this point.

@JaxonH you look a bit obsessed with this game, since I don't mean this game sucks in any way but for many people include myself the game just don't look revolutionary like it did in 80-s era in arcades, in snes back in 1994 and in some way in the 64, there is no doubt this game will include many new features but unfortunately the game look like an hd upgrade from the wii version which retrostudios could make something more impressive for the wii U.

this game will be nice indeed but I dunno it has something but don't appeal to me yet, its feels like an upgrade from the wii version to hd and some extra characters, maybe because I was expecting more from retrostudios, dck for snes was a revelation, dkcr for wii was an awesome achievement for the wii, just saying,,,

@Zombie_Barioth you are right, specs may be not important at all, you state products like apple and consoles like psx, ps2 and wii but if you pay attention to all this products there is something in common between them and is the cool factor, everybody says how cool apple products are, the same thing happened with the psx, ps2 and wii, everybody were saying how cool games were on those consoles so people were willing to buying those devices, but right now nintendo were unable to make a cool factor for the wii U, sorry but the first year of the wii U was pathetic, ports from 360 and ps3 doesn't help at all because there was a feeling that wii U was more like current gen than the next one and games like pikmin and w101 lets be honest are not cool enough to make people want a console or even talk about them, Nintendo was aware of their modest hardware and for the same reason they should have realeased a brand new zelda, a smash brothers and a mario kart to have a strong lunch, that would be a so big cool factor for the wii u.

Everybody is saying how bad nintendo marketing is but lets be honest, even with all the advertising nintendo could make with the ww u people are complaining about nintendo with things like a bad quality tablet controller, with a under power console, I know you guys don't care about technical stuff but most people do, I know many people who said why should I spend 300dll on wii u when a ps4 just cost 399, there is a cool factor, people don't want a cheap controller, don't want a under power console, why the wii sold like hell, it was because nintendo was able to make a casual market which most of them are now on tablets, while nintendo was busy making money with grandmas sony and microsoft took away what nintendo has in the snes and 64 era, the core gamer market.

Nintendo is far from being doom but sadly they have been doing terribly bad with the wii U compare with microsoft and sony, if they want to sell first then need accept they have competition on this business and second actually LISTEN to fans and developers to what we want or expect from them.

@element187 I think you are confused about what a sub hd is, but I can tell you that ps4 and xbone has already 60fps games at native 1080p like battlefield 4, killzone, forza or diablo 3, I have a wii U and a ps4 and if you are talking about technical stuff the wii U may be the sub next gen, no offense but it is a fact and if you don't trust me just take a look at games like driveclub, final fantasy xv,deep down, etc.

you guys need support this game, otherwise this will be one of the last AAA third party games on the wii U for a long time.

I just bought my ps4 this month so by now lets get the next gen started with my dream team (wiiUps4), I can see a lot of fun this year!

@element187 still the wii U´s cpu is weaker than the xenon structure on 360, and all the points you touched yeah you may be right but all this would we unnecessary if Nintendo had done things right from the start, I don't know about the xbox one but I can tell you the ps4 run killzone, need for speed , ac4 and many others at 1080p, the problem here is that Nintendo failed to entice people to buy the console and one the consequences are that developers are afraid to make games on the console at the risk of lost their money been unable to back their invest.

Sega don't have a choice, sonic lost world sold poorly, third party companies almost abandoned the wii U, nothing sell well enough unless the game comes from Nintendo.

honestly I didn't like donkey kong country returns from retrostudio, rare did an amazing job make the game fun, amazing music and memorable enemies, something I still can't find in returns, many people are saying graphics looks gorgeous but again to me is not the case, the game looks same like the original wii but in HD which is not good enough to get it, Ill wait some metroid stuff from this studio instead, about smash bros yeah is cool and all that stuff but you people should support more third party games, I am pretty sure bayonetta, watch dogs and project cars will be amazing, if you people still don't support those games maybe 2014 will be the last year we can see any support from these companies.

if other companies like sony get free services like home (virtual avatar 3d world) plus free arcade games inside home why in the hell we should pay for this retro trainer?!!
