Etrian Odyssey 4 is great. no overworld except when you fly your ship around to get to different labyrinths. Menu based town. Very hard (harder than SMTIV) and more grind heavy but pretty different game and is cool. For $30 I'd say definitely get it.

Standalone games are cool too With that as a constraint on games it'll be harder to make cool games and they'll always be looking for a game that can go on. Some cool game idea might be shot down b/c of this and that seems cold. Ubisoft goes too far w/ their series anyways...

Good First Impressions, pretty much what I was expecting from the game when I heard it announce. Was the DKCR for Wii game great? Absolutely! And considering this is more of the same it's going to be great too! Should they have done something different? Probably, but that doesn't make the game bad because they chose to play it safe. Anyways, still want to hear what Retros other project is all about
