So with all these "complaints" about the easier difficulty, would this be a good entry point into the series then? Cuz I played a demo of Contra 4 a while back and barely lasted 10 seconds.
Contra Rebirth: Insta-buy with my next points card/pre-paid credit card. Everything else? MEEEEEHHH!
@P. DANGER. I agree with you completely.
@Nintendork. You know, if you're so desperate to see Smash Bros. on VC, why don't you buy a used N64 and the actual cartridge? The two of them are as common as can be, and dirt-cheap to boot.
@The Crow, Cow, whatever. Your mental disorder doesn't make your pointless rants any less annoying. There's several autistic members on this site, and they never feel the need to go on weekly tirades like yourself.
@Metang. Uhhh... Racist? Are you sure you're reading the right post? Cuz I didn't see a single ounce of racism in his comment...
I had this on the PS2, and I found it to be a real disappointment as well. Sure, it was my introduction to Rolling Thunder, Dragon Spirit, and Galaga '88 (all awesome games), but there should've been a lot more here. I mean it's their 50th Anniversary, for god's sake! Where's the '90s games? Or game designer interviews? Or even the freakin' borders!? It also annoyed the hell outta me how I had to save my game manually to record high scores. Some of the options were cool though (invincibility in Rolling Thunder FTW!)
Even though I own every significant Namco arcade game at some form at this point, I really interested in looking for the NM PS1 series. In hindsight, I feel like a real sucker for investing in the recent ones (save for Battle Collection and Virtual Arcade. Those were worth every penny!)
@Superman. Have you ever even owned a 360? What exactly makes it's library so terrible (besides the shortage of true exclusives)?
I really hate it when people make an account on this site just to go on tirades about how horrible the Wii is.
Nothing for me here, personally. PLE might be a future DSi purchase, but I'll wait till I get the Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection to play Phantasy Star, and I couldn't really care less about the others.
I already have Mr. Driller Online and Drill Spirits, so I'll pass on this. Is there anything in this game that's significantly different from the other two that would make me change my mind?
Slow week, but at least the games we got are good.
@WhoKnew. Don't you understand? Every week has to have a Nintendo game in it, otherwise it's completely worthless.
@Twilight. Yes, Dig Dug II wasn't nearly as successful as DD1, which is probably why you've never heard of it. It's a decent little game, but nowhere near as good as the original.
Given how amazing the predecessor was, it's a shame to see this game get such a mediocre score. I almost got it once, but I wound up getting Rocket Slime instead. I think I made the right decision.
I'm more interested in the 64 version, but I'm glad this has finally released after being rated for so long. I hope Nintendo resurrects this series for Wii.
Oh can it, people! Sure, Super Metroid would've been better, but still, Nintendo is giving us a game FOR FREE! These days, the only thing you can get for free is a punch in the face!
Makes sense that they'd do this, given that the original Metroid was an unlockable on Prime 1.

Re: Review: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story (DS)
Wow! Really that good huh? Screw waiting for my birthday, I'm getting this this weekend!
Re: Nintendo Download: Spaceballs, Shopping Carts, Poker, Street Challenges, Art and Toys (US)
Fail update is fail.
Admittedly I'm tempted to get Crash n' the Boys, due to the Kunio connection, but I also hate button-mashing games of it's ilk sooo... Maybe not.
Re: Left 4 Dead Map Infects Mushroom Kingdom
Looks like I'll be getting the PC version after all!
Re: Spaceball: Revolution Coming to NA on Monday
Let the schwartz be with you!
No wait, wrong Spaceball.
Re: Official Copter Crisis Trailer Released
@KDR. Exactly.

Re: Bonk Headbutts His Way Onto WiiWare
Next step? Pinobee 2. Make it happen, Hudson!
Re: Bit.Trip Void
Looks kinda like Katamari Damacy crossed with Ikaruga.

Nyxquest needs to be higher, dammit!
Re: Bonk: Brink of Extinction Coming to WiiWare
Excellent! I've played the first 2 Bonks on VC and they're both great (still need to get III though).
Re: Shantae Sequel, For Serious This Time?
Please say it is so! I've wanted to play the original Shantae for years!

