@Yorumi I thought we were here to talk about melee? And it seems that most people are being mature about this topic. I've only seen two people who have just come out screaming insults at the other side. And they weren't both on one side, one was calling the ones who think this is a great thing insults, and one was calling the ones who didn't see why this was necessary insults.

I feel that, while diversity can be a good thing, we don't need to make this about gender. Just let the best players make the rules, and leave it at that. If the panel was made of all females, there wouldn't be this much media coverage, I can assure you.

@DTFaux Of course, it is possible she said no because she wanted others in, and then when she found out there were no other women, she decided to step in. I just hope that this is something she legitimately wants to do, and she isn't just stepping in for diversity's sake.

Again, I may be wrong, but I feel they would have asked more than two women if there were actually more than two women who were good enough at melee. I feel like a fact we just have to accept is that the competitive melee community is a mostly male community. I'm not saying that that's a good thing, in fact, I would love for it to be balanced between males and females, but I feel this is just something we have to accept, and not that the rules committee is all guys that hate women so they only asked two of them.

I realize I have been previously wrong. I thought this was a rules committee for a tournament, but in reality this is a rules committee to discuss the rules of melee going forward. Either way, I still question why it is so important that females declined a position, and then were interested when they realized they would be the only females. In my mind, it's about publicity for them, as well as the man that stepped down, but I might be wrong.

I don't think calling everyone "SJW's" or "Snowflakes" is helping anything. at the same time, I have the same stance on calling everyone "Scared white men" or "Sexists". I think we should skip the name calling, and actually calmly discuss the topic at hand.

@brandonbwii I do agree. If the female player was awful, and this was just about pure diversity and nothing else, then I think there would be a lot more controversy.

I don't understand why it's such a big deal that women turned down an offer, and then suddenly were interested when they knew that gender diversity would be on the line. It would be fine if this person stepped down to let a woman take his place if no women were invited, solely because they were women. I suppose this could open up a door for more female participants in the future, yet it almost seems like these women are being forced into taking a position just so the melee community can make a statement. Just my opinion though.

@BarFooToo yeah. I'm going to be starting late, just so I can skip through Mario Oddysey, as I want most of the game to be a surprise to me.

Please let these be a joke... If not, I at least hope they're either surprisingly good, or don't get past Nintendo quality control, as these haven't been officially announced by them.

I say we definitely get more news about Kirby for Switch, as well as a release date for Yoshi. And if I had to put my money on any brand spankin new game, it would be on an announcement for Mario party switch.

I enjoyed my time with a riptide game on PS4. I'll be keeping my eye on this one.

I've been hesitiant to get one, because I heard that there was severe input lag when playing with another person using a joy-con. Now that that appears to be fixed, I may look into it a little more.

I'm going to try the demo for Oceanhorn, but I don't know if I'll get the whole game. I keep seeing people saying it's not very good, but it look fine to me.

Finally! Thank you Nintendo! The best thing will be all those scalpers who got 40 of them, just to notice that they're coming back on store shelves. I'll be so excited to finally get my hands on one.

If they allowed you to get platinum points in my Nintendo for getting achievements, that would be awesome.

I've only been playing mostly in handheld, because my siblings are always playing the PS4...

I've been really enjoying my time with the switch so far. With amazing single-player experiences like Zelda, and Super fun multiplayer games like Splatoon 2, Mario kart, and Snipperclips. I hope the Switch is supported for many years to come.

Sigh... We all were so hopeful...

Maybe if L.A. Noire does well on Switch, Rockstar might consider putting GTA V on. I don't think the Switch would be able to handle the PS4/XB1 versions, but I think it could do the PS3/XB360 versions.

I might consider picking two of these up, and then getting Minecraft so that I can play that with more of my siblings, because we currently have four joy-cons, not enough for 4-player minecraft.

I won't get it. I only have a 2ds, but I've hardly touched it since the switch came out, just once or twice to revisit some of those games. (Also I live in America...)

This is nice. It's something TT didn't need to do, and could have just left alone. But they decided to change it to something more pleasant, and I respect that.

To be completely honest, I was sick of trying to get an NES classic last year that I wasn't even going to try to get an SNES mini...

Honestly, I only had a problem with the home button. The capture button worked fine for me.

I want to buy Sonic Mania, but I can't see myself doing it after blowing $80 on extra joy cons to play things like MK8DX with my siblings. This week I'll only be getting the demo for rayman and monster hunter stories. I'll probably get sonic mania at some point, but sadly, this week is not the time.

Favorite game on the 3ds right here. This game is criminally underrated.

I feel that, as long as they can actually produce 10M switches this year, and as long as they get them into stores before black Friday, 10M switches sold this year should be easy for them.

I''m going to be picking this up. I've been wanting this game for a while, but haven't gotten it because I can't afford 4 Steam controllers to play with my siblings. Now that it's on the switch, I'll definitely be getting it
