Re: Soapbox: Parallel Play Is The New Couch Co-Op, And Minecraft Is Perfect For It

@KateGray “I really wish that there were more co-op games that weren't about killing each other or other people.” Me too, co-op games are my favourite but why is everything about destruction, the end of the world or killing others.

I’d love to see some games about working together to make peace, to create something amazing or just solve puzzles like in Portal 2

Re: Book Review: Ask Iwata: Words of Wisdom from Satoru Iwata, Nintendo's Legendary CEO

There will be others like him. Human consciousness is shifting all the time.

The more out spoken we are of companies who care only about money and the more supportive we are of companies that care about people the better. Closest thing was Steve Jobs of Apple, he was one of a kind albeit not quite as friendly sounding as Iwata.

Still, I have faith in the human race to eventually care about each other as much as themselves and more than pillaging the earth and each other for money, but that will come more with each generation. So maybe we won’t see another Iwata for a generation or so, but there will be people who read this book and are inspired to be more like Iwata.

Re: Hitman 3 Gets A Seven-Part DLC, Exploring The Seven Deadly Sins

This world has a fascination with the dark side. When will we see games about the 7* Virtues.

Instead of games about killing, hit jobs, destruction, when will we see an abundance of games about spreading love, cleaning up the planet and bring into people together.

Really says a lot about where the collective mind is right now. I’m looking forward to games that bring a feel good factor rather than games that leave me shaking my head and asking why.

(Not saying other people can’t play games like this, everyone has the right to play what they are aligned to, just putting it out there that I would love First /3rd Person games with a positive vibe)

*there are more than 7

Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo Have A Refund Problem?

asmi8803

@JimmySpades Thank you for sharing your insight, but I don’t think what I’m asking is unreasonable. It’s normal to treat yourself and other people well and if it isn’t wouldn’t you like it to be?

That’s a projection of your story from your experiences, nothing to do with me. I agree with your last statement, but sometimes if the answer is unreasonable, you’ve got to challenge it.

Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo Have A Refund Problem?

asmi8803

@sanderev I tried talking to them but the game auto downloaded when I turned my switch on and that according to policy is that. Again, I noticed after buying that it was the eShop verision, yes it was my fault for missing this, but it's still not the point. Kindness, human decency, understanding etc. etc.

Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo Have A Refund Problem?

asmi8803

@sanderev "You buying the incorrect version is not Nintendo's fault. It's your fault." Kindness is free. If someone mistakenly ordered the wrong product and it literally did no harm to exchange it, why wouldn't you want a happy customer?

"Also going into the eShop to buy a physical game? Who does that." - I didn't go to eShop, it was through their European website, I thought I was on the UK one. The UK one in the past has always defaulted to physical, this one, eShop.

Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo Have A Refund Problem?

asmi8803

@sanderev doesn't matter if it's not the fault of the game, if he can't play it, do the right thing and refund. We're here to serve each other, not pinch and steal. If the game doesn't serve @Retron they shouldn't be able to receive a refund.

Seriously imagine we lived in a world where every body cared about each other.

Re: Talking Point: Does Nintendo Have A Refund Problem?

asmi8803

"One Nintendo Life reader on our forums wanted a refund in order to purchase a physical copy of Witcher 3 after their son bought it on eShop before realising it wouldn't fit on the installed micro SD card."

This just happened with me except with Mario 3D Allstars. I didn't realise it was the eShop version, tried to cancel but the game auto downloaded and then Nintendo refused to refund or exchange. There's literally no reason not, shows a real lack of love for their customers.

Re: Random: Super Mario 3D All-Stars' Cartridge Is Rubbing People Up The Wrong Way

asmi8803

@BenAV I ordered two copies on NintendoS website but needed to cancel one copy so I cancelled and reordered bit this time it took me to the European site and instead of physical copy it was automatically for the eshop which I didn’t notice until it started auto downloading. I know it’s in their policy, but it would be nice if there was Room for a bit of understanding on some matters of misunderstanding especially when I was taken to a different site and the this time the digital option was auto selected. Yes I could have double checked but there would be no harm in Nintendo being a decent human being. That’s my view anyway ✌️💚

Re: What Comes After Switch? Nintendo Discusses Plans For Future Game Consoles

asmi8803

I hope they keep the continuity like with the App Store and apps remaining even when you upgrade phones, I hope the same is true here, that the software we've downloaded or physical copies bought are still playable on the new machine.

I could also see them releasing a dock that improves performance to keep the longevity up, then a few years later release a Switch2 then a few years later a new dock that boosts performance etc etc.

Re: Splatoon 2 Version 5.2.0 Update Arrives On Switch Next Week

asmi8803

@JohnnyC what would it take for it to become a Rocket League Style thing where you rank up. Rocket League is pretty much the only game I play because of the learning curve this game has, the strategy, individual skill and co-operation. Would love Splatoon to have something like this. I played it when it first came out but couldn't get my brother into it so we still just play RL

Re: New Lawsuits Claim FIFA Is Built On "Illusionary And Addictive" Pay-To-Win Mechanics

asmi8803

@Savino addiction isn't a disease. It's neuroscience; the brain releases a chemical to reward you for a behaviour that brings joy, or excitement etc.

What EA are doing is manipulating the body's chemistry. Just as the food industry does by adding sugar to everything.

So yeah, it's not a disease, however, manipulation is wrong so I'd give some accountability to EA for their part and it's up to us to avoid companies that do things like this.

Re: The SNES PlayStation Was Going To Have A Super FX Chip Built-In

asmi8803

@NinChocolate yes, I hope this for all areas of life in general. Wouldn't it be wonderful if instead of competing we saw each other as brothers and sisters and helped each other.

Arsenal vs Spurs wouldn't be about hating each other but would be about wanting to push each other to be the best they can be and then congratulating the winner either way.

Re: Flipper Mechanic Is An Upcoming Switch Game Where You Fix And Test Classic Arcade Machines

asmi8803

I’m imaging this as an online multiplayer game where you can either compete to be the biggest earner, while machines breakdown and need repairing to get back online or you can work together with online randoms to create the most appealing machines in one place and drawing the biggest crowds. Would be interesting to see which route people take. Still want that permaculture sim though..
