If you didn't pick up Cotton Rock n' Roll on its JPN release, consider Cotton Fantasy! It's super fun, and having all of the different character playstyles makes it infinitely replayable. The series' signature cute-humor is still present and just as charming. If you're coming from Cotton Reboot, you'll be happy to hear that you can actually see the screen now, as gigantic score numbers no longer cover EVERYTHING. (Cotton Reboot is still awesome though)

Re: Chrono Trigger Gets Ultrawide 21:9 PC Update (But Still No Nintendo Switch Release)

SergeEXE

This patch was released on the 27th Anniversary of the game's initial release. With Chrono Cross Remastered on the way, it seems like a way to keep fans engaged with the series. I've tested it out, the 21:9 mode isn't bad, but you lose some Vertical resolution to offset the extra Horizontal resolution. I would call it a very playable release of the game, better than a lot of Square Enix's previous mobile->PC ports prior to the FF Pixel Remasters.

Quick note if you're a modder looking to change the Lever: "Ultra-Moddable" this stick is not. Regular Moddable? Yes! But you'll need minor soldering skills. Also: the website lists that it's compatible with all types of Levers, like Sanwa (which is true!), Seimitsu, Happ, IL, etc. Other than Sanwa, the body for this stick is TOO SHALLOW, and at BEST the bottom of the lever will scratch the bottom plastic. So, while TECHNICALLY you can mount the sticks to their plate, it ain't gonna fit.

Other than that, I really like this stick a lot. There's a lot of great features. But, if you're particular about your lever, maybe do some hard research.

Re: Capcom Updates Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition To Version 1.0.1

@razer There are a bunch of factors you're not considering. So, from the top. Game size. Yes, this was a PS2 game. That ran at 480i. Every texture, effect and model needs to be upscaled to 1080p. This makes files a lot bigger.
Yes, Digital-only stinks, but that has the added benefit of letting someone only get DMC 1 and 3, letting them ignore 2 ever existed. I also advocate for Digital games the majority of the time (there are cases, such as de-listing, that I'm aware of and oppose).
As to Who Cares. A LOT OF PEOPLE. They're a niche, yes, but a sizable and vocal niche who REALLY appreciate having official Style/Weapon Switching support. This is an incredible update to a Classic of the genre.

You seem very focused on sales numbers alone, when total sales is a really bad number to focus on. That's why it took so long to get DMC5, because Capcom expected 4 to do Call of Duty numbers back in the day. It sold great! Fantastic even, best of any DMC at that point. But CoD numbers? No. They made profit and still called it a failure when it wasn't.

Now, Monster Hunter 4. It sold so we'll because MonHun was Nintendo/3DS exclusive at that point. And everyone in Japan had a 3DS for this reason. Western sales don't matter here, because that game wasn't released over seas. 4 Ultimate was, and that has its own sales figures. It sold about as much, a little more, and was released in most regions. The whole world bought the update as much as Japan ALONE bought the first.

Ultra Street Fighter 2 was considered a HUGE success and it ain't on that list. So consider what Capcom considers to be a success these days, and be happy they're making such good content for the Switch Platform. I think they're performing admirably. With Monster Hunter World selling so well, they can focus on making more niche projects for Switch and other systems, like DMC3 with the update and MMZero Collection.
That's my 2 cents

Been playing King of Cards, it's absolutely fantastic so far.

Very excited for Jamestown+ to unlock! Big fan of the game, a very accessible Shmup that encourages player growth and mastery with a very steady and manageable difficulty curve. And the 4 player coop works very well, to boot.

Re: Fantasy Strike Takes The Fight To Nintendo Switch Next Month

As someone who has been playing this for the past 3 years on PC, I can whole-heartedly recommend Fantasy Strike. It is everything it promises to be and more. It is how I've gotten my friends into fighting games. $30 is a great price for a game that's had so much love, dedication, testing and community effort put into it.

I picked up one of these, and the quality really is fantastic. Paired with the Game Boy Interface, it's the best way of playing any Games Boy games on a modern TV. If you're interested, check out the My Life in Gaming episodes about GameCube and Game Boy to see if you'd like to make the purchase, which is what I did.

Re: Fantasy Strike Is A Switch Fighter Where Anything Can Be A Weapon

SergeEXE

As someone who's been playing this since SUPER early Alpha, as opposed to it's current Early Alpha state, Fantasy Strike is incredible. It turns non-fighting game players into fighting game players. As soon as the Switch was even announced, the development Discord blew up with people wanting it for the system, especially considering it already supports Unity.

This is a huge win for everyone.

Re: Check Out the HORI Real Arcade Pro V Fight Stick for Switch

SergeEXE

It seems kinda cheap to be talking about the Stick now since there's no information about its release whatsoever. That being said, when it does get released, I'll pick it up. It will be massively more comfortable to play Puyo Puyo Tetris with, along with all of the Neo Geo games and SF2.

Re: Nintendo Download: Flip Champs, Final Fantasy IV, Boulder Dash (US)

SergeEXE

The game came out in 12 chapters for Mobile phone release, about a month apart. I'm guessing the same release schedule will follow here as well, just with 9 chapters, meaning that there will be more content per chapter for WiiWare...but still. $32 is too much for a game like that. I was looking forward to the whole game on day 1, considering how long they were working on it, for around 2000 Wii Points, but alas, my hopes were too high.

Edit: Alright, I have to clarify myself here. What they basically did was take the game from mobile phones and stuck it in Widescreen for the Wii. They could have released it all on Day 1, considering someone already said the first additional chapter is already out. It doesn't sound like they added any new content to the mix either, which is disappointing. $32 for a full RPG isn't too much, but considering we have the likes of Breath of Fire II on VC for $8...I just think SquEnix dropped the ball a bit here.
