Really though, lack of cross buy is now verging on ridicule and farce...

If there were issues with frame rate in 3D, then the game engine is really quite flawed, and inefficient. They should have worked on it more for X and Y, which at times felt rushed. I thought it was cheap for them not to have 3d for the majority of areas. But I suppose the people who the game is aimed at (under 10s) mostly have 2DSs, so they felt they could get away with it...

Everyone knows that if the reason polar bears live at the north pole because the viscous penguins scared them all away...

This is the peak of the glut! The excess of games hitting Kickstarter can be likened to the selling of offal as meat. We've had all of these loosely branded Indie titles hitting Kickstarter, onto Steam, onto the Humble Store, then onwards to consoles! Mark my words, the end of Indie gaming is over! We've had more games released on Steam in 2014 do far than in 2013 and 2012 put together! And they ALWAYS make their way this side of gaming. The end is nigh!!!

Link's Awakening (DX) is the purest expression of Zelda, balancing adventure, action and an odd sense of humour. It's not my absolute favourite (that goes to Wind Waker, before the redesign in terms of the 3d games or Minish Cap in terms of the 2d games) but it is the best. And always will be.

Although an emulator does require work, most of this is in the emulation program itself. Each game will require, at most, a few lines of code to tweak the program. Nintendo are restricting supply to justify cost, and if the code monkeys at Nintendo HQ put their minds to it, we could have the NES, SNES, N64 or more available in their entirety quite soon. Quite frankly, if it takes as much work as you imply per VC title, then I am beginning to doubt the programmers' ability!

Oh please! This is capitalism and if you don't like it then that's your problem! It's how the corporate world works, and your beloved Nintendo isn't above needless during! Look at their YouTube policy, for crying out loud! If you care so much, read about the patents, and law! Only then can you make a valid judgment.

It looks charming, I agree. It's not as if the company is claiming to be Nintendo like all the other myriad games on tablets... It looks like some real effort went into this! Why all the hate?

I know that there are problems in the United States. In fact i agree with almost every point you just made.

The US has the biggest economy in the world. Yet there is little social security, which has been cut by the successive governments, Democrat and Republican. For what? To increase the already vast 'defence' spending. Many Americans want it raised, even though it is larger than all of the 25 next highest spenders, most of which are its allies. Not nearly enough is spent on its citizens, whether to invest in public services and infrastructure, or to provide even a basic social security net.

Then we come to its grossly underpaid workforce. If the minimum wage had increased in real terms since its introduction, Americans would have a minimum wage of around $20 an hour after tax. Really. And at the same time, many of the companies that underpay them have huge tax rebates.

I should also mention America's awful healthcare system. Americans cite it as the most perfect system in the world. While it is true that the insured are never denied healthcare, this ignores the fact that only around 50% are even insured. It is built on financial incentives, so people are referred for care they don't need. It is the most expensive mediocre care in the western world, which is not accessible for the poorer end of the population. Emergency care is available, but there is little beyond that for many.

Small farmers, put out of business by the likes of Monsanto are not subsistence farmers. Many of them are poor, but not in the sense that some people in the third world are.
I would agree that America has some problems, but they certainly are not on the scale of the real third world, and I hardly think it unreasonable that the world's most powerful economy and military should be able to take care of its own citizens...

That deteriorated fast, I hope we can leave it at that...

I'll be blunt...
Lack of clean drinking water is a third world problem. Famine is a third world problem. Having to walk many kilometers to school every day barefoot is a third world problem. Subsistence farming is a third world problem. Land grabs are a third world problem.
...You have a first-world attitude. That reminds me of a poster by the charity Water Aid: "Water crisis? Oh, I thought you said Wine Crisis!".

You're all whining about how bad Phillips is. There are many worse companies. Take MacDonald's for example- grossly underpaid staff, violation of court orders in India over secretly adding beef flavouring (twice), and responsibility for the rapid destruction of rainforests in South America for beef ranching (not to mention being vastly unhealthy). You all go on about how ridiculous all this is. You're right, and obviously something like this will be overturned. Just calm down here!

I think it's an adapted version of c++, more in tune with java or c#, and without c++'s weird and annoying bits.
Nintendo is playing us for fools over vc's workload, as I have been saying for ages especially over vc's not so very competitive pricing

It's an emulator. That's it. If each one is a separate project, we'd have games with vastly different features. Instead, most vc games are very similar, and it really is just laziness and the restriction of supply to push up demand of these overpriced releases.

It's simple emulation. We know the 3ds runs ds games (emulating with the carts as the rom) and gba games. Why not snes, n64 or even gc games? And the wii u runs the lot. Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not? Why not?

Amiibo is a gimmick. An expensive gimmick, like most DLC. And it will sell. And Nintendo will laugh at me.

Ugh. Not everyone has 'nostalgia' for the basic gameplay and graphics of the very first Mario game. Why can't we have the choice of the SMB3 or Mario World style?

A remake of ET (Atari version), it was such an under-appreciated game! I would also like a vc release of Mario Party 1. And an English language version of Gorby's Pipeline Plan.

That thing about reusing concepts- I thought that that was what made ALBW a bit... stale. We should have had a new game! With new locations! Instead we had an incredibly easy and sadly familiar game. We should have had a whole new world

Doesn't this beg the question- Why is this not on 3ds?! Are Nintendo blind to the screeches, shouting and general ranting from everyone? For crying out loud! It's simple emulation, and there's no excuse for lack of cross platform availability!
