this is still a little annoying, I was looking forward to at least playing ranked using voice chat, with strangers, for strategy and coordination.

from a consumer prospective, I do not see the reason to establish whether it more of a console or a handheld, it will be more of one or the other in different ways for different people. Myself, for example, I reckon that im mainly going to be using it as a home console, however I have to take a dreary bus ride every morning, and will thus fullfill the role of a handheld in that instance. There is no point trying to set iron bars on such a flexible system.

do i get this or redout?

I'm interested, for anyone with experience is it possible to play games like these without knowing any Japanese?

Its a shame. I was predicting/ hoping that they would hype it up mid June at E3, and then say guess what its out next week enjoy! i could understand July but August is the back end of the summer and the 18th is closer to the end of the month than the beginning of it. so overall a little upset. but who knows this could be subject to change since this is Nintendo's next big release after MK8DX in late April.

@Syrek24 you make a good point, I love Nintendo ive already preordered the switch on the first day. I think i just wrote that comment with a bit of rage.

for the love of god nintendo, why must you be arrogant pricks about it a game like this could show cynics of the system that it is getting support.

While no new tracks have been announced. Im going to assume that we will be getting a direct for all the upcoming games, that will go into more detail about games such as MK8DX, in which I think, but mostly hope, that they will announce new tracks already in the game or at least more dlc coming in the near future perhaps in the summer

Thank the gods miiverse is gone. although i will miss streetpass, it was a simple thing yet satisfying as you collected others' miis. Nintendo Life can you do a article on the UI of the switch.

Im going to get it, the MK series if my favourite series. But i really want some new cups and tracks. since there isnt a new MK game in sight

While Im going to buy it, I really wanted a sequel to X, considering the frickin cliff hanger it left us on. And i enjoyed that game a lot more than the original one, ( in all fairness, I have yet to finish the first). But a sequel to X would have made more sense.

well i think UK pricing could be anywhere between £200-£250. depending on how much UK retailers feel like screwing us over. Cough cough "Game"

despite being dubbed, Tatsumi Kimishima doesnt strike me as the person to put on a cheery charming show, and instead will opt for more of a functional show case.

@UK-Nintendo I didn't realise a lot of people did that, why so many?

@UK-Nintendo I reckon that along with the majority of wii u users coming to the switch i imagine there will be a lot of early adopters from the 3DS users, which has a user base of about 60 million.

@Peach64 I think the 'newness' of the system may be able to sway people into purchasing the system for £200 or a little over that. For a new piece of hardware it could also be considered relatively cheap as it compares to the price of a four year old console

if its £200, im more than happy. Initially i was saving to be ready to fork over £300 if i had to. But hopefully peripherals and accessories such as the pro controller aren't £50, along with obviously purchasing a game or two that are also £50.

@Nintendo_Ninja you don't necessarily need proof that they are working on it, since they confirmed the project earlier this year for a 2017 release.

quite frankly, i think what they said is BS, but at the same time it makes perfect sense if they were to support the wii u spending money making physical copies, they would probably make a loss there. And since the game is coming out in April and the Switch is coming out in march it makes perfect sense to port it to that system in time with the other console releases. Lets hope that is the case.

@alasdair91 he is a good leap better than other CEO's announcing things, like he hasn't got a droning nasal voice like the XBOX dude.

While the ports are a good idea on the surface, as there are tons of people whow ould get a chance to play these amazing games, the industry critics would still rip into nintendo for not working hard enough, to create enough new games for launch and first year and relying on old games, and people will take this and bury it in their minds and have a initial negative stigma about Nintendo for another generation.

what hope has GAME got, they're CEO is just too out of touch, they sell things at an extraordinary price, in so far as they're 180% worse of in terms of profit, and they think the solution to that is raising the prices of things like preowned games or even new games, when i can order them from amazon for £5 cheaper. plus they have almost always shunned nintendo in the last 10 years or so, giving them a small dingy corner in their stores expecting things to sell. sure they had a bit of marketing for the 3DS when it released, but as soon as they saw it wasn't selling right away, they practically dropped marketing. To be honest, in the end i probably will end up getting my Switch at game as they will have all the bundles and it will be the quickest way to get it over amazon for example.

I miss the days, when either Reggie or Iwata san, would be delighted to tell the world about their consoles and everything they have lined up for them, with such passion. I swear Kimishima thinks he's running the Yakuza, while i think hes made some good moves as the President, his secrecy on the NX is entirely unnecessary, because the excuse they are using of not wanting they're technologies copied is a bit nonsensical, companies need more than a year to get products from concept to reality even if they are copies, like Playstations mock of motion controls wasn't released until the Wii was way into its life cycle. Its getting to a point where I think I'm going to be dissapointed in someway or another by the NX just because of the wide spread list of rumours and nonsense thats been going around for the ast year or so. Hopefully that isn't the case,

To be honest, I don't know if anyone else experiences this, but the people who basically had a DS or Wiic(out of hype at the time), never call them that they allways say something odd like "oh its a Nintendo" which I allways think to be a bit bizarre, so maybe just going back to their roots a little and giving the system a minimalist name rather than something funky, such as simply "The Nintendo" or if they really cant think of anything, to be honest "NX" does sound quite cool. And for the past year and a half every Nintendo fan has basically gotten used to calling it that, to be honest I will probably keep using that name even after i get the real one.
