Re: No More Heroes Outgrowing Wii

Ricardo91

Oh well, at least NMH has enough chance to make a name for itself before moving to another console. But I have a 360 anyway, so it's not like it's gonna affect me at all.

Re: Review: Water Warfare (WiiWare)

Ricardo91

I saw the video on the Nintendo Channel, and it didn't really grab me at all. As much as I like playing with water, I'll be saving my moneys for Onslaught.

@Mickey. "How the heck would that work!?!?"

It's a bazooka that blasts water, duh!

Re: Sega Not Giving Up On Mature Wii Titles Just Yet

Ricardo91

"Do a M rated Shadow the Hedghog game sega! (I'm requesting this out of morbid curiosity of course)"

Two words: HELL NO!!

Great to hear that Sega hasn't succumbed to mundane Minigame collections just yet. And this thread reminds me that I still need to buy HotD and Madworld. I fell ashamed that I haven't played them yet.

@Wiiloveit. If it also lets you shove Shadow and Chip from Sonic Unleashed off a cliff, I'm sold! XD

Re: Brutal Legend Wii Cancelled

Ricardo91

Whatever. I wasn't gonna buy the Wii version anyway. Like pretty much all multiconsole games on Wii, it was probably gonna look like s**t and be inferior to the original. I'm getting it for 360.

@Shpydar. Exactly! This is Tim Schafer people, the guy who made Escape from Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, and Psychonauts! I personally think the game looks very unique and awesome! And to everyone complaining about Jack Black, I hate him too, but it's only his voice, and it's not like it's gonna ruin the actual gameplay or anything.

Re: Review: Let's Tap (Wii)

^Why don't you just dig one out of your garage?

I don't know, I'm still on the fence about this game. It looks kinda fun, and the music is infectious, but I think I'll give it a rent first, or wait till it's cheap.

Re: Review: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess (Wii)

<Sticks knife into ATRUEZELDAFAN>

If you ask me, an 8 seems like the perfect score for this, maybe even a 7. I've never been much of a fan of the 3D Zeldas (always preferred the 2D ones), but I found this game to be particularly mediocre. The art direction was nice (if a bit creepy at times), but it had way too much brown in it. It didn't play much differently than every other 3D Zelda in history, and many of it's "new" features were gussied-up versions of those found in older games (twilight realm=dark world, clawshot=hookshot), and the game felt just plain dull. I just recently dug the game out again after not playing it in months when I got lost in the Gerudo Desert. I just can't get into it again.

But I give it a 7, cuz the Wiimote controls worked well and were fun to use, and the minigames were fun.

Also, what took so long to get a review of this out?

Re: Review: Super Smash Bros. (Virtual Console / Nintendo 64)

Ricardo91

@Redflicky. I'm pretty sure he was being sarcastic...

@LEGEND MARIOID. Don't EVEN compare this game to SMB3.

@Maxime. In terms of play control, I totally agree with you. Melee's controls were simply perfect. The combat was fast-paced and every move could be pulled off without a hitch. SSB64, as limited and dated as it is, had pretty good control too, even if it had to be played with that annoying N64 controller. I haven't played it much though, so I can't critique it any further. Brawl's combat sucks though, with floaty, touchy controls (very noticeable when you're getting butchered in online matches), a single jump was pretty much worthless, many moves could only be useful with perfect timing (Falcon's turbo knee being a fine example), and then there's the aforementioned tripping. What were they thinking when they put that in? If other fighters like Street Fighter II had tripping, there'd be a lot more pissed-off fighting fans in the world.

One thing i didn't like about Melee was the lack of consecutive air dodging. You could only air-dodge once before your character became immobile and dropped to the ground, and you couldn't dodge an enemy's multiple attacks, so if you're facing someone who's really good, they could annihalate you with a string of strong attacks. Other than that, they were flawless.

In terms of stage design, I'd have to say Brawl gets the top spot. It's stages were very well-designed and had a ton of action going on in them, which I liked. I know some people hate that, but it added a new layer of excitement to the combat. The original's were just drab and boring.

Re: Scribblenauts

Ricardo91

This looks like the greatest DS game ever! And the graphics have a nice indie feel to them. This one's gonna be a must-buy!

Re: Review: Icarian: Kindred Spirits (WiiWare)

Ricardo91

According to the review, this sounds like a mix between Lostwinds and Klonoa, which is definitely a good thing in my book. It's not the second coming of Kid Icarus like I hoped, but I'm saving points for this nonetheless.

Re: E3 2009: Nintendo's Announcements

Ricardo91

@People who think this conference was a disappointment. WHAT THE HELL DO YOU PEOPLE WANT!?!?

@Caliko. Fanboys are always finding something to complain about. That's why they're fanboys. Nintendo could buy back Rare and they still bitch about it.

Re: E3 2009: Nintendo's Announcements

Ricardo91

Pretty good conference if you ask me. It sucks not to hear more details about Zelda Wii or Sin & Punishment 2, but I like what I see. New Mario Galaxy and new (assumedly 2D) Metroid? HEEEELZ YEEEAAAH!!

@Caliko. Ummm... Clover made Viewtiful Joe, bud.

@Wiiboy. Thanks for sharing that with us.
