Wario Stadium carried the Mario 64 for many years, playing it 4 player versus almost exclusively.. I don’t know why the love is not shared enough. The well timer lightning over the ramp sending folks half way to the back of the course and the ways we used to counter that with mushrooms and miniboosts, it was just multiplayer bliss.
@quinnyboy58 the comparison is only natural, because its set in the same world, and positioned as canonical. Isn’t this what nintendo went for? A prequel as a major holiday release?
@Heavyarms55 are you giving Nintendo the benefit of the doubt here? Because its entirely on Nintendo not regional policies. They have been and still are ignoring most “Other” markets beyond West and Japan.
I’m more interested in the Mario 64 intro face supporting touch. Any info on that? Haven’t seen it highlighted in any of the videos just showing the usual glove cursor.
Kickstarter campaigns have always been about marketing and community building as much as fundraising. I think the Wonderful 101 kickstarter is novel and interesting in two ways, it was a means to kickstart Platinum’s self publishing career and it was in some indirect way Nintendo’s first foray into crowdfunding. Imagine a world where developers can take order dormant Nintendo IPs and revive them with crowdfunding.
My problem with this game, when I saw the new character gameplay video is that there is a lack of sound effects for character movement and fighting and that’s made the game feel hollow for me. Anyone else noticed that?
@FX102A nah, that's people who went holiday shopping for a switch, got fed up of the lines and went for a ps4 instead. Or maybe the start of the crazy shopping season there.
Well does Amazon's system allow listing items for zero pounds? Maybe for some reason someone at Amazon UK thought it was a good idea to list the demos where they're available, and they couldn't list them for free, a technical limitation of the system they have.
@RETRO_J All the system sellers announced so far (Smash and Pokemon) are lined up for the holiday season. DKTF and Labo sold nicely but they're no system sellers. Still it's quite the challenge. If they sell at same rate outside the holiday season they'll need to sell around 16 million Switches during Q4 and around it.
I don't know what surprises they have for this year, but I think ports and/or psuedo-sequels (like Splatoon 2) of Wii U Mario and Zelda HD games will be helpful.
That’s actually a pretty good pitch. This guy seems to understand what makes Metroid great. I can see it working as an indie movie or a movie short, high on atmosphere, low on cast and budget. That way expectations wouldn’t be through the roof.
I played Sky Force 2014 on iOS and I loved it. It’s a highly polished game with good graphics and fun gameplay. I found it quite challenging but I don’t consider myself a highly skilled gamer. I don’t know about reloaded but it looks like more of the same.

Re: Feature: 27 GameCube Games We'd Love To See On Nintendo Switch 2 NSO
This list is missing the original Super Monkey Ball, not the Unity Engine remakes, and most importantly, Sega’s Beach Spikers.
Re: Switch 2 GameChat Choppy Frame Rate Explained By Nintendo
I thought the choppy grainy mug videos was a homage to gameboy camera, but thanks for clearing that out!
Re: Talking Point: How Would You Fix Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom's Most Frustrating Feature?
Multi layered radial where first dial is groups, 2nd dial is echoes.

Re: Sea Of Stars Exceeds First Year Sales Projections In Launch Week
This just means that they’re really bad projecting sales
Re: Japanese Charts: Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes Takes The Top Spot
@mjharper I think the writer meant “if you do not factor the digital edition sales”.
Still an achievement for Xbox in Japan.
Re: Random: University Student Makes Brilliant Zelda-Inspired Animation, Gets An A
@Chocobo_Shepherd too good to pass up on it.
Re: Reggie "Hated" Donkey Konga And Was Worried It Would Hurt The DK Brand
I can’t be the only person here who had enough of Reggie news. It feels like he was less in the news here when he was actually working at Nintendo.
Re: Tributes Pour In For 'Coffee Talk' Developer Fahmi
Thank you NL for writing about him.
Correction: Fahmitsu is his nickname / twitter handle. His studio name is Pikselnesia.

Is it any good? Might get it for the little one.
Re: Soapbox: We Need To Talk About The One Thing Nintendo Got Wrong With The Switch OLED
@NEStalgia that’s definitely it, that’s why Nintendo made it like that in the OG Switch as well.

All this reggie news is becoming a bit too on the nose, don’t you think?
Re: Minimalistic Bullet Hell Shooter Null Drifter Blasts Onto Switch This Week
It’s called retro, 8-bit or pixel art, not minimalistic.

@Knuckles-Fajita if its declared it's not manipulative. It's something that is allowed, or rather incentivized by the available financial instruments.
Re: Nintendo Releases Complete Sales Figures For Its Million-Selling Switch Games
Good on DKTF. Poor Bayonetta, deserved a better push especially with a sequal announced.
