Neat special edition. Too bad I live in the US. I'll take this as a sign that the new models should be in Europe in a couple months.

Can't wait for S.T.E.A.M. also I think we will get a globally oriented exclusive game for New 3DS this fall.

Hmm could be good could be bad. Sony Pictures is hit-and-miss. Though I'm sure Nintendo is going to be watching them like a hawk.

Will be getting for Xmas. I'm going to assume that when amiibo support arrives they'll be used to put in character themed costumes like MK8.

@AVahne plus it has more features and such. Though admittingly, with the problems PSN has been having lately that PS plus money isn't being used effectively.

Good to see this. Hopefully this is prep for Christmas so what happened last year doesn't occur again. NN is pretty decent for free, but not on par with PSN and XBL. (But they're paid services.)

I'll probably pick this up. Been wanting more Kirby. Seems like a good choice for a kickoff game for Wii U's 2015.

I'm gonna get some heat for this but...honestly, I think it's time fore speedy blue hedgehog to hang up his red shoes and retire. This game looks like a mess, the majority of his games in the last decade and more have been bashed, sales aren't high. The Genesis era was his prime and he's well past it. Sonic games can't make anyone besides dumb kids happy anymore. Not trying to be a hater or pessimist, I just don't think Sonic has a place anymore.

Hopefully a new first party game gets announced for the 3DS.

Okay Nintendo...these game-specific directs are cool and all, but can we have a full-scale global one soon? these smaller ones are getting kind of old.

No wonder there hasn't been portable SSB until 3DS. it would've been so limited on past handhelds.

3ds hardware sales didn't go up much. Either the Japan customers are waiting for the New models or seems most of them who wanted the game already had the system.

A demo would be nice. Maybe from now on every big Nintendo release is going to get its own dedicated Nintendo Direct?

The new models have renewed my 3DS interest. Nice stopgap until the true 3DS successor most likely hits store shelves in 2017.

NA won't be getting the models this year. :/

I'm willing to bet that DQ XI(dragon quest) is going to be on 3ds and require these models ..

I think as someone else said this games will only work on the new models coming out.

Sakurai is probably pretty ticked right now. I doubt Nintendo would've taken those down if there wasn't at least some truth to them.

How is this a betrayal? Nintendo didn't revive RE. And honestly after all capcom has done for Nintendo since the NES days, Capcom doesn't owe Nintendo a blessed thing.

I doubt this will come to Wii U. Why would it get a new RE game when it isn't getting a port of a game that was on the last two Nintendo home consoles?

I'm fine with whatever, but a new IP would be great. I want to see what they can do without the inherent restrictions of working on an established IP.

I want:
-Super Mario Sunshine
-The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
-Pikmin 1+2
-Kid Icarus: Uprising

I know I know. I'm not mad just miffed. Nintendo can get (at least timed) exclusives like MH4 and originally RE: R but can't get a remaster of a game that's been available on their previous three consoles?

Shame. I'll probably get it on PS4 but still. Nintendo why are you letting this happen? You can't give capcom a quick call?

Like I'll be honest...I traded in my 3DS at GameStop for a deal towards getting a PS4. I felt like I've played what I've wanted to play on it honestly.

All I'm saying is I don't think Nintendo can wait until 2017 or 2018. As awesome as a Metroid 3DS would be, I doubt it'd be a big system seller.

Well thing is just about every Nintendo handheld first-party system seller has released now. There isn't too much left that Nintendo can release that would move 3DS systems in droves. I doubt the successor will release next year, but with sales dropping right now, and if they continue, an E3 2015 reveal with a 2016 release is looking very real.

Nice to see Wii U getting better. However it seems 3DS demand is waning.

Glad to hear. We all know he has screwed up royally with the Wii U, but let the guy learn from his mistakes so he can improve. Iwata isn't perfect but he could be worse.

The near 65k might seem a little low but remember mk8 came out at the end of May I expect around 150K in June. For Wii u console sales I mean.
