Re: Monolith Soft's X Combat is Shown Off, Based on Xenoblade Chronicles System

Traxx

The MMO-like combat-gameplay in a single-player game made XBC so refreshing as ironic as this might be. Reasons: There was the full aggro management; you could play any specific role and form your team according to it. Boring always playing Shulk? Go full healer with Sharla, its not that boring as it sounds, especially in the long run of the game when trying out all characters and testing all team combinations. At higher levels e.g. Reyn becomes such an impenetrable tank, there is no more need for massive healing, so less healing skills are sufficient, freeing up space for more damage, be it Sharla using more damage skills or swapping her out completely. You really could make this game your very own game. That's what I liked about it.

The real things I didn't like about XBC where the MMO-like quests.

Re: We Cannot Continue Without Winning, But It's Not As Simple As Moving Mario To Smartphones, Insists Iwata

To the people telling F-Zero, Metroid etc sold too poorly to be considered system sellers or something like that. True that, but you need to develop a perception Nintendo has more to offer than cutsey graphics and same-old Mario. And if Nintendo is abandoning every franchise not doing 1 or 3M: have fun with all the reiterations of Zelda and Mario. This Hyrule warrior game is the first sign of demise: this should have been a new IP with awesome visuals, bumb mapping, dynamic lighting everywhere and big fat broadswords covered in blood (I'm exagerating), instead it's an ugly zelda spin off. Enough of this cheap game development, what's Nintendo actually doing?

Re: Review: Super Mario 3D World (Wii U)

Traxx

No review can convince me keeping my Wii U and buying SM3DW. Plattformers just aren't my cup of tea anymore. Same goes for Zelda if it does not change to being a more adult game. That's why buying the Wii U was a mistake I can only blame myself for: even if Nintendo pulls out the best of the best (like they seem to have achieved here) it does not resonante within me anymore. I'm afraid many other gamers feel the same.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag (Wii U)

ACIII's problem were constantly low frame rate - not just hiccups. It was very close to constant 24 fps and if it drops from there its slower than it needs to be to simulate movement to an human eye. Totally destroys the idea of the game being a super nimble assassin since frame rate has influence on controls as well - you just don't "feel" the game cause of the frame rate.

Re: Inafune: Japanese Developers Are "Too Proud" And "Don't Know What To Do"

Traxx

I never saw any problems with japanese games. Things went wrong when Capcom tried to do a western game (resi 6). All its flaws felt like only a western company would come up with.

In my books, most of the western developers still have to learn how to make well crafted games. I still cannot believe how anyone can think Assassins creed features fine gameplay...

Re: Nintendo of France: Games Will Improve Wii U Sales, Not A Price Cut

Traxx

Nintendos first party game output is abysmal. They need to reorganize, seriously and outsource more of their projects. Seems even a lazy "new" NSMB is too much for them. And dont get me start on pikmin game decade in the planing/making? If this stays like this we will never see a new f-zero, wave race, star fox, and especially no new IP.

Re: Nicalis Would Like To Bring Monaco or Spelunky To A Nintendo Console

Traxx

The point is, that fish guy bashing on my beloved MH3U and I'm having a blast with the game even on my 3ds small screen without any circle pad pro attachments whatsoever... He's just a full MH noob and now whines about it. Thats why he is a douche, simple as that.

On a other note: I never have heard of games like fez, monaco or what ever bullcrap iOS shovelware. Why are those games even a topic? Why should I be worried not being able to play them on a nintendo system? Why? Life goes on.

Am I the only one that thinks the host's performances are mindblowin laughable? Ist hard to understand them, there is no real humour although they tryin hard. Are they trying to evoke the Steve Jobs factor? I'm sorry but broken english and timid performances are not always charming.

Just gimme a Nintendo channel and let me choose which News i want to see.

