Re: Square Enix President Knows You Hate NFTs Because You "Play To Have Fun"

@RudyC3
"We know you hate it but we're gonna do it anyway, because we don't care what you love or hate, if we force it onto you then you have no choice to gobble it up, so why wouldn't we!"
Also, we are in it for the 💰, not so you have fun playing our games. Paying up front is nice and the release day revenue is nothing to cough at, but we want to have a steady revenue stream and dry out the 🐳 for all they are worth, consequences for their life be damned 😈

@Spiders
It people who think themselves smart and outwitting others who "don't get it".
It's nothing but gambling though, with some few making all the money.
At some point the (digital) objects on offer will outweigh demand by far, making prizes fall to nothing, leaving poor buggers scraping for some leftover worth.
Happens all the time with cards and fad based products. Digital is even worse, as you could just copy-pasta for all eternity or just have an algorithm create new stuff ad infinitum

@TryToBeHopeful
Indeed.
The way they make it sound, it's going to be a mix of Microtransaction and user generated content, in hopes to earn money off the trading of said object.
Don't get why NFT tech is needed though (aside from being the new "investors demand it"-Buzzword, as similar things have been done with profile bound content (Second life, Roblox...)

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Games For Kids

MUA3 and Fortnight shouldn't be on this list. Kind of on the fence regarding Splatoon as well...
What should be added:
Pikmin 3 should be included though, as it is a very good introduction to strategic thinking.
Also Portal Knights should be included, as it's creative mode is similar to Minecraft, but with somewhat kid friendlier graphic.
Abzu was also a big hit with the kids, as the space/underwater and chill gameplay was a good fit.
Last but not least the two Dragon Quest Builder games, which combine classic Zelda gameplay and Minecraft creativity and crafting.
Edit:
Grow: Song of the Evertree also looks very fitting, haven't had the chance to look further into it though.

Re: Talking Point: Should The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack Library Expand Faster?

SwissCheese

Few games are available so far.
Yes, some are great, some are good, but considering the asking price, it's just sad, as most are now 20+ years old and the best have been rereleased repeatedly (looking at you OoT, with your GC and 3DS rereleases...).
The competition is offering current gen games for the same price.
Should they add Wii, WiiU, GB, GBC, GBA, DS, 3DS and/or GC games, they could compensate somewhat, but it would still be overcharging, considering their graphics and age...
If they were to add current gen games as MS and Sony do, I might reconsider...

Re: Talking Point: What Can This $1200 Portable PC Tell Us About The 'Switch Pro'?

Now that tablets and mobiles are able to emulate up to psone and Dreamcast easily, some even managing Wii, 3ds and PS2 titles, I think it but a matter of time until switch, PS3 and 4 are emulatable on a mobile device, leaving the point and usability of devices such as those presented here highly in doubt to ever spread beyond a well off niche, able and willing to pay the prices asked...
