Re: Series Producer Yoshio Sakamoto Is Interested In Making Another 2D Metroid

Smokingspoon

@Giygas_95 It could be an interesting way to finally see what Earth looks like, but... perhaps.

Or they could just do parallels with the Alien franchise once again and just elaborate on how Chozo created the metroids, just like Prometheus.

Although, I'll be honest, my impossible geek dream would be a Metroid mmo haha.. There's potential for it anyway.

Re: Rumour: Wii U System Update Hints That Miiverse Is Coming To An End Soon

Art Academy on WiiU! You can't post anything on miiverse that isn't a software on eshop lol.

Although I use A.A. Sketchpad, which was a version beta of it. The full, pricier, version is the only available version on eshop now. It's a formidable drawing software really. Although, it lacks layers and undo/redo-history that is a basic feature nowadays. Which means I basically did those drawing as if it were real paint lol.. kinda.

The red alien is a Vorlon from a sci fi tv show of the 90s called Babylon 5. It's a fantastic show that inspired Mass Effect a lot, among other things.

Re: Netflix Renews Castlevania Series For A Second, Longer Season

Smokingspoon

Seriously? It was horribly bad, and I have low standards in show and movies.

The writing was alright, the animation low budget but ok.
But the direction and screenplay are so bad. I wanted to like it but it was painful to watch. What was up with the useless profanity.. it's not even a vocabulary of that era.

The music was incredibly dull and uninspired. Castlevania has always been dynamic with awesome musics...

And the voice acting was.. meh. I tried several languages, english had the best. Alucard's voice though, it's nowhere as powerful as the voice actor who voiced him in sotn.

A big disappointment.

@ShadJV Yep...

Although I can't whine that botw was too easy (on normal mode), I see a lot of person rushing with the game. So I guess it's fine as it is. I just worry that Hard Mode won't be very hard.. not after getting some equipments anyway.

And yes, guardians are a tiny little disappointing. I thought they would actually stalk you as they're named Stalker. Since the first trailer at e3, I thought those things would actively search for you! Imagine how neat that'd be on hard mode. A good reason to sneak.

Some guy in hyrule will tell you about lynel's weakness, it's the only reason I knew about it. They're still quite the beast if you don't have good gears though!

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th June (North America)

Smokingspoon

@ShadJV There are many ways they could've fix it. But they're a bit lazy, if I can dare say on a nintendo fan site.

Better a.i. for monsters would be great too.. Bokoblins can't climb their own ladders or you can just stand still under a Moblin and it won't be able to do anything, for example. Golden lynels better not have that weakness anymore, once you discover it, they're not very intimidating.

I'll be honest, I found the game so easy (toward the end) that I never expanded my hearts. I played the whole game on 3 hearts. And I deactivated all magics, the wind aside since it's mostly just mobility.

Re: Nintendo Download: 29th June (North America)

Smokingspoon

@Lone_Beagle Overpowered, yes. It's because in this game there is no hearts anymore, just food, and it's so abundant! Not only that, but you can eat at any time to restore anything. You can eat during a battle, a boss, in midflight, while climbing. Having a grocery size food inventory doesn't help that!

Also, clothes can be changed at any time, which is a bit annoying as you can make yourself impervious to anything, anytime. Making the elements not very challenging, just bothersome (changing cloths every moments).

Re: Review: Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas (Switch eShop)

Smokingspoon

@ricklongo Yeah, they were. Especially one of them with the water. But they were VERY short-lived and easy.

I don't have much negative things to say about the main dungeons. Except, maybe, that they only have 2 type of enemies, all of them the same 2. But they were very cleverly designed anyway.

Re: Review: Oceanhorn: Monster of Uncharted Seas (Switch eShop)

Smokingspoon

@countzero Oh it's still an excellent Zelda, but it's just weird how almost everyone is dismissing the flaws.

I won't spoil anything. Although, all I'll say is, yes, severe lack of real dungeons. The shrines are interesting, but they really are a single puzzle (of a type. Mostly physic related).

I hoped the whole game for deep creepy caverns to explore with a torch, but there were none... There's that one place you can use a torch, but that's it.

A lack of enemies. There's about 18 enemy types, all with color variations for their level of difficulty (Sadly I find the hardest ones dumb and easy).

And some designs in that game are just way lower in LoZ quality standards. Bland, tbh.

Re: MercurySteam Elaborates On How It Came To Work On Metroid: Samus Returns

Smokingspoon

@jimi Yep, it's always about money ...
Also, don't try to make sense of the internet; it's mostly vocal 13yo gamers. I don't know how many times I've read '' I want f-zero'', when it's obvious that most of them won't buy it. It's like a trend.

To be fair, M:OM was really good, I loved it still. It was hugely underappreciated. Yes, it had cheese, pretty bad cheese.. but it was common japanese cheese that we've seen million of times before in pretty much all their medium. The localization didn't help too.

Honestly, it's mostly a cheap advertisement campaign on their part. I'm a huge metroid fan and I never knew about mzm or fusion before seeing in store. I heard about Prime 3 just a couple of days before the release. Same with M:OM.

And finally, I'm not very confident, sadly, in the upcoming metroids as pretty much all the creative minds behind the ones we loved are not involved. Although, I'm very interested in FForce, but I do not own a 3ds.

Re: Zelda: Breath of the Wild Director Says the Game’s Design Could Become the New Standard

Smokingspoon

Hurray... Does that mean we'll never spelunk a real cavern again, or still standing temples and dungeons to enter, or have a pretty and classic main menu with the fairy theme? Not being able to input our name because... there's very forgettable and dull voice-acting?

Those shrines weren't very dungeonesque to be blunt. They had just one type of enemy to make it more dull.. And the major bosses in that game, were they not incredibly unimaginative?!

There should've been half the number of shrines in that game if they were to be so overwhelmingly short and simple-- Just concentrating them together instead...

I still loved Botw, don't get me wrong, but was that game NOT perfect as critics make it out to be. I can only hope for dlc goodness.. Eventide Island was among the best thing in the game.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Zelda: Breath of the Wild - The Master Trials DLC?

Smokingspoon

The hard mode better be harder just monster with farther sight..... That game was so easy after getting used to it. All of these needs to be ajusted.

•Eating anytime makes it too easy, you can basically just goof around then eat away when your weak or out of stamina, unlimitedly.
Not just that but you can hoard sooo many meals, it's pretty much impossible to run out of hearts.
•Finding weapons is way too easy, they're everywhere
•You can change your cloths anytime to be pretty much invulnerable to anything anytime.
•Enemy patterns are too simple.
•Bows are overpowered! Hinox anyone?
•The puzzles were way too simple.

I also hope they add new enemies.... There are so very few types.. like, 15 enemy types. I miss redead and gibdos, darknuts and stalfos.. And pleeeease, add likelikes! Botw would be perfect for likelikes to return once again.

And add caverns! How come no one mentions this! There are no caverns in this game, no deep, dank, dark, spooky holes to spelunk.. Add traditional dungeons and ruins for crying out loud. Those high-tech, bright lit chozo shrines get redundant.