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed III (Wii U)

I got it for Wii U and my very own opinion about this game is: pure crap. It is my first AC for that matter. Do not see why so many are in love with this franchise. Really, really bad controls, low fps, bad game design (you are punished if you choose to fight outside of a certain area - problem is: no real hints where this area starts and ends), stupid menu over menu, bad Equipment/skill Management. Playing games like ACIII I feel western Studios still do not have a clear idea how to make a polished videogame.

Re: Wii U Struggles to Make an Impact in the UK Software Charts

Traxx

I bought it at day one release and I wish I didn't. But whatever, Monster Hunter on the way. Until then it seems this console is already dead. Ports that look worse and run slower (I know what I'm speaking of, got Ps3 here), no great exclusives, crappy controller. Hardly any useful concept for implemeting dual Screen as of now.

There is really no reason to buy this thing yet especially if you got a ps3 or xbox. Personally speaking, it felt very underwhelming buying a console at the end of 2012 and still be served ugly looking visuals. I'm not a graphic whore, but it's about time games look polished... For looking at jaggies and mud again I do not need a new console.

Re: Rumour: Wii U European Launch Could be Delayed

Traxx

Hope it gets delayed to next year - noone will care any more (noone does atm anyway) and the Wii U chapter is closed for all I care, at least in Europe.

Europe shafting has to end: Although we have to dish out much more money value to buy videogames (transfering $ to € with no adaptions - what a joke) and still pay more just comparing numbers, have delayed releases and don't even get frigging chargers. Nintendo is dead to me, they are acting like doomed anyway...

Re: Bigger Nintendo 3DS Console Revealed

Traxx

So crazy Europe not getting the AC adapter. It's not like we are already paying much more compared to US and JAP gamers for games and consoles...

And did anyone actually see the Nintendo Direct? Never have seen such a stupid, poor performed show/announcement ever. It was literally emberassing.

Re: Wii U Power Lacks a 'Generational Leap'

Traxx

No full 1020p support? No AntiAliasing? What kind of "bit better than current gen" console is that? I'm sick of graphics looking jaggy and muddy. Has nothing to do with being focused on visuals, I don't need amass of polys or bumbed map textures with perfect shader, I just don't want to see graphical distortions for one more generation, serious people. PC is looking better and better...

Re: Reaction: Your Opinions on Nintendo's E3 Conference

Traxx

I feel this presenation was hardly any different compared to last year. If this were the first showing of the Wii U, all power to Nintendo, but one year has past and nearly nothing new of significance? Really? And they wasted too much time stressing they have not enough time to show all their non-existent hardcore and 3DS games.

Re: Aonuma: "Future Zelda Games Will Use Motion Controls"

Traxx

Motion Controls, no matter how advanced, can never match the comfort of constantly being able to rest your lower arms on your thighs while playing... After being able to play games in this position for well above 2 hours I cannot imagine going back to SS with kind of motion controls.

If they want to keep the motion controls, they shold get rid of the fake 1:1 controls. SS had fake 1:1 sword controls since no matter how you fine-tuned the position of the sword ahead of the slash, you would always slash in the same manner. The 1:1 positioning just made adjusting to the right direction a pain.

Re: Review: Tales of the Abyss (3DS)

Traxx

Don't know how to rate this game.
It's typical Tales of... battle system with some more advanced features here and there, but chances are you won't care much for the deeper mechanics and just brawl/button mash, what will make this game very boring. On the other isde, the game fails to explain the more advanced mechanics appropriatly.

The voice acting is decent and it's mainly simple english to help the non-native speakers, but it's hard to get your head around the plot and world explanations and how things work together. Fontech fonbelt, sephiroths, planet storms, it's just annoying and I reached the point I don't really care what I'm doing for what reason. To make things worse, I'm right now at a point where I have to run from one point to another just to trigger a story element I don't really understand.

Definetly, this game is not for everyone. But I will keep it, since it's already hard to buy it in Europe. Some significant stores even never had the chance to sell it, cause they didn't receive any copies.
