Re: Review: Contra ReBirth (WiiWare)

So with all these "complaints" about the easier difficulty, would this be a good entry point into the series then? Cuz I played a demo of Contra 4 a while back and barely lasted 10 seconds.

Contra Rebirth: Insta-buy with my next points card/pre-paid credit card. Everything else? MEEEEEHHH!

@P. DANGER. I agree with you completely.

@Nintendork. You know, if you're so desperate to see Smash Bros. on VC, why don't you buy a used N64 and the actual cartridge? The two of them are as common as can be, and dirt-cheap to boot.

@The Crow, Cow, whatever. Your mental disorder doesn't make your pointless rants any less annoying. There's several autistic members on this site, and they never feel the need to go on weekly tirades like yourself.

@Metang. Uhhh... Racist? Are you sure you're reading the right post? Cuz I didn't see a single ounce of racism in his comment...

Re: Review: Namco Museum: 50th Anniversary (GameCube)

Ricardo91

I had this on the PS2, and I found it to be a real disappointment as well. Sure, it was my introduction to Rolling Thunder, Dragon Spirit, and Galaga '88 (all awesome games), but there should've been a lot more here. I mean it's their 50th Anniversary, for god's sake! Where's the '90s games? Or game designer interviews? Or even the freakin' borders!? It also annoyed the hell outta me how I had to save my game manually to record high scores. Some of the options were cool though (invincibility in Rolling Thunder FTW!)

Even though I own every significant Namco arcade game at some form at this point, I really interested in looking for the NM PS1 series. In hindsight, I feel like a real sucker for investing in the recent ones (save for Battle Collection and Virtual Arcade. Those were worth every penny!)

Re: Nintendo Download: Monkeys, Rattles, Fantasies and Puzzles (US)

Ricardo91

@Superman. Have you ever even owned a 360? What exactly makes it's library so terrible (besides the shortage of true exclusives)?

I really hate it when people make an account on this site just to go on tirades about how horrible the Wii is.

Nothing for me here, personally. PLE might be a future DSi purchase, but I'll wait till I get the Sonic Ultimate Genesis Collection to play Phantasy Star, and I couldn't really care less about the others.

Re: Review: Mr. Driller W (WiiWare)

Ricardo91

I already have Mr. Driller Online and Drill Spirits, so I'll pass on this. Is there anything in this game that's significantly different from the other two that would make me change my mind?

Re: Nintendo Download: Jedis, Drills and Bubbles (US)

Slow week, but at least the games we got are good.

@WhoKnew. Don't you understand? Every week has to have a Nintendo game in it, otherwise it's completely worthless.

@Twilight. Yes, Dig Dug II wasn't nearly as successful as DD1, which is probably why you've never heard of it. It's a decent little game, but nowhere near as good as the original.

Re: Review: Yoshi's Island DS (DS)

Ricardo91

Given how amazing the predecessor was, it's a shame to see this game get such a mediocre score. I almost got it once, but I wound up getting Rocket Slime instead. I think I made the right decision.

Re: Fossil Fighters Comes to DS

Ricardo91

"Is it really a "ripoff" if the same company made that game too?"

Just because Nintendo published it doesn't mean they "made" it. Game Freak "made" Pokemon.

And there is such a thing as self-plagiarism, you know.

Re: Buy Metroid Prime Trilogy, Get the Original Metroid Free

Ricardo91

Oh can it, people! Sure, Super Metroid would've been better, but still, Nintendo is giving us a game FOR FREE! These days, the only thing you can get for free is a punch in the face!

Makes sense that they'd do this, given that the original Metroid was an unlockable on Prime 1.
