Re: Review: Smash Table Tennis (Virtual Console / NES)

Ricardo91

@Dazza. What you did there, I see it.

There's no way this game can be that bad. The other NES sports games got higher scores than this, and they were horrible (I'm sure baseball's far worse than this). Judging from the review, this should've been a 4 or 5. The review didn't speak of any game-breaking bugs or glitches or anything like that. It just said the game was limited. It seems like it still provides a adequate table tennis experience, like it sets out to do.

Re: Review: Incoming! (WiiWare)

Ricardo91

Another timeless classic from JV Games...

I knew this game was gonna be sh!te the minute I saw those buggy-eyes, uglu tanks. Great first review, Brutus! These reviews of bad games are always a fun read! Hopefully though the next game you review will be slightly better.

Re: Review: Namco Museum Remix (Wii)

Ricardo91

@Madgear. There's an idea! As much as I love Ms. Pac-Man and Galaga, having them on every single Namco Museum is getting annoying. Namco has made tons of arcade games over the years that haven't seen the light of day since their original release. I, personally, am waiting for a Namco Museum with light gun games such as Point Blank and Time Crisis.

Re: Review: Namco Museum Remix (Wii)

Ricardo91

I have 2 iterations of Namco Museum already, and even though I'm mildly interested in trying the updated games (particularly Pac-Motos and Pac n' Roll), none of the games are anything I haven't seen before. Pass.

Please Namco, make it stop.

Re: What Capcom games do you want to see on the Virtual Console?

Ricardo91

  • Duck Tales (NES)
  • Gargoyle's Quest II (NES)
  • Little Nemo: The Dream Master (NES)
  • Mega Man & Bass (SNES)
  • Demon's Crest (SNES)
  • Mega Man: The Wily Wars (Genesis)
  • Mega Man X (SNES)
  • Street Fighter Alpha (ENOUGH WITH THE SFII PORTS!!)
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II (Arcade)
  • Strider (Arcade/Genesis)
  • The rest of the NES Mega Mans (if possible)
  • Bionic Commando (NES, a suspend feature would really help)
  • Aladdin (Genesis)

Re: Review: BlastWorks (Wii)

Ricardo91

I've thought about getting this, but I've always been too hesitant to do so. I'm more interested in Geometry Wars Galaxies. Maybe I'll just DL Tumiki Fighters instead.

Re: Game & Watch Games to be Released on DSiWare

Ricardo91

Oh well. It's not Game Boy like we all hope for, but it's something at least. It's too bad they only get the original versions too. It would be awesome to have the updated versions from the G&W Galleries available as well.

EDIT: Now I might finally have the chance to play the original G&W Zelda! It's far too much work to unlock it in G&WG4.

Re: Nintendo Download: 14-15 July 2009 (JAPAN)

Ricardo91

That racing game sounds amazing! Especially since it has online! Me wants a US release! That card battle game looks fun too. First time I saw the the pic I thought it was some sort of FF Tactics spinoff lol. I'm a little interested in Burning Force too. It IS from that Namco company I like so much.

Re: Suda 51: I'd Love Travis Touchdown to Star in Smash Bros.

Ricardo91

@Digiki and Wanderlust. I actually like the Final Smashes. They add an extra layer of randomness to the combat (half the fun of the series), and they give you an advantage when you're doing badly.

Travis Touchdown as a SB character would be kinda cool I guess, but I'd rather have Mega Man and Tails/Knuckles...

Re: Nintendo Download: Cores, Bubbles, Chariots, Sports, Numbers and Cars (US)

Ricardo91

@Aquateen & SuperSonic1990. Personally I'd rather have a C64 game and some awesome original games as opposed to an outdated entry in an established series, but that's just me.

@Wariofan. Indeed an interesting observation! I never caught that! If that is the pattern, I might not have to wait forever for Pradroid and Impossible Mission after all!

