this needs to become a global movement. If you were to list the titles that got a release in America but not in Europe (and god forbid in Australasia); it would likely be a longer list. We need to start a massive campaign for global releases and equality.

I agree that it is dependent on follow through and support for other titles in the future.

the fact that the trade in value is diminished doesn't bother me because I have never traded in a game in my life.

The fact that you cannot go back and start from scratch does bother me however as the game value to me will be seriously diminished once I have unlocked everything; whats the point if I can't start again.

It is fine to have immortal high scores, but not immortal unlockables

Re: Talking Point: Your Sonic the Hedgehog Memories

As I was (and still are) a die hard Nintendo and Mario fan I had no time for him in his early days. My friend had sonic 1, and I was impressed with the speed of the game, but was not swayed in any way.

So it was not until Sega went under, that I purchased my first sonic game: Sonic Adventure 2 Battle on Gamecube. The game did nothing to improve my impressions of the hedgehog. It was not until I got Sonic Gems (and the sidescrolling games contained therein) that I understood what I had been missing. since then I have purchased Rush and Secret Rings for my DS and Wii and downloaded the original trilogy on the VC............. marvelous

Potato patato, Australasia Oceania

Although I do like Oceania because it doesn't make NZ seem like part of Australia. It is NOT.

In reference to the article, woop woop!
It is nice that Nintendo of Australia didn't drop the ball on this one. Because usually they have butter fingers

EDIT: the ocarina is to make up for the wait we have to endure. I could have got it when Europe got it. But come on; ocarina

@11 you need to change your region under profile in system settings. Then go to the store and create a second account.

You can pick any country within PAL with a PAL system but not USA to get cave story. So it has more benefit to those under Nintendo of Australia.

@Mario_Party_Fan_999 yes, separate money for each region.

I found out this because I set my system to England to begin with, but needed to change it to NZ in order to transfer my DSiWare.

I highly recommend changing your region to England or something so you can purchase shantae and mighty milky way. I also found that England was cheaper than NZ. It may not be the cheaper for Australia, but it doesn't cost anything to change and have a look.

the coolest function of the eshop is that you can change your region and the funds you have in your original region are NOT lost.

The funds are tied to the account in the region. You can have multiple accounts in multiple regions, all with different currencies of the different regions.
