Re: Talking Point: The Future of Metroid

It would be cool to have it 2D gameplay for normal operation exept have the 3D boss fights like in Other M (so like take the best parts of the gameplay in Super/Fusion/Zero and Other M). And of course I would be remiss without saying KRAID.............. and a post Fusion or pre Metroid 1 story.

I want to see the next story in the timeline (as in what happens after fusion) the last 4 have been side stories between existing entries and it feels like the metroid story isn't going forward. I dont want the metroid series to turn into the zelda series in terms of having to try and figure out where the latest entry fits chronologically. I want them to go foward.

EDIT: I also wouldn't mind the next entry building on her history with the chozo and the massacre (for those of us who havent read the manga) I loved how Other M gave us more of her history and I would love for more of that.

EDIT2: As for the ship at the end of corruption. There is definitely a story to be told after the prime series, but it probably will not be called anything to do with metroid prime 4. The charactor of metroid prime is dead. Maybe it is Dread.

Oh yeah, I want the next one to have a 3D KRAID boss fight. I am getting sick of Ridley showing up over and over again. He is a cool charactor and all but come on. Why would the space pirates spend all of their energy fixing Ridley over and over again and not Kraid? He has to get resurrected for Super Metroid, so why didn't the space pirates do it during the prime trilogy. Maybe that is for the aforementioned post prime story, or something between II and Super. Also why do the research labs in Other M and Fusion clone Ridley and not Kraid? Maybe Kraid is more difficult to control, who knows. Ridley is in all but 2 main games, Kraid is only in 3 (and one is a remake). Poor Kraid, Kraid is sad

loved this, the box was all shiny and silver. I was stuck on the spider ball guardian for sooooooo long, I hated that boss, it caused me to give up playing it for a couple of months. Found the final boss to be easier than prime 1 (mainly because I am colour blind so the first form of metroid prime was quite hard for me). The new play control versions' bosses are so much easier and I had no problems (that being said, I never had problems with the control scheme (I actually loved it) or the lock-on with the gamecube versions)

My first Metroid game was Metroid Prime (I only had 3 games on my NES and didn't have a SNES). I was impressed by the expansiveness of the game in terms of play area and interwoven story, it is still one of my all time favorite games. Upon completing Metroid Prime (and the purchase and linkup of Metroid Fusion - which lead me to Zero Mission) I was introduced to the original Metroid and thus Super Metroid. Because of Metroid Prime I now own every game in the series except for Metroid II (Hurry up 3DS VC)

Re: Nintendo DS Sales Figures Make Wii's Look Tiny

TheAmazingRaccoon

that's weird, I have more ds games than wii games (retail that is). must not be the mean (as in an average) nintendo gamer

EDIT: @Tony64 I have 33 DS games as well. Bet they are not the same ones though
EDIT2: turns out my initial statement was incorrect; I have 55 Wii games. (what is with the palindrome numbers for games?)

Re: Nintendo Video Application Live in Europe Right Now

TheAmazingRaccoon

your region settings have to match the place where you are, or you can't download the movies. I live in NZ but had it set to Europe, and it didn't work. I changed the region to NZ and it did work.
It is anoying because I will have to alternate between regions depending if I want to look at videos or the eshop
