The pattern now seems to be (derived from Prrsona and maybe Etrian)

First, rerelease the original as a "remaster"

Second, remake the game but leave out additional content from prior remakes

Third, sell an extended version of the remake with the oft requested additional content (as dlc or a "Royal/Golden" version)

Thereby selling the game thrice to fans and early adopters...
Worked with FF7 as well (rerelease, Remake, Integrate)

Only things always bugging me:

• the RNG events to get social stats
• wrong confidant answers giving less points for the confidant

I concur. Hope it's the same form factor with backwards compatibility.
So "New" Switch a year before Switch 2 would be dumb, but Corona and the related shortages may have shifted the game somewhat.

Guess they finally noticed they can make big bucks with their back catalogue and small teams. Really hope they do a yearly tactics rpg (FF, Triangle Strategy, Ogre,,,) now.
Can't believe my favourite genre is making a comeback ;_;
Add some Valkyria (movement) and Xcom (cover) though.

MS wouldnt buy Nintendo because it would ever fit in terms of culture. Nintendo is much to Japanese to ever fit within MS

Not necessarily. IPs will consolidate and others will take up those that are abandoned (as gunvolt did for mega man)
AAA development is becoming more expensive and risky, but platform providers will still want to have the best games and will invest anyway.
Nintendo buying others would likely mean lower time to market, but better games. Would love to see their take on Square or Atlus IPs

Hope Nintendo gets nervous and buys SquareEnix, Sega (they own Atlus tight?), NIS or some other big Japanese player.

Still think their strategy is to be the Netflix of gaming.
This is just another move towards securing "content".

Monopoly commission wouldn't care, as they just declare "We are entertainment and compete in said Industry" making them small fish, even though that's bull
