Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Won't Be As Powerful As PlayStation 4

@DanteSolablood Part of the reason third parties didn't support the Wii U was the lack of power. They did not want to hold back their next gen games to run on inferior hardware. There are other factors contributing to the lack of third party support, but the poor hardware of the Wii U is a major factor.

@Kaze_Memaryu When you say that their overall playstyle has not changed you are 100% incorrect, unless you are talking about casual play. How these characters are used competitively has changed a whole lot. I think the lack of character overhauls is because Nintendo wanted more variety of new characters.

Example- Diddy Kong's moveset has not changed but he has completely different tactics and combos in SSB4 than in Melee.

@Kaze_Memaryu Nothing has been majorly changed by Nintendo, only changes in terms of content, quality, and variety of characters/stages. Many advanced techniques have been discovered by players over the years however, causing major changes in competitive play for Melee and 64. If you compare how pros play Melee between now and 5 years ago, you will see some major differences. The tier lists have gone through plenty of changes due to character specific techniques being discovered as well.

Even Nintendo has added plenty of interesting new content- Updated movements, entirely unique characters such as Rosalina and Little Mac, a hugely improved soundtrack, graphics, and stage selection and more. So far, the larger roster of SSB4, along with occasionally updates have helped keep most characters actually playable in a competitive environment- this helps prevent a Brawl or even Melee situation with dominance of specific characters in tourneys.

Street Fighter hasn't completely overhauled many characters, and is not any worse for it. Most fighting games don't have major changes to combat, and so what? If the formula works why change it a ton? As long as it doesn't get stale (Which Smash Bros has not according to almost everyone) then there really is no need for massive overhauls in gameplay.
