Re: Where To Pre-Order Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit On Nintendo Switch

SkullDragr

@AtlanteanMan that's not the way I understood it. It looks like at least initially, they have a Mario "set" and a Luigi "set". The "set" being the car, the arrow markers and the gates (1-4). If you purchase both sets to use on one track, you won't be using one of the sets' gates or arrow markers. It would make sense to then have separate cars sold separately without the cardboard pieces. I would HOPE they sell those at a maximum of $59.99 (still pricey). The game itself is a free download because it's useless without the cars or the cardboard markers.

I'm curious what the battery life is on the cars and how long it takes to recharge them. I'm assuming they move really really slowly, so maybe that makes the battery last a good 10 hours or so.

At first glance it looks interesting, but then the more I think about it, the less I want it. You can make your own tracks, yes. But that's just a combination of circles, loops. There will be no cutesy backgrounds like Mario Kart tracks with Bowser's Castle, Thwomp Ruins, Ribbon Road, Water Park, etc. The only background will be your furniture. Also, looking at the overhead on Best Buy's website showing sample tracks in a room, these cars must move REALLLLY slowly otherwise they would whip through the track in 20 seconds. There will be no bullet to catch up and unless the software throttles the R/C cars, there will be no handicap to help the cars behind catch up. Some hate that, so that would be welcomed, but it's a staple of Mario Kart which may not be here. There will be no power sliding or jumps either. I think this would be a blast for a few hours, then it will get old real quick.

@unoclay Almost all of the "likes" (hearts) in this thread were reset to zero. I'm not sure if this is some sort of error or if the mods here are trying to keep things neutral, but again, I don't want to turn this into CNET. This is a forum about Nintendo video games on a UK based website and we're debating issues happening here in the US as if the world revolves around us. I'll give you a simple "thumbs up" and heart your post and then I'm going to stop commenting on it. Keep safe.

Re: 15 More Songs Revealed For Fuser, Harmonix's Upcoming Rhythm Action Game

SkullDragr

@bluesdance See my above message. Dropmix has elements of competition, but to me, it was more about the individual mixes one can create. It's a blast with friends when drinking and enjoying the music that each can create. If this is anything like Dropmix, it should be quite fun. But it will certainly be "a toy", not a whole lot of competitive action.

Re: 15 More Songs Revealed For Fuser, Harmonix's Upcoming Rhythm Action Game

@BenAV Did you get a chance to play Dropmix when it was on the market? I thought it was very clever and a lot of fun. The only downside was the large game "board" and all the individual cards to carry. A digital version was always a dream idea and this is said to be the evolution of Dropmix. I think it's going to be pretty incredible. It's a party/drinking kind of fun and best when played with nice speakers, so docked instead of handheld. It could suck, though! We'll see! Fingers crossed.

Re: Random: Is This Why We Never Got DLC For Super Mario Party On Switch?

SkullDragr

@aaronsullivan in today's world, every news source has a bias. "Fact checking" always has to be questioned because the person or team providing those "facts" are hardly ever bi partisan. Even Wikipedia, once a wonderful source of neutral information is now written and policed by those on the left. Your disagreement with anything I said must come from your understanding of issues from a left point of view. I don't disagree with everything on the left, nor do I agree with everything on the right, but each side has their own version of facts and it is up to the people to determine which to follow. I tend to look more to the right because in my view, the lies and deceit are there, but at lower rate than the left as of late.

Re: Random: Is This Why We Never Got DLC For Super Mario Party On Switch?

@sixrings You're trying to simplify it too much. "Equality" to many of the terrorist looters and rioters means the destruction of this foundation of this nation and the capitalist system which supports it. It means full on socialism. Socialism is a political ideology promoted by the far left, those ones trying to hijack the Democrat party. So yes, this BS narrative of "equality" is very much political.

Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Player Commits To Two Whole Weeks Of Non-Stop Livestreaming

@Incarna I went all in for 4 days (and all in for me means it shows I've played 35+ hours) and I haven't played more than 20 mins since. Just sold it on ebay. It's a lovely game, but once I realized the hours upon hours to put into it, I lost interest. I'm more of a "small samples" for enjoyment kind of guy. A Mario Kart race. A couple Smash battles. I couple rounds of Splatoon 2.

Re: Fitness Fanatics Are Now Paying Ridiculous Prices Online For Ring Fit Adventure

SkullDragr

@jaymacx It's not taking advantage of anybody. Bidders determined the price it sold for. I started at 99 cents and they rose it to over $170.

You can say the same about everything when it comes down to it if you want to pick a fight. Why are video games $59.99? What right do they have to earn so much profit at our expense? They're taking advantage of our desire to play games. I don't agree with that statement, but you might. The market has determined $59.99 to be the price consumers will pay. Whether that is fair or not is determined by consumers. If sales heavily dip, prices will fall. If sales skyrocket, someone will test the waters at $69.99. Consumers dictate prices by what they will spend, that's it. It's not taking advantage of anybody. Don't ride that ridiculous line of "people need this because they're stuck in their homes". Ring Fit Adventure is very very very low on the "necessary supplies list" in times of crisis. It was my personal copy, I bought it day 1, rarely played and decided it was wise to list it since others wanted it far more than I did. Some may consider that I did someone a favor by offering it up, the buyer was more than excited to have won so he could play with his boy. Obviously, $170 to him isn't a bank breaker.

Re: Fitness Fanatics Are Now Paying Ridiculous Prices Online For Ring Fit Adventure

SkullDragr

@wazlon the market has dictated what it's worth. If I put one up at auction for 99 cents, it will soar to near $200 because that's what someone deems it worth. Supply and demand. If you think all prices should be capped, you're against capitalism. I guess that's a popular leftist theme today. And again, I'm not referring to items deemed necessary for health and sanitation in times of crisis.

Re: Nintendo's Request To Dismiss Joy-Con Drift Lawsuit Gets Rejected

SkullDragr

I have day 1 Joy-Con and a day 1 Switch Lite which has gotten 90% of my game play since release and have yet to experience drift. That being said, I've always worried about how fragile the sticks look, am concerned by so many talking about problems they have and really baby my stuff. I'm overly worried about it. My PS4 and XBO controllers would just be tossed into a bag, thrown around, but I actually have cases for my precious little fragile Joy-Con so they don't get hurt. That's really sad.

Re: There Are Now Well Over 250 Nintendo Switch Joy-Con Combinations

SkullDragr

I had this idea that I needed to own every color Joy-Con. I had the blue/yellow and orange/purple sets on pre-order. And then once I got my Switch Lite, I realized I'll never again take my OG Switch on the road with me, so there's really no need for Joy-Con at all. I have a Pro Controller for home and that's all I need. See ya, completist fetish.
