When I bought this for Switch 1 two years ago the game crashed a lot for me in Switch 1. It was something about corrupted save data. I tried to fix that in many ways, deleting the corrupted data from the Switch settings, but to no avail. I even returned my game and asked for a new copy, and the game still crashed every now and then. I eventually beat the game, just praying to the game gods the game did not crash. I will try running the game from my Switch 2 to check if the "corrupted data" is still there.
P5R is one of my top 10 games of all time, so I played P3 Reload with great expectations and I was... a bit disappointed. The social sim part is still great, but the constant grinding in only 1 "dungeon" killed all the joy for me.
I love both Octopath Traveler games, I even have both soundtracks in my cell phone, but if they're just going to do more of the same the franchise will become stale. It looks like they're going to add a bit of town management (farm simulator too?), but they need to bring something truly new with this entry.
I grabbed one bundle from Target. 1 second after 11 pm they were sold out, but I kept refreshing until I could place an order like a ninja. Then the struggle of 50 tries to confirm my order, my bank declining one payment, then retrying until I got Target's confirmation email. Good luck everyone!
While I do admire the ultrahand concept and the cool things players have done with it, for me it was too frustrating with the non-intuitive controls and trying to align all damn parts exactly right. Many times I had the right solution to a puzzle but simply because I didn't align all parts almost perfectly the damn construction would fell off or deviate from the target, and then undoing your mechanism and starting again was very tedious and time-consuming. I ended up selling my copy after 40 hours of playing. It wasn't being a fun experience for me.
I think we have to remove the nostalgia goggles because DKC Tropical Freeze is by far the best Donkey Kong game. It is actually the best 2D platformer I've ever played, and I've been playing since SMB 3.
DKC2 was very innovative at the time and the music is great, but the controls are a bit janky and unresponsive. You will also encounter some cheap deaths in some levels and the saving mechanic is very annoying.
"We've excluded a handful of games to prevent repetition." I see Super Mario 3D World, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, and Majora's Mask twice in the list. You should've just counted these games once and include more NES games.
I can't understand all the love for Portal 2. If you take away the voice acting, it's just an ok puzzle game. Baba is You is far better (and harder!) as a puzzle game.
Nintendo directly tweeted this information, lol, I don't understand why this has to be a spoiler. It's like saying "Spoiler! There will be exploration and backtracking in Metroid Prime 4"
I wish someone in the reviews had told me that P5R is 95% visual novel, 5% turn-based RPG. I spent hours advancing through dialogue only to have a battle that is over in 2 turns. Great story, but no one prepared me for how much time I was going to spend just choosing "ok" or "let's go". I had to return the game. At least in Ace Attorney my dialogue choices are significant.
What does a brother have to do to see a discount on Luigi's Mansion 3? These sales may be underwhelming, but in a few days we will see much better deals in Gamestop, Walmart, Amazon, etc. so don't bite just yet.
@Ryu_Niiyama Is it? I have finished 5 out of 8 stories, and I'm about to finish the rest, but all I saw was some personal stories, no grandiose arc or anything, and no mention of destroying gods or anything, unless you're talking about post endgame content.
I had no issues with the "disconnected stories". Sometimes you want an RPG that is more about personal stories instead of the "destroying a tyrannical god" trope from JRPGS. The battle system in Octopath Traveler was the best part about it. I just hope the 2nd part has more QoL improvements, like being able to change the party outside taverns, or traveling to dungeons from the menu. It was annoying to return to a town, equip a thief so you can return to a dungeon and open the last chest.
@Rykdrew For 200% it took me about... 20 hours maybe? Hardest thing for me was getting all gold medals, specially with the bosses, since you can't miss there.
Unpopular opinion: Hollow Knight is unfair and frustrating. You're exploring, trying to survive with one or two "hearts" and then a B.S. mini-boss comes out of nowhere and crushes you, takes all your money, re-start at a very far place, and when you try to return to that place, you die again and you just lost all your money. It happened to me so many times I just quit that game. I don't understand its appeal. I completed DKC Tropical Freeze 200%. got all the gold medals and it was a blast, my favorite 2D platformer in the Switch. Celeste is tough as nails, but you can retry from the same screen, except the dreaded Chap. 9.
I finished the first game. I didn't mind it was a ALttP rip-off, but they removed the fun part of dungeons. In Blossom Tales, dungeons are basically rooms full of monsters. Every dungeon was basically: kill all monsters in one room, advance to the next one. No exploration, clever puzzles or creative uses of items. I will skip this one, and I'm still craving for a good 2D Zelda-like experience.
Summoning Salt is the GOAT. Not only as a speedrunner, his YT videos are more entertaining that most of Netflix or Hulu right now. Seriously, if you haven't watched his channel, do it right now. He presents a narrative for world record progressions so engaging and well produced that it could pass as drama series. He also explains a lot of speedrunning terms and techniques in a very simple way.
@PharoneTheGnome I agree with you completely. I've finished BOTW twice, DLC included, once in WiiU, then again in Switch, thinking I was missing something, but its story is bland, the missions are generic, the shrines cannot compare to actual dungeons, the bosses are a joke, etc. Can't be compared to the missions in, say, Witcher 3, or the engaging story of Xenoblade Chronicles. As for Mario Odyssey, I collected all moons but most of them are just a chore. Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 are some of the best games I've ever played, and Odyssey disappointed me. Overall, I'd put BOTW and Mario Odyssey in 20-15 place, but nowhere near the top. DKC Tropical Freeze is one of my all time favorites 2D platformers. The difficulty is just right, the controls are excellent, the levels have so much attention to detail, etc.
It's a 55% discount, not 60%. A 60% discount would've been $24 each. Still, a great offer, too bad I already own Astral Chain. Great game. @thedudeabides05 Regarding its difficulty, I think it can be quite challenging for a 10 year old, even at its lowest difficulty. It was very rewarding, but it could be frustrating for a kid.

@Serpenterror What do you mean? This game is not available in Switch 1.
EDIT: Oh, you mean the original game, not the remaster.

Can you actually read the info in the menus and UI? That was my main problem with the Wii U version. I stopped playing it because of that.
