@Kalmaro why? It's hardly ransom. It's common sense. Buying the game shows appetite for more. If nobody buys something, why would they waste time making a sequel? They all have bills to pay at the end of the day, and games don't make themselves.
Best way to have done this is for Platinum to have shipped them all together in one package to a distribution center somewhere in the UK who could have then shipped to individuals? Slower and more potential for items to go missing though.
@antdickens I agree with the @Tstar, I regularly have to re-read headlines, and sometimes even then, there is a lack of Clarity. How about using inverted commas around titles if games?
@smashboy2000 the UK Blu ray thankfully is animal cruelty free, and apparently directors preferred cut, but at the same time it doesn't change that the animals were harmed during the making of the film.
Fantastic film, but the same as you, the animal killings make it something I'm not comfortable watching.
"this critically-acclaimed title – considered by some as one of the greatest video games of all-time"
I'm not convinced of the above statement. I owned on release date, along with Dreamcast, and even back then reviews were raising the same complaints with 3D Sonic as they are now. The fact that it is probably the best of the 3D Sonic's doesn't mean much. I can't imagine anybody would consider it one of the greatest video-games of all time, especially since even the preceding 2D Sonic games for the megadrive were much better games.
@Heavyarms55 I don't know anyone who doesn't invert. So many that I don't understand why inverted isn't the default, since 'regular' aiming is actually inverted, considering the natural motion of tilting forward to look down, and back to look up.
@Doctor_Pancakes the character walks slower. Happened in PS4. You can press zr and they'll speed up again, but makes it more difficult to move around in the smaller spaces.
@NOOGA I also like his 'many reasons', also known as 'homophobia'. Pity any children he has in future, who aren't the 'ideal' specimen he hopes them to be.
@Deathwalka I'm sure you can't read this since you decided to block me, however, for the benefit of anyone who may moderate these comments, you stated 'So let people say what they want, as long as they aren’t hurting anyone else, their beliefs are there own. So pls keep your righteous indignation to yourselves'. Yet despite saying this, your first comment skirted along the lines of being homophobic, yet I gave the benefit of the doubt, and an opportunity to consider how your use of language might hurt others. Your reply to me pretty much crossed from ignorance, which is barely an excuse, to outright intolerance. And in response to the question that you have no intention of hearing the answer to, yes, I do have a problem that you feel the need to say out loud in a public forum, that my existence, along with the existence of millions of others out there, some of whom may be subject to oppression and regular abuse, do not fit with your ideals; despite the fact that our existence has no impact has nothing to do with how you live your life.
Nobody is coming at you with 'a pride coloured pitchfork'. They are advising you on the impact of the things that you say on the feelings of other people.
@Deathwalka 'you need to realise many of us accept there are gay people and happily talk to them and even have them as friends because at the end of the day we are all human, but it’s not a way of life I see as ideal'
How very kind of you ... As a gay man, I'd be surprised you do have any gay friends by the way that you speak of them as they are a lower tier of human that you have so kindly decided to tolerate. Maybe that is not what you intended to express by the above, but reading it, it sounds anything but tolerant. Essentially you are saying, 'I'd prefer their weren't gay men, but because I have not choice due to the nature of their existence, I'll begrudgingly tolerate them'.
@EmirParkreiner this is also how I read it. They, as a platform holder, will not restrict permissable content from appearing on the platform, but that doesn't neccessarily mean they won't make changes to first party games during localisation. Really, they are just stating what they have done for a long time.
@Majora101 @nintendoknife I spent the whole article distracted by that exact line. I was thinking the whole time 'was there a point in time that I missed in which it became assumed knowledge that BOTW's art style is thought of as divisisive?'. I then started to think 'doesn't this statement actually apply to every art style ever?'. Surely the assumed knowledge is that the artistic direction of any game could not possibly to everyones's taste, so it's not even worth noting.
@Sandro89 the wording of Apple Arcade was slightly misleading. It said you won't find on any other mobile platforms or subscription services. Which doesn't include PC and Consoles. Other games shown on apple Arcade are planned for other platforms.
@rjejr @saintayu agree with saintayu here. FFX-2 is a very good game. It's no more a dress up Barbie than FF3, FFV, Bravely Default, or Lightning Returns. In fact, the 'dressphere' job system, and the battle system itself have a decent amount of depth to them.
@Silly_G I've been using since release, really good workout, lost a decent amount of weight (I'm not huge either, about a stone and a half over, and I've lost just under a stone). I would never have down with this with Just Dance, as I can't dance, and hate dancing. Yes, there is less content than wiifit, but I also felt wiifit lacked focus, and was very stop start, whereas 40 minutes of this once everything is unlocked, gives a fairly intense workout.
