@DiggleDog but yours is the unfortunate baseline view held by leftists: MY view of politics is the correct one, and i will push it on all those around me. so those of us who don't define ourselves ideologically, or those who find themselves in other ideologies, find themselves alienated by the constant pushing of leftist ideologies from games, games media, and elsewhere. we aren't asking for OUR politics to be represented. we just are tired of being force-fed YOUR politics as the baseline for truth and virture.
it's ironic, because this is the exact same behavioral issue leftists have with organized religion (everything else is evil, mine is correct, and i will force it upon you), and yet they do the same with their own beliefs.
Nicely done! As for the next Zelda for me, I'm over open world games. Absolutely open-world fatigued. I want a nice, tight, curated, highly-polished, smaller, closed-world experience. Ocarina or Twilight sized. Quality over quantity.
I know they've basically included literally every Mario world NPC type ever in this game, but seeing the first two being from Mario Sunshine is getting me hyped for a potential Sunshine 2...THAT would be a system seller for me.
@Xbox_Dashboard HEAR HEAR. switch 2 has wii u written all over it, and actually much worse (wii U's main problems were only bad marketing and not enough games). sorry, i love nintendo more than most, but i'm going to keep it real. i've loved nintendo probably longer than many people posting here have even been alive. but i'm going to call it as it is, and not do mental gymnastics to defend blatantly poor/bad decisions by a company i love.
Guys, just because a price isn't comparatively high doesn't mean it's a consumer-friendly practice. Performance updates like this have been free as an industry standard for the past two console generations. Nintendo is setting a bad precedent here.
Does it feel weird to anyone else how this game was unveiled with virtually no fanfare? This game has been massively hyped for years and years, and IIRC, this is the first gameplay reveal. This should have been an absolutely monumental reveal, full of hype. And then, it's tucked unceremoniously into the middle of a B-tier direct?
I adore nintendo but their most loyal supporters are/were wiiu owners, and the company completely betrayed them in many ways, without ever so much as offering a consolation or note of appreciation. I haven’t forgotten that.
@dr-ghost And a note on Special Reserve Games: I have had dealings with them where they blatantly lied to their customers, false advertised (to the point of even changing the product listing after taking my money) string people along for multiple years-long preorder windows (paid up front) with little to no communication, and refuse to cancel your order for any reason.
I think what a lot of people don't get about Limited Run Games is there is no other feasible way to publish physical copies of niche games that is not essentially "made-to-order". Most gamers buy digital now. So games with very niche followings make very little money. A small publisher literally can't afford to print enough copies to distribute around retailors globally and have it remain in stock long enough for people to not be upset at them. There just isn't enough market for these games.
If you follow their release schedule, they make plenty of announcements and keep their order window open for a long time. They give you plenty of warning before the window closes. I have ordered many games through them and have never had a bad experience, unlike other limited publishers like the objectively terrible iam8bit and absolutely abysmal Special Reserve Games.
So again, if your beef is that the games are limited, they have to be they wouldn't exist otherwise. If your beef is that they're expensive in the aftermarket, Limited Run doesn't benefit from that, so that's not on them.
Again, change your view on this from "they're creating artificial scarcity and benefiting from jacked up after market prices" (because that's misinformed and false) to "this is a great company publishing physical copies of niche games that otherwise would never have been made, in a made-to-order fashion. Better make sure to not miss the pre-order window!"

@Zeldinion "games/art are always political!" but only if it's YOUR politics, right?

@TheMainMii
"Not a bad price"
Anything above 'free' for this is a bad price
Re: Opinion: A Few Too Many Questions & Unwelcome Surprises Are Taking The Shine Off The Switch 2 Reveal
Prices too high. Game boxes too big. System not powerful enough. Game codes in a cart are trash. Where the heck is Mario?

I want this to be true but based on what I've seen so far, I'm not seeing it.

"the mental barrier of 500 bucks"
there's nothing mental about it for many of us. it is a real, financial barrier.

Tariffs have next to nothing to do with it.
Re: First Impressions: Nintendo Switch 2 'Wows' Most When You Go Back To Your Old Switch
Not impressed. Nintendo could have done more and charged less.
Re: Nintendo Expects You To Pay For Its Switch 2 "Welcome Tour" User Guide
Nintendo is going to get humbled this generation. I see another Wii U.
Re: Elden Ring Coming To Switch 2
It looks worse than the PS4 version. Nintendo, what are you doing?
Re: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond Gets A New Trailer, But No Release Date

But they didn't even save it for last, or give it any sort of suspense-building intro. Just, plop, here's Metroid Prime 4, and...next!

But most of all, I want a proper boxed, physical, standalone release of Goldeneye with proper multiplayer.
