This is weird... It would be like releasing a GBA slot for a 3ds (which would of course be awesome!). I also noticed a strange smash bros logo on the GC controller in the picture- could there be a special edition coming? So random, Nintendo!
Skin packs suck. Mods are what Minecraft is about. My friend had the mod of mods which not only prettied up the game in general, but added over 600 new block types, all for engineering Minecraft conglomerates. Only for PC though (of course!) which is the most lacking thing about console minecraft- the total lack of modding support!
@ZachBeacon When it worked, NWC was actually quite fun. You did have to be within 8m of the access point, and it took forever to connect, like you said.
Bring back the old style of games! X&Y had a weird graphical style that resembled neither the previous games before it or the anime. We don't need 2D sprites, for crying out loud, but adopting an improved version of Pokemon Coliseum's style would be much more fitting. No doubt it would be an improvement on X&Y's inefficient, unsuitable and rushed game engine. Above all, 3D must be everywhere. It's built for the 3DS! It stinks of laziness not to design a major 3DS game to use even a simple 3D effect throughout. Although I suppose that the majority of users own a 2DS (both game and console are aimed at a young audience), so aren't complaining.
@mystman12 That was a great thing about HG/SS. They got rid of it for some strange reason. Your Pokémon follows you around, picks up items, has different moods, and when you use an HM, if the Pokémon using the HM is following you, there's a cute little animation! It's not been in the games since...
@Crimson_Ridley Unfortunately, you are right. To Nintendo's credit, however, the fans do have a constantly changing opinion, and are quite demanding...
This list is an example of cherry-picking the data. It's done by everyone - government, big pharma, supermarkets, etc etc. Don't be surprised, and don't believe it.
@Scon I think I sort of understand what you mean now, thanks. That makes me want a remake of Four Swords Adventures- it was such an under-appreciated game... THAT would entice people to buy a Wii U, too.
@Rafx I think it's a sequel in the sense that the Animal Crossing games are sequels to each other, there isn't really a story... It's just set a mysterious period of time later.
We know it's fake, the seller knows it's fake and the bidders probably do too, and just want to bid as high as possible. It's just like that NES cartridge - people bid just for the sake of it (although it wasn't fake in that case...).
@Chriiis Personally, I did like the surfing and exploration- especially the island areas, but i know that many people hated surfing (especially if you ran out of repels). I think they should also bring back the skateboard from Gold, Silver and Crystal, too! And more ship travel and islands far away from Hoenn that aren't events...
I hope they bring back the same events from emerald- the Mew event, the Deoxys event etc- and Navel Rock... They were great... Oh, and if they balance the Hoenn to have less surfing areas, they should bring back the Sevii islands as well as add more islands post- credits.
And I know this will never happen, but I'd like to be able to travel between regions freely- and go to Johto, Kanto and even Sinnoh, (by train, I'd assume). And the Sevii islands...
@Obito_Tennyson It's funny, I know! But it's really no different from the US officially using imperial measurement (inches, feet etc.) but many states still using kilometers on road signs... Although, in Britain we do the opposite! All countries are weird...
Pokémon isn't quite a yearly release yet... But no doubt it soon will be. And how long will it be before there are over 1000 Pokémon? One or two generations at least, I'm thinking about 5-7 years... I remember when there were 150
@DanteSolablood Ha! That's just Japan My point is, it's getting ridiculously difficult (and expensive) to complete the pokedex. While it's good to include Groudon and Kyogre, they are but two of 729 Pokémon to catch. I've never been to a Pokémon event, but I suppose it is just personal experience... On the subject of cheating, there is what I would call a higher form of cheating-unlocking the Pokémon events that have finished (or unreleased such as the Arceus event on platinum). I agree that cloning can be useful- Pokémon such as Eevee can be cloned if you're about to evolve it. It can be good for giving the better Pokémon to your friends.
