@Mowzle You're welcome I'm glad you enjoyed the series, and good luck finding some time to play yourself — Fantasy Life also very good for shorter play sessions if that helps.
@Ron1212 If you find some spare cash and like RPGs I'd definitely recommend picking Fantasy Life up. It's a fun title that's done some neat things with job system mechanics.
@GreatCrippler As far as I know heals can only be cast as self (by pressing or pressing and holding A) or as an area of effect from where the caster stands (by pressing or pressing and holding X).
@Tony_Markos4 Multiplayer is a lot like single player, but player allies are usually stronger than in-game ones at a comparable level and you can gather items much more easily than in single player, especially if the person you're playing with has skills you don't yet — every node that's gathered will drop items for all players regardless of skills.
@Tops I understand completely The release gap is an unfortunate thing to deal with, but please do come back and have a look once you've explored the game for yourself - I'm very impressed by the longevity they've built into the gameplay.
I think I only have one townie left from the start of my mayorship, and have been experiencing more turnover in the past two weeks for some unknown reason. My island in Tomodachi Life has probably descended into a 'Lord of the Flies' system of governance by now, but at least they get the news out on time.
@Samuel-Flutter A tailor can fight monsters, but the larger challenge ones will be difficult until you get a lot of levels on your character. When I switched from hunter to tailor I could still use bows, just not the highest-end ones I could use while still a hunter, and as a tailor I didn't have access to the hunter Life's special combat-boosting skills. I could have easily used the bow to gather items from smaller monsters, but I wouldn't have been able to scratch the giants.
@NImH Unfortunately, I never picked up Little King's Story so I can't make any comparisons. Fantasy Life is a great little game. I'm 45+ hours into it and still feel like I'm just getting started
@scamander I haven't yet found any DLC pricing details, sorry.
@Spoony_Tech "8/10? What was I thinking? Gawwwww!"
@ktribal It isn't a gear-heavy game, but there's certainly some variety in equipment because of the elements. There are 167 tailoring recipes in total IIRC.
@Nictendo64 Hey, I've pulled what information I can from the online manual for you. 1) Apparently you can only play with people in your friends' list. 2) It looks like this is pulled from the 3DS's friends list. 3) You can chat with other players, set short messages and use gestures.
@MegaWatts The female rhenpolos sets are just incomprehensible. I'm wondering how I'll deal with the gypo's fake death move as a gunner — probably by shooting at it.
@Tsuchinoko If you click on the source link the Najarala is referred to as the "wing snake wyvern." I wasn't sure if that was referencing something about the monster that wasn't visible in the post's content so I kept that description. The two large flaps running down the sides of its head might also be considered wings after a fashion, but you're right in that it could simply be a translation error.
@Nintendude789 Indeed, on the Eurozone English manual's page 47, under the "Precautions for Download Software" heading: "Up to 40 Nintendo DSiWare titles can be stored in the System Memory and up to 300 download software titles can be stored on an SD Card."
@Knuckles Thanks! I've been a member for a few years and writing for Nintendo Life for a few weeks, now.
I'm horribly dependent on my CPP XL but whenever my friends and I get together and hunt I'm on the Wii U using the Game Pad. Being ranged, I tend to get the most entertaining victory pictures.
