Re: Excitebots Crashes Out At Retail

Wesker

I don't think Wii owners are stupid. The typical wii owner owns: Wii Sports, Mario Kart, Wii Fit, Super Mario Galaxy and Zelda Twillight Princess. These are some of the greatest and most innovative video games ever made.

When all is said and done Excitebots is basically a bit gay... But its still better than any motostorm game

Re: Excitebots Crashes Out At Retail

Wesker

To be honest the name Excitebots sounds a bit crap and it does look quite generic. Also a lot of the reviews stated that much of the tracks were simply ripped from Excitetruck. So why buy the game if it seems that it is just a jazzed up excite truck? Thats how i feel about it anyway.
Excitetruck was lots of fun for a few sessions but lacked longevity and I get the impression it would be the same for Excitebots.

I do want another racer for my Wii other than my much beloved Mario Kart, but what i I really want is a more serious racing sim, not Excitebots. That is how Nintendo would get top dollar out of me, a racing sim to complement my excellant kart game.

EDIT: A new F - Zero would be nice too

I also don't get My Aquarium either, but I kind of want to burn 500 points on it just to find out what the big attraction is. I was also checking out the vgchartz website, which lists the sales figures for wiiware and found out that dr. Mario was the biggest money maker, so I'm not suprised that it continues to enjoy success.

Re: Happy Birthday WiiWare Service

Wesker

I do slightly miss the focus on the Virtual Console and Wiiware on their own distinct sites as sometimes I like to get hyped about one or the other and ignore everything else. But other than that NintendoLife is perfect for me and I particulary appreciate the clean cut design that you carried over from before. Happy Birthday WiiWare World and long live NintendoLife

Re: Zelda: Spirit Tracks To Appeal To a Wider Age Group?

Wesker

Yes, difficulty is subjective and depends on how much you like the game. For example my girlfriend can finish Dr Mario on the hardest settings (till level 20), where as I can't and really I can't be bothered too. Whereas it was a breeze for me to collect 120 on Mario Glaxay and she struggles to collect 5. It really depends on how the game motivates you.

Phantom Hourglass didn't motivate me to play until too completion even though I new it wouldn't have to been to difficult to manage it, which is wh I'm not holding out much hope for Spirit Tracks.

@i8cookie. One of the mods changed my username. I don't get it either, I'm always whinging on this site, maybe it is meant to be ironic

Regarding 'Zelda', That word doesn't gaurantee quality to me anymore. Although I would love to see a new NON-TOON game I think they should leave the franchise alone for a while and as I say - concentrate on something fresh.

Re: Review: Adventure Island: The Beginning (WiiWare)

Wesker

Sorry I think i was smoking something when i wrote my last comment. It's a good game, try not to be put off by the presentation. The gameplay is fun and thats the main thing. Also I doubt most gamers would find it as easy as the reviewer did so i would ignore that part of the review if i were you.

This game is wicked awesome, it really cheered me up cos the weather where i am is awful. Sir Francis has major skills on this game, if you want proof check out the leaderboards, what a geek;-). Thats why he only gave it 7/10 ha ha

Re: Review: Adventure Island: The Beginning (WiiWare)

Great Review! I think for 1000 points it sounds like a really solid game. I'm sure I'll get some good value out of it and I would love to see more platformers on WiiWare so I'm gonna support this. Wiiware shouldn't just be for wacky new ideas, I'm glad Hudson are bringing us more traditional games like this for the service.

Re: StarFox Developer Not Interested in Wii Sequel

Wesker

What I don't understand is why Starfox was given a complete makeover for Starfox Adventures and then totally forgotten about afterwards, like it never existed. I mean I thought that staff kicked ass so why couldn't he keep it? In Super Smash Bros. Brawl he has some almost defective laser gun that hardly does anything. I think his character has been messed up.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)

Wesker

I agree that Phantom Hourglass was a major dissapointment and I was really gutted when they announced Spirit Tracks! I was hoping that the Zelda team were working on a sequel to Twillight Princess not more toon Link. To be honest, I really don't see why people like the toon style...

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (N64)

Wesker

I don't think Ocarina or Majoras Mask are the pinnacle of the series, in my eyes Twilight Princess is the pinnacle of the Zelda series and the greatest game ever made, even though Ocarina was more revolutionary for it's time.

I skipped Majoras Mask first time round cos I couldn't get used to the time constraints. For me Zelda is all about living and breathing the experience; allowing yourself the space and time to stop to smell the flowers.

Having said that, based on this review I might give it another try, maybe I was to quick to judge before.

Re: Welcome to the New Look Nintendo Life!

Wesker

Ok, because I imagined that final scores would be run past the 'lords that be' before being posted. That would rule out the possibility of us fans being misled by extreme opinions and so on.

Also is there a way of checking latest comments for all games? Because I really liked this tool on WWW and VCR