I agree in theory that the price seems high, but in reality, it does it's job really well, at the cost of 1-2 months gym membership.
@gcunit in the full game you can skip all of the explanations, whenever there is a new action in a track, you can choose to listen or skip it.
Music being intrumental does seem like a negative, though once playing it makes sense, as it really is just there to play in background to keep rhythm (some tracks I've played are 9-10 minutes long, which would mean looping tracks if they used originals).
I agree 39.99 is maybe a little pricey, but a comparison to fitness classes or a gym membership and it makes sense. Though for the developers sake I wish they'd priced it at 29.99 to avoid some of the price criticism.
Some variety (i.e. arcade style minigames) would have been fun, but again, that would be like going to a fitness boxing class and complaining they don't have a punching machine etc.
The cardboard box analogy is redundant. It's comparing apples to oranges. And to be honest, all games are too expensive and criticised for lack of variety if you chose to. Platformers you just jump and collect, racing games you just drive around a track, fighting games you just hit each other etc.
@gcunit fair enough. But still, no reason why this shouldn't be an 8/10. It does what it sets out to do very well. There is nothing eyebrow raising about it.
@gcunit you maybe should give it a go first. It's actually very good at what it sets out to do. I've done 2 forty minute workouts per day for the past 4 days, and I'm actually aching all over.
For those unsure, try the demo, then make judgement. The full game gets suprisingly intense in the workouts.
@Spectra the game just wouldn't work at all with traditional controls. I agree that they really should've mapped movement to a control stick, but the majority of pins would not work with a traditional control method, and it's not really a case of mapping to face buttons. To be fair, I've been playing this the past couple of days, and am enjoying it just as much as the DS game.
For those complaining about the new(ish) battle system, I loved the DS version, but the system certainly wasn't as perfect as people make out, and had plenty of frustrations, even after you had played for tens of hours. I don't find either games system perfect, in some instances I prefer the DS, in some I prefer the switch.
The make issue with this versiom is the price, £24.99 work would have been much more reasonable.
@MeloMan @thesilverbrick it's actually fairly short for an RPG. If you are just running straight through original campaign, 15-20 hours. Obviously end game and grinding add to that, but is suppose that's one of the joys of this game in that it's flexible depending on what you want from it.
I had a love hTe relationship with this game. It's certainly unique, and figuring out how to wrap the snake around obstacles is a tense and rewarding experience (although it really triggers my vertigo). The main problem is the checkpointing, which started to replace the fun with frustation the firther I got into the game. A more lenient, aautocheckpoint
@Raylax yeah, this definitely needs a mention, particularly on the vouchers page. Burning through 500 gold points for a £5 discount, to find that it then doesn't even cover the cost of postage.
@TechEagle no, it should, if done right, give greater meaning to moments in the prequel.
@ArcanaXVI is right, prequels should always be played after the original, the word prequel literally tells you this. Preceding game and prequel are not the same thing. A prequel is a follow up set before the previous film/game.
@rjejr play Xenoblade 2 first, when they say you don't need to play Xenoblade 2, that's just marketing to draw in people who maybe don't want to invest in previous game. If you don't intend to play 2, go ahead, but if you do, you are going yo have moments spoiled, in a 100 hr game. I'd rather have the shorter prequel "spoiled" than the main game.
@retro_player_22 I'm really excited for this, and hopefully it is a remaster of the Saturn and not ps1 version. My only issue is that we haven't really seen any remasters similar to this (2D sprites in 3D environment), so Indo wonder how the remaster will look. I'd like a little bit more info on the technical aspects of this, as I'd hate to see an FF6 and Chrono Trigger mess made of it.
@Cobalt I'd say definitely wrong on this issue. Yo me, part of the benefit of the switch is that it brings Nintendo's home console and handheld console under one umbrella. I'm hoping that once the 3ds is phased out, there isn't a successor as such, meaning one less console to buy and buy games for.
The successor to the 3DS/New 3DS is likely to be a switch mini, which plays all switch games, but does not provide a docked mode.
The Wii U failed because people couldn't work out whether it was an expansion or new console, and Nintendo creating an expansion to the switch that mimics Wii U functionality isn't going to be a success. In fact, ut will fragment the market back into Home Console / Handheld, which the switch has got out of. Personally, there is no point in the expansion , as if I want the third party games, I could just buy the PlayStation to play the games I can't get / would prefer on console.