@DanteSolablood What I really mean to say is that it is extremely difficult to catch them all in the current generation without the access to generation 3 cartridges (this solves it and HG/SS partially), two or more gen 4 carts (HG/SS and one of the Sinnoh games), a gen5 game, a 3ds and a ds with a gba slot. You also need an action replay device to activate the Pokémon events if you didn't go to a Pokémon event. So it is more than a little bit hard. By the internet I assume you mean gts or trading on forums- the people on gts offer unreasonable trades, and forums aren't usually much better...
Pokémon is fun, but the tournaments are just taking it a bit too far... People take it so seriously to the point of delusion with the actual point of the game- to take fun from battling, collecting and trading.
Don't go digital until there's a proper account system. I personally like physical media. I want better graphical quality and processor, as well as an easier way to develop games for the console and run the code. I would also like Nintendo to retain backwards compatibility - the GBA was awesome because it could play monochrome GB games and GBC games. Nintendo should keep compatibility with DS games. The eshop could be so much more- taking advantage of Nintendo's whole software handheld library as well as NES, SNES, N64, GCN and Wii games (although wii games would need the wii u, obviously). The eshop's pricing should be rethought- with deals if you buy a certain number of games, and VC and digital full price games are SO expensive, with games such as Pilotwings resort still £40!
I hope we get a 3DS player in the style of the Game Boy Player for Gamecube, and a 3ds hardware revision which improves its graphical quality and processor. Games could be designed for it, but would retain backwards compatibility with older machines, like the black Game Boy Color carts could be played on monochrome Gameboys
Maybe a GBA "decade after its death" model, releasing in 2015 for the princely sum of £25/$30? That would be great- maybe we'd see the return of wired multiplayer and cartridges - not game "cards"!
@jariw It's just speculation... I'm not saying that it will happen, just that it's likely. They may end up cutting the price in other ways, maybe by making the gamepad smaller?
@River3636 I would love that! It should be like the Super Game Boy or the game boy player for the GameCube. Some 3DS games could get patched to look better on the TV, as good as GameCube games too!
@River3636 I would love that! It should be like the Super Game Boy or the game boy player for the GameCube. Some 3DS games could get patched to look better on the TV, as good as GameCube games too!
In the unlikely event that this turns out to be true, I predict a reissue of the Wii U without a gamepad, or a super-tiny 3DS. It's unlikely that Nintendo would release a new home console, that would totally kill the Wii U brand, even though it's starring to pick up (slowly). Still, it's all speculation. Maybe they'll have their own android device?
@faint Europe actually gets much less than NA does, most games are released in the US months before the Europe, and many games are unreleased altogether. Do you think US club Nintendo is bad? At least the stars (or whatever "currency" you have on it there) can be used for actual things of worth, such as actual games... Games are consoles ARE cheaper- a wii u costs $285 dollars, whereas a uk wii u for example costs the equivalent of one third more. It's as if the only places that seem to exist for Nintendo are the US and Japan! Seriously, the US is spoiled for choice when it comes to Nintendo stuff!
@brewsky True about the laptops... An impressive piece of technology, the gamepad may be, but it's really just a gimmick, that's not really used by many high quality games
@brewsky No, it's still overpriced! The wii u has a 3 core processor- put it this way, £200 laptops usually have a quad- core processor. Along with 2gb ram- again, these same laptops often have 4gb ram. Now, I know that the specifications aren't everything, and that Nintendo have invested a lot of R&D resources into the development of the console. No doubt the games are good, too, but i was merely stating the fact that for what it is, the Wii U really is overpriced for what you get. We all know why it costs so much- that gamepad screen can't be cheap.
@Uberchu The beginner DVD was just a DVD that told people how to play the game. It wasn't anything special... Unless you are a collector or like games to be boxed and complete, there's no point tracking it down. It probably won't be included in the Nintendo selects range- Nintendo are keeping price down as much as possible here.
@Moorpheel It should have a PC counterpart to write code quickly, which would solve most of the original problems with it. Petit Computer is a great idea in itself, but I think it should really just be for running code written with a PC and quick edits. I'm really looking forward to it
@Moorpheel I suppose you're right... Despite what I said, I really like Petit Computer to play around on, it's just that there were some things that could be improved in the next one. I just got a bit carried away! It's just that they should make it easier to actually write code. Thanks
