@JaxonH i agree with a lot. Tbh BOTW is the bext example that graphics are secondary when deciding a game is great or not. The switch can handle open world games (Botw/Xenoblade) so a MH5 proper (not branded as portable) would be just fine. Witha an aesthetic style closer to MH4/XX but HD, and with vibrant colors, vs the muddy dark tones of EVERY openworld game on PS4/XBO.
@Kalmaro Yup Yup ! Every numbered monster hunter game has the equal number of dragons in their logo. 3 had 3 dragons, 4 had 4, and MHW has 5. If capcom relased a new MH game on switch it’d prob be MH6, but prob rebrand it as MH5. The same way Konami pretends MGSV is not MGS6 (cuz Peace Walker is MGS5). That being said X/XX is a spin-off concept, but a Main Line game anyways.
Considering MHGen didnt have G-rank (one of the most attractive things for the fans), plus more monsters (Atlal Ka, Valphalk, Massacre Diablos), plus more deviants... I think fans would really like MHXX for either Switch or 3DS. It's sad capcom doesnt just localize them before MHW comes out.
Love how people compare the PS4 version with the (Not-released-yet) Switch version, when we all know the superior version (and the highest selling version) is the 3DS version.
@Crono1973 You are fun. If a writer can influence your mind on something it's a thing from both sides. There are people that read the article that simply say 'meh,' and give it no mind; Others will react like "OMG! I WANT THAT!" People are different, and react differently. You can say the writer has 'blame' (lol?) when influencing others and that makes sense. But painting the writer as a villain is like blaming a cashier when you super-size a meal, just because they offered: “If only the hadn’t said anything, I wouldn’t have done this.” You can simply say 'meh,' and give it no mind.
@Crono1973 I get your point. I don't agree with it. Prediction on any publication is an 'opinion piece.' Each person is responsible for their own feelings. If you build up expectations inside yourself based on what other people say, it's your own fault when those expectations are not met. I have expectations of this direct too, but if they are not met, I'm not going to blame an internet say for things that i do to myself.
I'm planning to get this game. I've been meaning to play a normal turn based RPG and this ought to be it. It looks great and the the gameplay is deeply ingrained into the story concept.
I played RER on 3DS and it's my absolute fav horror shooter. I didnt hear great things about RER2, but the price tag is ok, and I would love to go on co-op.
When I'm running for my life trying to avoid death, being chased by a monster larger than life, you know what I think? 'Gee, look how pretty and HD that flower is!" The strength of MH (MHXX and MHW) is the gameplay, and mechanics. People want to fight monsters, thats all.
@thesilverbrick I felt MHX also lacked a bit of direction. TBH the fact that there is little hand holding, and the small text really makes it hard to keep focus and almost makes you want to skip all conversations. BUT!!!!! Once you get over the all the 1 star quests, you get the feeling of what MH is all about. Instead of trying to play the game based on the story, just think of it like a checklist. (MHX actually sets up you quests as a list with checkmarks, to make you focus on the fact that the game is about finishing quests XD ) As a side note, i'm not sure why, but most MH fans LOVE the fact that there is very little hand holding. On my part, the fact that there is no in-game guide for using the 14 weapons was the reason I held-off playing the game for months after buying it. I think it's totally normal to be weary of the game at first. Once i got used to the idea that i wanted to only main the weapons i think are cool (bows, heavy bowguns, sword/shield, charge blade), and that most of the satisfaction in MH comes from personal growth as a player rather than the vast ammount of in-game rewards, It was easier to get into it. I feel more accomplishment from figuring out how to defeat a monster that seems impossible to beat, than from being able to forge new equipment. XD
I'm getting the DLC 4, since I want more story. I dunno why people complain so much. DLC is NOT A MUST. They can sell whatever they want, in however way they want, for whatever price they want. YOU don't have to buy it. I already pro-ordered the LE and I'm ok with paying a bit more for more story that is a nice companion piece to an already full game.
@Onion Man, if you don't even understand the implications of your own words, then I'm note sure how you reach conclusions at all. But granted, If you think FE is not FE anymore, why do you care at all what intelligent systems does with their franchise? they do the 'actual' games, and in your opinion they are not 'actual fe games.' I can;t say that you 'think' they betrayed their fanbase, but you do say they lost FE's 'integrity' to sell more games. Who ever heard of a business doing something different to increase their sales, amirite? Look, FE is not what you want it to be. And that is sad. And it will prob never be what you want it to be. And that;s even sadder. And they are sure as hell never removing the casual mode. That's even more sad. Why do you still like a franchise that doesnt do what you like? They 'dumbed down' your beloved FE and it's only a shadow of what it used to be right? And they will never go back. You should move on to games that don't do what Intelligent systems and nintendo have done. Otherwhise, if you still like awakening and fates, all you are doing in this comment section is venting your frustations at the game makers, and the new/old fanbase. Oh, but what is another word for venting? complaining?whining? what do i know?
@Onion Whooooo... It must be so sad that nintendo doesn't cater to you. I mean, you could enjoy the newer FE games like everyone else. You complaints are the same as "why isnt this game on wiiU/switch?" You want it to be the way you want it to be, but nintendo and intelligent systems OWN the franchise, and will do what they want with it. And they know how to make/sell/market them well since awakening and fates are the highest selling games in the whole franchise with fates doing better than awakening. And yeah, maybe Nintendo wouldn't have cancelled FE if awakening hadn't sold above their goal, but it most certainly wouldn't have been localised at all, prob wouldnt have any western releases after that, and prob would have been cancelled after the eventual failure of the sequel to awakening. "I'd rather FE awakening hadnt sell well, and FE had remained what it was" is your argument, and It's a stupid one.
Well, maybe it's not a stupid argument, but it's a misguided one. "Change or Die."
@Maxz LOL I gotcha. SS was super linear. (I kinda consider ALBW a 3D one considering the amount of 3D puzzles in it. LOL Not that anyone might agree.) XP

@Maxz You mean Triforce Heroes? Or A link between worlds? CUz linearity is kind-of key on co-op games, and ALBW was super non-linear.
