I'm holding out hope that they look better in person because I do not like these renders at all.
Something about the giant red forehead with the tiny switch 2 logo, and the way the red banner bleeds into the red plastic along the side of the case... It takes the focus away from the game art, and kinda makes it look asymmetrical. Compared to Switch 1 cases which were translucent and didn't have much to take your eyes away from the beautiful cover art.
Sending that into the YouTube live chat is equivalent to screaming into the void.
There needs to be a combination of vocal outrage (with articles like this covering it) AND underwhelming sales for Nintendo to consider dropping the price.
@KBuckley27 "Last-gen" is a weird concept here. Switch is last gen, but it struggled with some of its own 1st party games! PS4 was last gen, and it far out out powered the Switch and its 2015 tablet specs.
So sure, all of these upgraded games could've easily run on most last gen consoles, but not the Switch. Switch 2 will give developers a lot more breathing room instead of having to heavily optimize to get stunning looking games.
Why why why is it a game key? I know that game could fit on a cartridge, easy. I thought the game key thing would be for huge games that require installs on other systems.
Also, it was my impression that game installs on PS5 and Xbox are mostly due to limitations of optical disc read speeds? Much faster to read from an SSD than a Blu-ray. That shouldn't be a problem with the fancy new Switch 2 game cards, right?
@SillyG Why on earth would the Bravely Default remake be a game key card?? It's a freaking 3DS game at its core - they could probably fit it on a switch 1 cartridge 😭
It's kinda cool in a way because it presumably allows you to gift or sell the game afterwards.
It sucks when it comes to physical game libraries and collectors though. What happens in 15 years when the Switch 2 servers are shut down? These key carts become worthless pieces of plastic.
This should be a pack in. Reminds me of a boring, manual version of Astro's Playroom on PS5. That also showed off all the new PS5 controller features, but it was a super cute platformer with stunning visuals and memorable music.
This is a virtual manual. This should be free. Especially if the goal is to get new players acquainted with the new features. What a weird decision.
I think it would be wild and super unlikely for a dedicated button in a prominent place on the main controller to be the "connect with your 8 year-old console" button.
I mean, Nintendo has made some outlandish choices in the past, but I'll be shocked if that's what the C button actually does. Maybe that's one of the possibilities and it's a more general purpose "connect" button like others have pointed out.
But using your old switch as a Wii U style gamepad is so niche and wouldn't end up being used for anything except to play the handful of Wii U games that didn't get a switch port already, and maybe to play DS/3DS virtual console. Both of those use cases are too niche for a dedicated button, and little to no developers are going to make games that utilize a feature if it requires consumers to own a completely different console.
Paranormasight is a really good visual novel. A bit shorter than I excited if anything, but it legitimately creeped me out in multiple places (in a good way) and has some really fun and unique gameplay mechanics.
I recently got a New 3DS XL from eBay, so I'm currently fully invested in that!
Pokemon Art Academy - great fun on an XL Phantom Hourglass 999 - playing for the first time and loving it Pokemon Black - I stopped playing this series after Diamond/Pearl, so this is my first time experiencing it. Great so far!
Pretty cool! Personally I'd love to see a 3DS port. I think the homebrew community there is a little more vibrant than the original DS, and might as well have a version that takes advantage of the increased resolution and processing power.
Overall though, Balatro is best on mobile imo. Feels so good to drag the cards around.
So excited for this! As someone who's played Monster Hunter since the PSP games, I'm super pumped to see something that looks new again. I'm hoping it takes more cues from World's focus on ecology and habitat - that was something that really drew me back into the series, and in my opinion, breathed fresh life into it after countless releases that were barely distinct from MHFU. I loved the mobility of Rise, but that game sacrificed a lot of the environmental world building that made World so special.
Odd to me that this wasn't announced for switch when the graphics don't look super improved compared to Rise (although I'm sure the number of monsters on screen at once is very resource intensive).

Hell yes! Excited for the free performance improvements for Links Awakening and EoW too since those both have framerate issues on og switch

Re: Mario Kart World's Switch 2 Box Art Is Packed With Delightful Details
Love the art!
However I'm not loving that massive red forehead at the top of the game case. Switch cases were so sleek.
I get needing to easily distinguish it from Switch 1 games, but the giant red banner is so ugly 😭

Persona 3 Reload is SO GOOD and I'm excited for it to come to the Switch 2.

Re: Persona Collection Now Available On Switch eShop, Contains P5R, P4G & P3P
Yeah these were just on sale, and I got all three for quite a bit less than the price of this bundle! I would wait for another sale probably.
