@Astral-Grain Continue playing it friend, you'll sadly discover that the score is quite well earned.
I honestly doubt that they will able to fix every broken aspect in this game. There are so many issues and glitches that i simply don't have the time to mention everything.
I recommend the steam discussions to read up on everything for a detailed explanation.
@-wc- You're clearly misunderstanding the point of my answer. I'm obviously not going to do anything other than to find another community that actually focuses on video games and not political biases. That was my whole point if they foster these very specific ideas and cultish hives that is what you will get in the end, and let's be honest here they can claim its due to some moral issue but i've already seen this user "nessionett" actively bully and cursing out others several times in the past whom he didn't agree with, calling them all sorts of ism, ist or phobe without hesitation.
And that's the problem with politics it creates cognitive dissonance where people think it's ok to dehumanize people who you don't agree with.
And the more they let politics sip into their site the more it will slowly but surely resemble a political outlet while turning off people who are there for the original topic, thus we eventually end up getting fantastic Kotaku articles like their PS5 launch article where the journalist instead ended up ranting about the economy and about Biden's presidency.
First we got Adam Howden's now iconic Shulk whom is definitely up there at the top spot of all English language dubs. And now Harry McEntire now rivals this with his excellent Noah performance.
I really would hope Square-Enix would start putting some effort into their own English dubs, because games like Triangle Strategy would have benefited tremendously from a better dub seeing at it sadly only sounded like bottom of the barrel Z list California actors. (Serenoa's voice over was horrendous).
@ThePizzaCheese True the fps chugged badly in several spots as bosses and open areas, it was disappointing as the GameCube version were rather stable. Hopefully they'll fix that here.
@Shadow_Dancer Don't even acknowledge he's just being disingenuous and trying to be inflamatory, that's why i don't take the people who follow these ideological agendas seriously. Because they lie!
@SmaggTheSmug Exactly "they" meaning rich trustfund activist use all these beloved IP's as kooky experiments to further their message, the only good thing about this garbage series was that Lance Riddick got payed (love the guy). Nothing else.
@farrgazer The problem is that endless credit continues for a console game vs an arcade games are completely different. That's why he meant by "weak willed"
A console game is more likely to leave you at a checkpoint from the start of the level you where you were defeated and thus not destroying your challenge, but the arcade game is just looking for your quarters meaning if you play a home conversion of an arcade (where you are likely to recieve endless credits) you are likely combat the urge to credit feed through the game and then just continue where you fell, the end result is simply that you'll just complete the game in 25-30 min and then afterwards you likely will wonder what the big deal was with that game and why it's held so high up, when in fact the whole point of most if not all arcade games is to delve into the challenge of pattern recognition and learn the game back and forth.
Some who aren't aquinted to arcade games might wonder why wouldn't you credit feed at the arcades and its simple because you'd loose a fortune, so that's one of the reasons why you had to learn the game.
@Waluigi451 He probably just means it's too easy to just fall into credit feeding and thus killing any kind of challenge that the players could have otherwise enjoyed.
And i kind of agree unlimited insta continues for arcade games kind destroy the experience.
If you hunger for a new Megaman experience this is a great game especially when it comes to core of the game play, there's a fair amount of content to collect, and while it's disappointing that they didn't translated the two games the game barely has any text.
I'd love it to be the Garou 2 that was already 70% finished, meaning continuing the heritage of pixelart, maybe throwing a couple of new characters on top of that, but i seriously doubt they'd be able to do that, even Yasuyuki Oda himself has stated this. These days they would probably have to make it 3d for the larger market. Which is a damn shame.
The Breakers games are almost too good to be true when you account that it's such a late SF2 ripoff. It's frustrating to wait but the idea of having rollback makes it worth any wait.
Ok but what puzzles me here is how do we order the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 special edition if we don't live in the UK or US? I live in neither of those places.
My Nintendo store only does shipping within the UK or US, so does that mean that only 3 countries in the world (US, UK and Japan) will get access to this special edition?