@NIN10DOXD you don't have to ourltright say it to cause that pressure. Someone could quite easily be led to self harm or worse due to the overwhelming public pressures. It's bad enough him losing his job, and his career in journalism (deservedly) being finished. It isn't okay to harrass (hundreds of copied and pasted Twitter and YouTube comments, websites linking to articles he has copied etc, constant YouTube videos picking apart everything he's said and done, and even worse, his employer and colleagues quite unprofessionally calling him out on twitter, rather than respectfully stating that the issue is been dealt with - it's like if you lost your job, and your employer went on Twitter to shout about it and call you names). Yes, his apology wasn't great, but all people have to do is ignore it, and it they don't like it, unsubscribe.
@NIN10DOXD it's about taking the higher ground. Particularly on the internet. Literally thousands of people harrasing one person, that has done something that has very little impact on them is horrific behaviour. We should behave on the internet how we would behave in real life.
To put it in perspective, if this had happened in a national newspaper, and there was no internet, would you think it okay to send hatemail, shout at him in the street, or travel with your pitchforks to the front door to give him the ridicule he so deserves?
Just finished main story on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (bought at launch, then waited for patches to fix map, then life took over). Started a new game couple of weeks ago, sunk 120 hours, and need 3 rare blades and finish up some side stories and affinity charts.
@Not_Soos unfortunately we live in a world where the iternet mob rules, and can hide behind screens and forget about feelings.
What I find stranger still is that what Filip has done has been going on for so long, and really, this isn't an isolated issue. I read a lot of film and game reviews, and there have been so many times where I've gone between review just to see if it's the same Author, as the structure and style of the review have been so similar, that it was practically a cut and paste job. Filip certainly isn't the first, just the first to be caught out like this (not suggesting I have seen this on here, but have definitely seen this on other websites in the past).
@Not_Soos I'm glad to see one of the few people to say something like this. I understand people aren't happy about the plagarism, however, in the scale of things it isn't worth the harrassment directed at him, and it's quite a sad story overall. His career is literally in pieces, and people seem to forget the person (he has a wife and child I believe) so it must be awful for them to see the abuse he is receiving. Off topic I suppose, but good to see not everyone has adopted the mob mentality.
For all of those wanting yakuza on switch, yes it would be a perfect fit, but the problem is, Yakuza 6 is down to 30fps on PS4, so it would be unlikely to run on switch, so you would end up with an incomplete collection. You'd end up with 0-5 and then either no 6, or a severely gimped port.
@retro_player_22 DF aren't picky, the whole point of it is to examine the technical aspects of games. They aren't reviewers, so if they missed out on pointing out anything wring with the game technically, they wouldn't be doing their job. Their videos are more for those if us interested in the technical side of things, and they do that well. The amount if releases okami has had iver the generations makes it perfect for their technical comparisons.
As he points out in the video, the frame packing issue isn't noticable during play, and he's even suprised himself, however, the technical data does show it happening, so it needs to be mentioned.
@roboshort I'm sure they patched and changed the description of the diffculties, so hard mode was aimed at rpg veterans, likely due to feedback it was too easy. Made it a much better game.
@roboshort I thought the hard mode difficulty was just about right for people familiar with JRPGs. The difficulty on normal was good for introducing people to JRPG mechanics.
@imgrowinglegs you aren't wrong at all. When I first played picross DS, I default went for touch controls, as that seemed to make the most sense, but once I tried buttn controls, I never went back. Buttons are much more precise, and make counting boxes much easier. Also, button controls are more comfortable. For those complaining re: the button controls, give them ago, and you may realise you've been playing wrong all along.
@Steel76 @cosats @whalehome and anyone else reading this, please don't donwload the PETA game, or promote PETA until you have read into their abhorrent practices into euthanizing animals for no reason, exceot they don't believe that animals should be domesticated. There are some interesting / shocking articles about them encouraging people's pets off their property so they can take and euthanize them.
As some above have suggested, the likes of PS4 are pretty much already 100% digital. I've stopped buying Physical for PS4 for this reason, as I quickly came to realise that the Blu Ray disc is pretty much a glorified DLC card. Enter the disc, download the full game to system, and then have the inconvenience of swapping in and out the discs to access what is essentially a digital download.
I do love Collectors editions etc, but behind the initial wow moment of opening and having a look through the content, it's rare that I do anything with it other that display on a shelf. In reality, it would be better to just buy the merchandise that I like separately, rather than be overcharged for it as part of a collectors edition.
@Alto there are 26 years worth of reviews out there. A move to the switch is in no way going to make this bad game good. I must admit though, it's a guilty pleasure of mine, but that's due to nostalgia.
