Kotaku Australia is reporting that Konami's Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D has been pushed back from its expected late 2011 release date to next year.
It's worth pointing out that this is based on a comment from an Australian Konami representative, and the most recent release schedule for Europe and North America pegged the game for a 2011 release.
However, Konami's current date for the game is "Winter 2011", and as the frosty season technically runs until February it could be a few months' wait.
We played the game recently, so read our First Impressions: Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D to gauge how Snake's adventure is shaping up.
Konami's European PR firm was unavailable for comment. We'll continue to make enquiries.

One step towards cancellation.
This game has good graphics but where it lags is the framerate speed. I sure hope this game's framerate is increased to what it is supposed to be by launch time.
Who cares really. Everyone's gonna buy the HD Collection anyway.

not gonna be cancelled stay positive
Some video I saw on Youtube said it is releasing in 2012 in Europe too.
@3 not me
If Nintendo doesn't cut the 3DS price by $50 before Christmas, I'm gonna really start worrying about it being a failure. The GAMES just aren't there and Nintendo has said it time and time again, GAMES sell systems. And I for one am not even very impressed with Nintendo's own lineup. Lots of the same. They need to make some big moves before the launch of the Vita
Also, almost ALL of the games that interested me have been canceled due to 3DS basically turning into the handheld equivalent to the Wii as far as 3rd partys go. Bloodrayne, Saints Row, Mega Man Legends, ETC ETC ETC ETC. Same thing will happen to Wii U as Wii if they don't change their ways SOON!
In the words of Solid Snake, "What the Hell...". Pretty soon, first party games will be all that come out this year for 3DS. Does look like 3DS is headed toward Wii-like 3rd party support. Nintendo has a heck of a start fulfilling it's goal to win over 3rd parties, doesn't it? What this means is more people will have MGS 3 from the HD collection and won't get this. Which will cut into sales enough that Konami will give Nintendo systems even less support (if that's possible without completely abandoning Nintendo). Snake. Snake? SNAAAAKKKKEEEE! (had to be done eventually in this thread )
@turtlelink
Heath Ledger Joker FOREVER!!!
@Lionsgate: So what "ways" are you referring to or are you just preaching to the choir?
Oh balls
At least star fox 64 should entertain me until then.
It doesn't bother me too much, I personally don't have a much time for gaming any more, but I do game a bit in the holiday season.
We aussies always get the short straw! >
It's ok as we are getting Xenoblade chronicles.
Article I saw at IGN had it delayed in US also. These days we get our share of short straws too.
As much as I hate to say it, the 3DS sucks hard right now & this delay doesnt help one bit.
I had one at launch, but due to lack of games I traded it in for a new xbox 360 last month. A decision I dont regret one bit.
I've learned that you cannot trust developers first word on when a game is releasing. There's always some kind of delay.
I didn't even know the game was supposed to be released this year.
Nintendo should increase the cap on game space, actually advertise the 3DS and release some of those raunchy, risky titles.
figures. It sucks being at the bottom of the barrel
Maybe it's got something to do with the price cut or the time needed to enhance the quality of the game. Anyway i hope everything turns out well for the 3DS and this game.
Not surprised... when a system is announced, with very few devs having dev kits, they WILL NEED time to polish their games. That's why I don't get hype about "release dates" until at least a month before release when it's almost to late to delay it. Low on my radar, and it looks like it will stay that way til 2012.