@BlubberWhale The remastering of sprites and backgrounds were comprised of 100% all new assets, they're meant to resemble the classic ones but they are all made from scratch, but here's the thing most pixel art is often drawn at lower resolutions as to fit on a 480p screen. Because pixel art in itself is an art style meant to shine on lower resolutions, So when designing a this type of game they need to fit it both on new and old TV's, as many people prefer to play these games on an old school CRT TV, which automatically ads the scanlines and dithering creating an impression of higher detail which makes pixel art games look even better.
And with this said it sadly also means that most pixel art games tend not look the best when blown out on a giant 55 or 60 inch 4k LCD screen, luckily the Switch own portable screen is an absolute banger for pixel art games,
Many people have a separate TV to play pixel art games, i have 20 inch standard resolution TV set up for playing old-school 2D games.
Then there are 2D games like Streets of Rage 4 which are not pixel art but instead are hand drawn these are more meant for higher resolutions as 720p 1080p, 4k screens and such.
@Silly_G Well i already broke down why the post process in most TV"s are unreliable, you seem angry by the fact that i wrote that you are coming from a place of ignorance, and hey that's ok we don't know everything and we learn new things everyday.
The main issue here is that you're talking like you already know what these products do without even having researched them, having experimented, seen them or touched them so you barely have an understanding of what they do or what the results are. It simply not a good look.
And the cable optimized for cinema is meant to reconstructs an image from a lower resolution with an AI algorithm mainly aimed at upscaling movies and media from lower resolution and upscaling them to higher resolutions. This is mainly useful for the tons of movies which are not currently available on Blu-Ray or streaming in higher resolutions, which statistically are most movies, as it is mostly either new movies, Hollywood movies or high budget movies that receive the Blu Ray release, but there are thousands of movies trapped in lower resolution formats.
What i think is important here is to understand that just because there are existing devices that doesn't sound useful or exciting to YOU does not mean others won't have an actual use for them, i would recommend that you reflect on this idea, because it comes across as somewhat solopsistic.
@Silly_G Now you're just speaking from ignorance, i have the Mclassic which upscales all games up to 1440p and while i would never claim it looks exactly like a true native 1440p signal i would say it does do a truly great job for being such a small device working every thing off in post process with absolutely no added lag. In fact i was so impressed that i bought a secondary cable from the same company for movie upscaling, it does a tremendous job, and btw playing around with your TV settings will not magically enhance your games suddenly adding temporal anti-aliasing, depth of field or enriching your games with actual detailed saturation, what you'll get from your added TV settings by activating added TV effects is an added 3-4 extra frames of lag in your games and smudge everything over with inaccurate bitrate and un-synchronized post processing .
@JaxonH Play it and you will understand why the high score, this game is not a random indie quirky or experimental game, it is a legendary action/adventure title, a near perfect Snes game brought up TO perfection here due to the arduous works, fixes and visual improvements meticulously done by the original devs.
It is a type of game that has virtually endless replay value thanks to how entertaining the game play mechanics are.
If you want to prepare properly then give the Snes Pocky and Rocky games a look, you also have the two other games produced and remastered by Tengo Project which are Wild Guns Reloaded and Ninja Warriors once again (Ninja Saviors).
The three main developers are the same who made the originals.
I've always liked Visco corporation who were the devs for first game, they made Breakers 1& revenge (fighting game) and both Vasara games (shmups) both Neo Geo games.
Oddly enough they always lagged behind graphically for some odd reason, well compared to other NeoGeo games at least, but definitely made it up in charm.
@Fizza Don't worry first one is an extremely unknown game, it was released only in Japan in 1999 and wasn't even ported to the home version of neo geo console.
I really enjoyed this, my only beef is how bad the English voice acting is currently (and tends to be in these games). I wish they went for a British voice cast instead of the typical corny California accent that completely kills off any type of medieval vibes in these type of games.