Very strange review this. Why the comment about it 'feeling out of place' on a Nintendo system? Is this a negative? For me it doesn't feel out of place at all, it's a quirky, fun adventure that is no more out of place than games such as Thimbleweed Park, Doom, Rive etc? Are we only allowed family friendly games on the switch now.
Also 'What’s most impressive about the port of Stick It To The Man is how well it runs on the Switch.' is a very strange thing to say. If the most impressive thing about it is that a brand new console can run a game that was running 4 years ago on the Vita, then I would be worried about the rest of the game. Thankfully, I've played before, and know how great it is, so will play again on Vita. I know reviews are subjective, but there is nothing in the review to suggest anything less than an 8, maybe even a 9.
No music please. I can’t understand why people want this in the eshop. It used to drive me up the wall on Wii U. It is always very Nintendo and nice, but after about a minute I start to get irritated with it and mute the TV. I suppose if people enjoy it, there’s no harm in it being there, I’ll just have to mute the switch when browsing. 🙉.
I much prefer the simplicity and cleanness of the switch eshop. Would just prefer a few more tabs, and genres to browse to make it easier to find what you are looking for.

Re: Treat Yourself To The Dead Cells Signature Edition With A Second Chance To Pre-Order
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 18th)
Just finished main story on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (bought at launch, then waited for patches to fix map, then life took over). Started a new game couple of weeks ago, sunk 120 hours, and need 3 rare blades and finish up some side stories and affinity charts.
Re: Treat Yourself To The Dead Cells Signature Edition With A Second Chance To Pre-Order
Re: Treat Yourself To The Dead Cells Signature Edition With A Second Chance To Pre-Order
Re: Nintendo Didn’t Want Yakuza Series, According To Sega’s Toshihiro Nagoshi
For all of those wanting yakuza on switch, yes it would be a perfect fit, but the problem is, Yakuza 6 is down to 30fps on PS4, so it would be unlikely to run on switch, so you would end up with an incomplete collection. You'd end up with 0-5 and then either no 6, or a severely gimped port.
Re: Video: Digital Foundry Compares Okami On Switch To Past Versions
@retro_player_22 DF aren't picky, the whole point of it is to examine the technical aspects of games. They aren't reviewers, so if they missed out on pointing out anything wring with the game technically, they wouldn't be doing their job. Their videos are more for those if us interested in the technical side of things, and they do that well. The amount if releases okami has had iver the generations makes it perfect for their technical comparisons.
As he points out in the video, the frame packing issue isn't noticable during play, and he's even suprised himself, however, the technical data does show it happening, so it needs to be mentioned.
Re: Ubisoft Is Releasing Two Hand-Drawn Adventures On Switch Later This Year
@roboshort I'm sure they patched and changed the description of the diffculties, so hard mode was aimed at rpg veterans, likely due to feedback it was too easy. Made it a much better game.
Re: Ubisoft Is Releasing Two Hand-Drawn Adventures On Switch Later This Year
@roboshort I thought the hard mode difficulty was just about right for people familiar with JRPGs. The difficulty on normal was good for introducing people to JRPG mechanics.
Re: Scary Retro RPG World Of Horror Is Set To Crawl Onto Switch Next Year
@Pod I haven't watched video jet, but got definite Junji Ito vibes from the description. Sounds very similar to Uzumaki to me, which is a good thing.
Re: Scary Retro RPG World Of Horror Is Set To Crawl Onto Switch Next Year
@SDF_Macross77 I think it's more like a tabletop rog than JRPG by the sounds of it with the card based gameplay etc.
Re: Picross S2 Arrives On Switch Next Week Bringing A Brand New Mode To The Series
Re: GALAK-Z: Variant S Ditches Its $9.99 Price Tag And Launches On Switch For Free
Re: US Research Analyst Believes Gaming Could Become 100% Digital By 2022
As some above have suggested, the likes of PS4 are pretty much already 100% digital.
Re: Night Trap, The Infamous Mega CD Classic Is Switch Bound
@Alto there are 26 years worth of reviews out there. A move to the switch is in no way going to make this bad game good. I must admit though, it's a guilty pleasure of mine, but that's due to nostalgia.
Re: Review: Stick It to The Man (Switch eShop)
Re: The Switch eShop Now Lets You Search for Game Demos
No music please. I can’t understand why people want this in the eshop. It used to drive me up the wall on Wii U. It is always very Nintendo and nice, but after about a minute I start to get irritated with it and mute the TV. I suppose if people enjoy it, there’s no harm in it being there, I’ll just have to mute the switch when browsing. 🙉.
I much prefer the simplicity and cleanness of the switch eshop. Would just prefer a few more tabs, and genres to browse to make it easier to find what you are looking for.