Re: Nintendo Download 01-02 September 2009 (Japan)
A 500-point bullet-hell shooter on DSiWare? AWE-SOME.
Re: Review: Mr. Driller W (WiiWare)
And once again, a question I asked goes unanswered.
Re: Review: Mr. Driller W (WiiWare)
I already have Mr. Driller Online and Drill Spirits, so I'll pass on this. Is there anything in this game that's significantly different from the other two that would make me change my mind?
Re: Review: Defender (GameCube)
Oh yeah, I've always wanted to try this one...
Re: That Earthworm Jim WiiWare Game? Yep, A Remake
BOO!

@The Crow. How's it going, Jack Sparrow?

Re: Review: Yoshi's Island DS (DS)
@accc. I beg to differ. Rocket Slime is amazing. If you've played it, you'd agree with me.

Re: Review: Mr. Driller Drill Land (GameCube)
I actually thought about importing this. Are gamecube games region-locked?
At the time, I settled for Mr. Driller DS, which also proved to be quite awesome.
Re: And Yet It Moves Coming to WiiWare
Just played the demo yesterday. Very funky and fun game!
Re: Majesco's Working On Two New Tetris Games
Exactly what the world needs. More Tetris...
Re: Modern Warfare 2 Could Come To Wii
""Want this on Wii?"
So it can look like this? I don't think so.
Re: Review: Pilotwings (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
I'm more interested in the 64 version, but I'm glad this has finally released after being rated for so long. I hope Nintendo resurrects this series for Wii.
Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Wii Details, Screens Emerge
Why was this even made?
Re: Review: Shadowrun (Super Nintendo)
9? Whenever I hear about this game, I hear about how terribly it's aged.
Re: Japan Gets 20 More Namco Arcade Games
@Morphballer. You're thinking Rolling Thunder 3.
Damn you, Namco! DAAAAAMMMMMNNN YOOOUUUUU!!!
Re: And Yet It Moves Coming to WiiWare
Yeah, the game does look interesting. I really should try that demo.
Re: Phoenix Wright Was Considered For Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom
"Why didnt they just break the word in four? Like OB-JE-CT-ION ?"
That's what I was thinking.
Re: Nintendo Download: Ninjas, Picture Books, Slot Cars, Sudoku and Guitars (US)
@Everyone compaining about no Star Wars. You guys got something against ninjas?
Will probably get Shinobi sometime down the road, but other than that this week is a bust.
Re: Earthworm Jim Squiggling Onto WiiWare
Huzzah for another franchise rebirth! Which reminds me, I still need to play the original...
Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Game Boy)
The DX version was my very first Zelda...
This game deserves it's 10/10 and then some. It constantly fights with Pokemon as my all-time favorite GB game. I gotta get it back as soon as I can!
Re: Review: Operation C (Game Boy)
"But good news on Link's Awakening. I'm writing it now"
Yay!
Re: Fossil Fighters Comes to DS
"Is it really a "ripoff" if the same company made that game too?"
Just because Nintendo published it doesn't mean they "made" it. Game Freak "made" Pokemon.
And there is such a thing as self-plagiarism, you know.
Re: DS Emulator For iPhone Hits The App Store
Is it really that hard to spend $150 on a real DS?
Re: Official La-Mulana Site Goes Live
I played the original version. Cave Story it ain't, but it's a fun little game.
And with this version I can finally play the game in English!
Re: Review: SD Gundam Dimension War (Virtual Boy)
Reminds me of that one Gundam show where all the Gundams were superdeformed.
Re: Review: Operation C (Game Boy)
@Adamant. Is that an import? I've never heard of it.
Guess I'll have to track this one down too, along with Contra 4.
Re: Buy Metroid Prime Trilogy, Get the Original Metroid Free

Re: Nintendo Download: 18-19 August (Japan)
KUNIO HOCKEY!!!! We need that as an import!
Kunio-kun Hockey, Bomb Jack, Solomon's Key, AND another Namco arcade game? Japan struck gold this week!
shakes fist in envy
Re: Fossil Fighters Comes to DS
"2 words: Pokemon RipOff"
My thoughts exactly.
Re: Review: Kid Dracula (Game Boy)
Yet another classic GB game I need to go hunt for later.
