Fighting fans will be pleased to hear the upcoming Breakers Collection will support both rollback netcode and cross-play compatibility.
This classic collection, which started out in arcades and on the Neo Geo, includes Visco Corporation's Breakers (1996) and Breakers Revenge (1998) and is apparently "still coming" this year in both digital and physical form. With online features, there'll be all sorts of new features and content.
Here's a bit extra information about what to expect from this collection:

Bruno Carvalho and Marcel Bernardi, leads of the Breakers Collection project, shared with the public new info regarding the online play. The game will feature lobbies and player profile customization with unlockable cosmetics, including quotes and avatars. Another feature that got people really excited is the Interactive Replay function, which allows the player to take control of a recording at any point, to study and discover new solutions in match encounters.
A new game mode was also highlighted during the transmission, besides the already known Training mode, a Team Battle mode was also confirmed, which allows players to take a group of characters into a fight. A gallery containing fan arts and marketing materials from the 90’s (when the game was originally released) and new character colors options will also be included in the Collection.
The development team at QUByte Interactive is excited to support both online and offline tournaments post-launch.

Good now just give us a release date please.
"the Interactive Replay function, which allows the player to take control of a recording at any point, to study and discover new solutions in match encounters."
This is a BRILLIANT idea that I'm shocked more fighting games haven't implemented, but one I hope to see more of in the genre from now on.
Where is a release date, huh?! This game was delayed, once or twice... And yet, they still don't have release date. There's just 2 Neo Geo games with Rollback netcode in this "collection"... And hey, when we began calling dilogy/duology games as "collection"? Ah yeah, developers began that, not gamers... Proper collection needs to consist from 3 mainline games and 1 spin-off game, at least.
I can see it now, every team will have Tia pre-filled in one of the slots. But yeah, I guess this is why it’s taken a while to come out. Good call on including rollback.
TheoryFighter convinced me about this one's credentials, very excited to play it for the first time!
@CharlieGirl This seems like witchcraft to me, but it is definitely a brilliant idea with a lot of uses in competitive gaming. I can see this being a requisite feature for future fighting games.
@JasmineDragon Doesn't Smash Bros. already have this feature?
At this stage I'd prefer Hamster to port the game along with Visco's other Neo Geo games. QUByte is just trolling people at the stage.
Also I found it surprising that this game still have a tournament scene, out of the numerous Neo Geo fighting games. World Heroes Perfect IIRC is on the same boat.
C-Crossplay AND rollback?!? the mad lads are playing God! But for f**k sake where’s m’release date?!?
The Breakers games are almost too good to be true when you account that it's such a late SF2 ripoff. It's frustrating to wait but the idea of having rollback makes it worth any wait.
@russell-marlow I don't know, it's news to me if it has it. I was never much of a Smash player, so it might have a lot of features I'm not aware of.
A while ago I googled for lists of the best Neo Geo games. I looked for ranked lists at least 25 games long. I awarded points based on rank, and added it all up. I ended up finding 7 qualifying websites, 410 entries and 132 unique titles.
Breakers and Breakers Revenge barely cracked the top 100.
I think this collection is for Neo Geo completists only.