@Snatcher hollow knight is generally such a cheap game that it's almost worth owning on several systems, Okami also happens to be one of those games you can play again and again and always find some new little detail.
@Would_you_kindly It is but here's the kicker, it would actually be able to display some much finer looking graphics if either Nintendo or another company had a custom engine built to tackle the Switch lower specs, right now most are using engine's as Unreal engine 4, this is an absurdity and an exercise in futility, as the UE4 is an engine that is too heavy even for the PS4 and Xone (it is mainly shines on PC games), hence why so few games on this engine run at full 1080p on consoles.
If Nintendo was a bit smarter they would have produced an exclusive, free to use (for devs at least) custom light weight engine, when producing Switch games
But instead smaller third party developers are forced to pick wonky engines like "Unity" (that isn't really cut out for larger ambitious 3d games or UE4 and end up using effects and rendering that completely decimates the Switch lower bandwidth and cpu.
Believe me you could actually produce great visuals on the Switch, its just that it must be built with the hardware in mind, it cannot be a port of a ambitious PC or console game running on a work station engine.
@moodycat I would recommend to analyze which specific places in the game are resulting more difficult than usual, and then take a look at how others might encounter or tackle those areas, playthrough on YouTube or Twitch are great places for that. Sometimes it can be a very simple thing as ignoring certain skills and powers. Or misunderstanding the purpose of certain power ups. By observing how others play will often result in that "Aha" moment and save you lots of frustration.
@The_Top_Loader Chun Li is one of the best characters in the game. In fact Chun is S-A tier in most SF games.
This is the nefarious issue with agendas, because reality is often messy and not one dimensional, activists basically have to twist, omit and lie in order to make things fit their particular narrative.
And to be honest i've left so many sites due to them being hijacked by identity politics and extremists views.
What annoys me is that they of course say that they are for equality but that simply not true, if you dont adhere to absolutely everything they say you are out of the club, besides not everyone lives in the US, shares or understands their cultural sensitivities, while constantly updating the new rules, pronouns and terms that are now deemed offensive, so it's it's not sustainable to be able to follow this very small subset of extremists views.
I'll see if they really continue posting stuff like this ill have to search for a new home.
Also Chun Li "fast but weak" whamen argument was a funny one, as in SF2:WW Chun Li was one of the most popular (together with Ryu) characters in the arcades and is still considered S tier in most games she appears, don't worry i played it competitively in the arcades the same year it was released 1991. In fact 1 well placed combo, can completely end the round, also don't be doing my girl Blaze Fielding dirty here.
How does these articles have anything to do with the games you mentioned besides a cheap reason to slip in your agenda.
I actually grew up in the 80's as minority, my groups of fiends everyone was accepted, we didn't even think about the fact that we had people who were girls or black people as long as they were a cool people, so get out of here with the "boys club" stuff. I swear i wouldn't be surprised if turns out that you were born in 1997 or something, and you're seeing all this stuff through propaganda and revisionist history.
@nessisonett
First the developers are female so yeah they know.
You do understand the very simple fact that sex sells right?
You cannot change biology, we will always fetishise this, humans will continue to create art and portrayals both made in realistic and exaggerated body proportions, in other words anything that the human mind craves for, why? Because we are hardwired to wish, like and obsess about it.
If this is the case then the Metroid series has been spared. Mercury steam has to be one of the most inept studios out there that actually gets opportunities.
Their Castlevania LOS was mediocre at best with the two sequels being absolutely terrible i simply don't understand how their studio doesn't get closed down.
A real fortune they didn't get their paws on the Metroid franchise they would have destroyed it as they did with the Castlevania franchise.
Guy's seriously never accept mediocrity in your games because Mercury Steam is the pure definition of mediocrity.

A real fortune they didn't get their paws on the Metroid franchise they would have destroyed it as they did with the Castlevania franchise.
Guy's seriously never accept mediocrity in your games because Mercury Steam is the pure definition of mediocrity.
