for as much as I loved Breath of the Wild, I feel like it had a lackluster score for the most part. I enjoyed the ambience and some of the themes, don't get me wrong but I feel like it could've used more music in general. one thing that still bothers me is the fact that Link doesn't wear his green tunic at all in the game or the fact that the Champions were introduced and then promptly killed off (though we've got the new Champions).

I realize that this is slightly off subject but yeah. I would love to see a playable Zelda in a mainstream game.. considering that it IS the Legend of Zelda after all. maybe with a couch co-op option? def would be cool to track dungeons with some buds of mine

I'm really getting tired of games getting compared to Breath of The Wild, regardless if it's the score or the gameplay just stop. BoTW is a phenomenal game and other games may or may not take inspiration but it wasn't the first game in it's genre and it won't be the last. I know it's unrelated to the review but come on.

@dres why assume it wouldn't work? it's never been done before and it has the chance to be a decent 3D Sonic at worst and the best Sonic game in years at best.

@nocdaes we don't know that. SEGA hasn't shown off the antagonist either but there could be locations and references to other Sonic games. I get Sonic and The Black Knight vibes from it. BoTW2 hasn't shown us anything too different from the first game with few exceptions but people are still hyped for it. SEGA is no Nintendo don't get me wrong but I do think it's safe to be "cautiously excited". I am concerned by the lack of gameplay though as they pulled a similar stunt with Forces

@dres what are you talking about? Mario Odyssey had real humans in New Donk City and the Dragon as a fight. Mario managed not to stand out (at least not too much), yeah? we should keep our expectations low but don't bash a game that hasn't released dude

literally hate this. hate this trend. celebrities should not replace beloved VAs. I.. I'm trying to give this a chance but I feel so angry. Charles Martinet was one of the voices of my childhood and to see him discarded so easily for celebrity star power?? I.. I never thought I'd see that. I.. I always thought Nintendo was better.. that Miyamoto knew better.
I don't mean to judge or to sound toxic but.. it just feels discouraging. I honestly don't know if I can support this movie. maybe I should but this all feels like a slap in the face for Mr. Martinet

that cat is so waiting for that box. it's nice that Mr. Sakurai can have a chance to chill out and relieve some of the stress Smash Ultimate gave him and the rest of the dev team. I do wonder when I'll be able to get a PS5 though..

@andykara2003 I'm not sure if this is an actual question but as a Mario fan myself, Sonic has had amazing games over the years. Sonic Adventure (Sonic Adventure 2) and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 are two of the best titles in the whole series.

remember: just because we're Mario fans doesn't mean that Sonic or any other series is automatically inferior. Sonic's had his rough patch for sure, but hopefully it'll come to an end

@FNL each FE character may be similar on paper but each plays differently in execution. the claim that Fire Emblem is overrepresented as well as the reason for all of them being playable is due to the "everyone is here" tagline which defined Smash Ultimate. Chrom was included as an echo fighter because he was a highly requested character, just as @Tobiaku explains.

no one is deifying Sakurai and he didn't get to choose the DLC, it was Nintendo. if anything he had some role to play but ultimately it was Nintendo's choice.

@FNL as a Fire Emblem fan I'm really struggling to not curse at you for both the generalization and that hate you're dumping on this series. Sora is great addition and wonderful way to end the DLC waves. let's enjoy every character and stop whining that our favorites didn't make it.

if you're going to complain and whine about FE then remember: a plant made it in the game. let that sink in. so next time you plan on hating on FE you'd be wise to remember that

I've been happy with every single character chosen. From Piranha Plant to Byleth and Terry to Steve. I've never complained.. and I won't start now. Whoever this last fighter is let's welcome it with open arms.

There was this game I had on the GBA. I think it was called Power Rangers: Dino Thunder and I would play the opening stage (with a tutorial mind you) over and over again just to hear the song!

Then there was Star Light Zone from Sonic 1 and the first two levels of Super Mario Bros. 3 on the GBA. Ah.. good times.

@XenoShaun Sounds charming! What I love most about these games are the non-stop action and the local co-op gameplay. I have quite a few games in my backlog but SW5 is one I just might get sooner rather than later.

You mentioned an NDA so am I right to assume you worked on the game or were given an early copy?

Hmm. That's so adorable. Seeing things like this always brings a smile to my face. If ever got the chance I think I'd buy some of these for the future. Who knows right?

@The_New_Butler @scannerdarkly7 I'm terrible with machines. If I had bought these controllers I wouldn't even think about opening them up with my track record. I don't know how simple it is or how complicated but I find the thought unbearable ha ha!

@BloodNinja Exactly. Disney's live action remake of The Lion King is a great example of this. It's interesting but some franchises are better served through animated series/movies while others through live action shows/movies.

@faint I agree actually. However Castlevania was an animated series. Not live action. I think that Pokémon works best in an animated setting but as you said The Witcher was a solid show and from what I hear it was a great one.

@mr-duster I'm referring to the fact that not all things need to be re-made in live action. Pokémon has a great anime (despite a solid live action movie in Detective Pikachu) and I think it's best it remain that way. Not everything works in live action. Of course this is only an opinion.

@RupeeClock Is that so? I haven't used/checked or updated my 3DS in quite a while so I guess I was out of the loop. However I agree that removing the icon would be for the best. Now that I think about it I don't think I ever used that feature. Was it any good?

I'm hurt by the fact that this person just opened up a $60.00 set of Joy-Cons (with a special Zelda design no less!) as if it were nothing.

I don't think I trust Netflix or whoever this director is with Pokémon. Best to stick with the animated series or something similar. If it isn't broken.. then don't fix it. Please.

I haven't watched the movie but I agree. If I were to ever watched this movie (which isn't likely) I would be bothered by all these inaccuracies. Times are changing and movies like this prove it. Gone are the times when movies were made with a story in mind.

The majority of movies today are simple cash grabs by companies who will attempt to use a franchise's popularity for their own benefits while also no taking the time to understand why said franchise is popular in the first place. Regardless this was a great read and article.

That's great. I am sort of happy that it doesn't have any features that leave older model Switch owners behind. I mean yeah. It does have quite a few features but nothing too groundbreaking or limited to only this model. So there's that.

@Joeynator3000 I'd love to see this. In fact a game where Peach (and Luigi for that matter) are playable and have various different clothing designs would be amazing. Maybe throw in some local multiplayer in there too?

I'm open to whoever it may be. I've loved all of these characters in their own way and have had fun playing as all of them. I even have a couple of mains from them. Smash Ultimate is not just a game but a true work of passion and I hope that after this Sakurai and his team can all take a long deserved break.

If Sakurai wants to retire or work on another game then it's his decision but I have no complaint about this game or the characters chosen. I just hope that people could at least be honorable and not harass Sakurai once the final character is revealed.

I would have felt more confident in this movie had it been any other studio. Only time will tell I guess.

I fought Kazuya (Lv. 9) three times last night and twice this morning with Kazuya. I won all the matches except the second since I had a misfire and fell off stage. I don't see what's so special about the CPU. Yeah he's more challenging than some of the others but he's also still pretty predictable once you fight him enough.

Updated this morning and took Kazuya for a spin. He's OK but I honestly would've preferred Jin. I am enjoying the Burning Town song with my Shantae mii so even though she's not "actually" in the game it's a nice consolation prize.

I get the impression that Kazuya takes some time to get used to but when you do he will be a powerhouse I can promise you that. As for me I'll stick to playing as Terry.
