"but outside of appearing in collections for the PSP and DS there's been no home console ports anywhere else that we're aware of."

It's also on Namco Museum: Virtual Arcade for the Xbox 360.

Glad to see the arcade version of Dig Dug hit the VC somewhere. Dig Dug II was pretty good, but not nearly as good as the original.

Baraduke is a pretty fun game, but it's a little overpriced at 800 points here. But with that said, I'm a little more interested in seeing that come up on VC than KSS, since people can easily play the superior KSSU. Why must Namco continue to leave us in the dust?

Oh, and that ninja game on the DSi sounds pretty cool.

Re: Review: Final Fantasy (Virtual Console / NES)

"Seriously, those of you who claim the GBA and PSP remakes are good, or even better than the original... what exactly do you like about them?"

  • Retains most of what made the original game good (multiple job choices adding tons of replay value, old-school gameplay, ect.)
  • Makes the difficulty more accessible to people who don't like wandering around the same area for 3 hours, fighting the same monsters over and over again just so they can enter the next dungeon without dying at the door (though I'll agree with you that made it a bit too easy)
  • 4 (5 in the PSP version's case) new dungeons featuring bosses from other FF games
  • Better translation, spells and names aren't restricted to 4 letters
  • Great remixed music
  • contains a bestiary

Really, the pathetic difficulty and ability to save anywhere (should've gone with the quicksave like all the other portable FFs) were the ONLY ways in which the GBA version was worse than the original. If you prefer the game in it's original form, that's fine, but don't go criticizing people for thinking that the remakes were better. That's their opinion.

I have FF already on the GBA collection, but I still want to get the original, if only to have the game in it's original form. The GBA version was also way too easy.

Other than that though, it looks like another lame week on the Nintendo front.

"Wrong. This is the best game in the series by far."

FFIV says hi.

Re: Review: Rayman DS (DS)

Ricardo91

So the PS1 version was downsized? Hmm, no wonder it was always so cheap...

Even with the PS1 version's restrictions, Rayman 2 was and still is one of the greatest 3D platformers ever made. Shame this version butchered it so.

Re: Rare: Fate Was Against Us With Goldeneye

Everyone should've expected this. It's not only a licensed game, but a game made by a company that gave the rights to their games to another company. This is a licensing nightmare, people.

Personally I've never played Goldeneye, since I never owned and N64, so I'm not too down at this. I do plan to get an N64 sometime soon, so I should see what all the fuss is about soon enough.

Re: Super Nintendo Review Fridays

All I can say is... Awesome! The SNES has one of the greatest libraries of any game system to date, and it would be great to see some lesser-known titles a chance to shine. I really wish I owned one.

Re: Wii Version of Madden NFL 10 Selling Poorly

I've never bought a single Madden game in my life. The reasons? I'm not all that crazy about professional football, and I know that whenever I buy one, it'll be made completely obsolete the following year. I was tempted to get Madden '06 at one point though, since it would give me a free car in Burnout Revenge.