I'll skip California games, and am still not quite sure if I should get BAM+. It sounded kinda limited in the shop description. Guess I'll wait for a review. And Bit. Trip Core is definitely on the list for sure. Now I just hope we get Cave Story next week.

Anybody played Core yet? If so, do they have any suggestions as to which Bit. Trip I should get first?

Re: Review: Bit Boy!! (WiiWare)

Ricardo91

Good lord, it's like Plaatchen all over again!

Honestly people, can't we just agree to disagree here? The general public thinks the game sucks, some people like it, so be it. IThe constant arguing about it is getting nowhere, so why don't we just go back to Bit Boy itself and stop arguing about BPlus themselves?

Re: Brand New Infinite Space Trailer

Ricardo91

Can we have some gameplay footage now? So far I'm not impressed with the convoluted, terrible script and even more terrible acting. This is even the exact same trailer they posted yesterday!

Re: Incoming! Coming to WiiWare in July

Ricardo91

When I saw the Advance Wars picture, I thought it was gonna be some sort of Wiiware AW spinoff. Turns out I was wrong. I'm sad now.

EDIT: Just saw the trailer, and now I REALLY wish it was an AW spinoff. I mean c'mon. Tanks with eyes? WTF?

Re: Gold Nintendo World Championships Sells for $17,500

Ricardo91

@Uel. Who said it was?

Game Informer did an article 2-3 months ago about the highest-selling games, and these came out on top. I think the guy actually made a pretty smart decision. He now has 2 of the most valuable games in history, and their value will just increase as years go by. Sure, he'll be out of some dinner money for a couple years, but he'll be thankful for it in the long run.

Though for the record, I wouldn't even spend 1/20 of that money on any game.

Re: Review: Bit Boy!! (WiiWare)

Ricardo91

@Wiiloveit. Keep telling yourself that.

I'm honestly very dissapointed. I've said this before, but with an idea like this B+ could've finally redeemed themselves. Yet somehow, they managed to screw up a simple maze game. Pathetic.

I don't see why people still insist on defending this company. They made three overhyped, hideous-looking turd-storms that bombed worldwide, and yet you still defend each and every one of their works, and say their next effort's going to turn out better. You guys need to realize that this is a terrible company that doesn't put that much effort into their games, and will never make a quality title even if it hit them in the face, so stop hoping already. There's plenty of other indie developers on Wiiware that make far better product and take far more pride in their work. Like Calculopn said, it's three strikes, and they're out.

Re: Nintendo Download: 07-08 July 2009 (JAPAN)

Ricardo91

So Electroplankton, a game that was barely even a game to start with, is being broken into fragments for DSi too? Swell...
Also, Sky Kid sucks. Especially at 800 points.

At least Japan gets Super Punch-Out!! Though, so it's not all bad.

Re: Cave Story Nearing The Finish Line

Ricardo91

"See you change that up a little and you have a company that gives the Wii great games on a consistent basis"

Consistent basis? On the contrary. Sure, there's the Boom Blox series, and some recent quality Motionplus games like Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods PGA Tour '10, but most of their efforts at this point consists of sub-par fare like Boogie and the All-Play series. Bleck!

Like Deadly by design, I'd rather give my money to the little guy too. Like I said earlier, Pixel spent years working on the original and didn't ask a thing in return. Now, a whole new group of people who never bothered to play the original game (for whatever reason) can experience such a gem of a game. I think he deserves some moneys. I'm sure EA would earn more than enough money from Madden and such to fund their next Wii project.

And who knows, maybe if the game does well, Pixel will grace the Wiiware service with another great game.

Re: Cave Story Nearing The Finish Line

Ricardo91

@Alexsays. This version has a few tweaks from the original, and it's coming to Wiiware, a service that can always use a quality game. Plus, Pixel (the guy who made the original game) spent years working on it, and never asked for a single dime. He deserves some money for putting such effort into one of the finest freeware games ever made.
